A collection of tropes concerning ethnic/national/racial stereotypes used as heroes. This index also enlists fictional races that are usually depicted as all being good/benevolent.

- Affirmative-Action Legacy: When a white male hero gets a successor who is female or belongs to a minority.
- Always Lawful Good
- Captain Ethnic: A superhero whose theme is their ethnicity or nationality.
- Captain Geographic: A superhero with a name, outfit and/or characteristics based around their country of origin.
- Captain Patriotic: A superhero who serves the ideals of their nation.
- Five-Token Band: Every member of the heroic group is a minority not represented by the rest of the team.
- Multinational Team: A team of heroes has members from different countries, race or ethnicity.
Specific Stereotypes
- The All-American Boy
- America Saves the Day: When the USA portrayed as the main good guys ready to solve any global crisis.
- Asian and Nerdy: An intellectual character of Asian descent serves the role as The Smart Guy of the hero team.
- Awesome Aussie: Australians who can be quite heroic and brave at certain points.
- Badass Native: When the native tribespeople are defending their village from an invading tribe or colonial soldiers.
- Black and Nerdy: An intelligent character of African ethnicity serves the role as The Smart Guy of the hero team.
- Brave Scot: The Scottish are depicted as honorable, noble and fearless.
- Chummy Commies
- Courteous Canadian
- Dashing Hispanic: Several of these characters can have a fearless and/or altruistic outlook of life.
- Eagle Land: The Type 1 "Beautiful" flavor is explicitly a positive stereotypical depiction of either the United States or American culture as a whole.
- English Rose
- Fighting Irish: Some Irish are good-natured, even when in conflict.
- The Friendly Texan

- Gorgeous Greek: Sometimes depicted positively.
- Heroic Russian Émigré: Anti-bolshevik Russian expats are portrayed as good guys.
- Indian Maiden: They are the calming force behind her father or chieftain, aiding him through the difficult times of woe in an age that threatens their way of life.
- Japanese Politeness: A polite Japanese character, and/or the tendency of Japanese people to be very affable and benevolent.
- Japanese Spirit (as it shows itself as a plethora of virtues, as well a Sub-Trope of Heroic Spirit.)

- Magical Romani: A Romani with supernatural powers who is normally portrayed positively.
- Mighty Whitey
- Minnesota Nice
- Neighbourhood-Friendly Gangsters: When The Mafia and/or the Japanese Yakuza are portrayed in a positive light.
- Nice Jewish Boy: A mild-mannered Jewish young man who is seen as an ideal role model.
- Noble Savage
- Officer O'Hara: An Irish (or Irish-American) police officer who sometimes helps keeping peace in the city.
- Old-Fashioned Copper: British bobbies are characterized for being morally upstanding law enforcers.
- Quintessential British Gentleman: A British who can be depicted as good guys in some stories.
- Rambunctious Italian: Several of these Hot-Blooded Italians tend to be good-natured Boisterous Bruisers in fighting or Guile Heroes whose skill at talking exceeds their combat abilities.
- Scary Black Man: Some of these characters can be portrayed as good guys (whether they're Gentle Giants or otherwise).
- Southern Gentleman: A polite and proper guy from the American south, typically with a few unpleasant traits.
- White Man's Burden: A white character sets out to help improve the lives of a (usually racial) minority.
