Since the previous iteration of this thread got completely wiped in the crash, I'm remaking it. Also, have a relevant ATT thread.
There's a lot of unnecessary "do not confuse this with X" notes on wiki pages. As a quick example, VideoGame.Creepy Castle says "Not to be confused with the level with the same name from Donkey Kong 64." Nobody is going to confuse an action-adventure game from a few years ago with the last level of a 90's collectathon platformer, and that's not even the only game with a level named "Creepy Castle". I would delete it myself, but I've already deleted it once and I don't want to edit war over it.
If you find any misleading or Fan Myopia-filled disambiguation notes on pages, bring them up here.
Additionally, I would like to propose that "do not confuse with" notes should only be for pages with similar titles, such as Run-and-Gun vs. Do Not Run with a Gun, rather than "this series is named for a character whose name is the same as another character from an unrelated series", such as the note that used to be on Series.Benson about a character from WesternAnimation.Regular Show.
Eminem gets his stage name from his initials, MM, so I suppose so.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.I also keep saying this, but it's also harmless and slightly funny, and this project was never designed to remove all of the joke ones.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessYeah, it's a funny joke that's unlikely to confuse anyone.
From Red Eyes, Take Warning:
Not to be confused with being worried about a late-night airline flight (which would probably fall under Plane Awful Flight), or with the film Red Eye (which is about such a flight), or with the liquor.
I'd say those can all be cut (they're also pretty confusing if you're not familiar with the idiom "red-eye flight"; not all tropers are native English speakers, after all).
One from Boys Don't Cry:
"Not to be confused with Men Don't Cry, Boys Who Cry (the boy band from SpongeBob SquarePants), or the Polish movie with the same name (also produced in 1999)."
I think the Spongebob reference can definitely be cut (and, quite frankly, is rather disgusting to have on the page for a film Based on a True Story about the victim of a transphobic hate crime), but I'm leaning towards keeping the other two, since those are actual works/tropes a user might be looking for instead. Agree? Disagree?
Agree, keep the actual works with similar names but cut the fictional boy band.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Saw this was removed from Hands Looking Wrong
Should this have been removed? It seems to be a harmless joke, not Fan Myopia.
It also doesn't seem to have been brought up here first, despite saying it was part of this cleanup effort.

If nothing else, I think the joke will date the page. It could be broader to something like "Has nothing to do with hands looking wrong due to bad art" or cut entirely.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I'll change it to "Has nothing to do with sloppily drawn hands or going Off-Model."
Which come to think of it, is something the trope could actually be mistaken for.
That said, i do think people should be a bit less gung ho to delete jokes without discussing here first.
Also, given Fan Myopia is a big issue, maybe it should be explicitly mentioned on the I Thought It Meant page not to misuse it like that.

I keep a text file of edits I'm planning on making, and have a poor track record in remembering which ones I've already brought up on the forum.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool. This is currently on Narm:
Not to be confused with 'Nam, or the Narn, or OMM-NOM-NOM-NOM, a certain heavy-set Boston barfly (or his Lurian counterpart), or a talking koala. Also not to be confused with the National Area for Retired Mills, North American Registry for Midwives, National Association of Rooflight Manufacturers or the National Association of Recording Merchandisers.. Despite having it as a part of his name, the Pharaoh Narmer has nothing to do with this trope either. And especially, don't confuse with "Narf", which is what Pinky of Pinky and the Brain says as his catchphrase ("Narf" is never meant to be serious).
Can I cut this? I don't think any of that is worth keeping.
Other than 'Nam I don't think most of these are familiar or relevant enough to be confused for one or the other.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I say remove all of that as well.
No child should have to think of selling medication for food. Are you afraid?Erk, I support removing them all. (Though I'll admit "'Narf' is never meant to be serious" got a giggle from me.)
From More Despicable Minion, I have no idea why anyone would confuse the two:
Has nothing to do with the Minions from Despicable Me, who are not this, but the complete opposite instead.
I didn't see the despicable part until it was pointed out.

I think "Despicable" and "Minion" are associated enough with that franchise that I can see it staying for at least the Obligatory Joke.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Yeah, that's pretty inoffensive. (Also, dammit, I didn't get the joke either until Mewtron pointed it out.)
Looking at the page for Ice Spice, I found this:
"She has nothing do with the Spice Girls or I Spy."
I personally think the first entry should stay, since her name does sound like a Spice Girls stage name (Scary Spice, etc.), but I'm unsure about the second. The words look nothing alike, but perhaps you might mix them up if you're using a screen reader?
Any opinions on either?
I don't like either of those. "Ice Spice" as a link to the Spice Girls is too... esoteric?
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.I think the I Spy thing is supposed to be merely a playful pun, but it's a very flimsy one. I say cut both.
back lolI don't mind keeping the Spice Girls bit. I Spy is a reach though.

I would assume Eminem's name is a reference to M&M's, so maybe not "no relation," but the NTBCW disclaimer might work here (similar to Dexter, it is remarked upon a lot).
