Since the previous iteration of this thread got completely wiped in the crash, I'm remaking it. Also, have a relevant ATT thread.
There's a lot of unnecessary "do not confuse this with X" notes on wiki pages. As a quick example, VideoGame.Creepy Castle says "Not to be confused with the level with the same name from Donkey Kong 64." Nobody is going to confuse an action-adventure game from a few years ago with the last level of a 90's collectathon platformer, and that's not even the only game with a level named "Creepy Castle". I would delete it myself, but I've already deleted it once and I don't want to edit war over it.
If you find any misleading or Fan Myopia-filled disambiguation notes on pages, bring them up here.
Additionally, I would like to propose that "do not confuse with" notes should only be for pages with similar titles, such as Run-and-Gun vs. Do Not Run with a Gun, rather than "this series is named for a character whose name is the same as another character from an unrelated series", such as the note that used to be on Series.Benson about a character from WesternAnimation.Regular Show.
VideoGame.N has these two lines at the bottom:
This page is probably the best thing to use as your bookmark for TV Tropes, as it has a One-Letter Title.
First one is for a non-title character so should be removed. The second is just weird, dating back to when it was Main/N but even then you could just bookmark "tvtropes.org". Permission to cut both?

Stories don't tell us monsters exist; we knew that already. They show us that monsters can be trademarked and milked for years.I think the second one is saying that it's the best because it takes the least amount of space in your bookmark bar, but... yeah get rid of it.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessFrom Recap. The Real Ghostbusters S 2 E 60 Egons Ghost, we have this:
For the series with the same premise as this episode, see here.
And from Fanfic. The Nightmare House, we have this:
Not to be confused with a Super Mario World ROM Hack of the same name, or the Half-Life 2 mod Nightmare House.
Are these misuse?
For every low there is a high.First is misuse because completely different title. Second is misuse because little risk of confusion.
Double post

My Immortal: For the Death Note version, see Light and Dark The Adventures of Dark Yagami. For The Twilight Saga version, see Twila The Girl Who Waz In Luv With A Vampyre or Forbiden Fruit: The Tempation of Edward Cullen. For the Pokémon version, see Pokémon: Attack of Mewtwo. For the Redwall version, see Soulless Shell, though that one's closer to legolas by laura in some ways. For the Warrior Cats version, see Star Kits Prophecy. For The Legend of Zelda version, see My Inner Life. For the Percy Jackson and the Olympians version, see Moon Daughter.
Star Kits Prophecy: Arguably the Warriors equivalent of My Immortal. See also Hidden Prophices.
legolas by laura: Compare with Sary in the same fandom, and My Immortal and My Inner Life for other fandoms.
My Inner Life: Also, see My Immortal, legolas by laura, Shinra High Soldier, DOOM: Repercussions of Evil, Love Is Deffinatly Blind, Back to the Frollo, The Final Sword, Marissa Picard, Atlanta Nights, and StarKitsProphcy.
Yeah the only connection is being badly written
On ComicStrip.Love Is, the description starts off with this line:
I feel like that can be removed. It's not really relevant to Love Is, it's Fan Myopia to Undertale, and it's a spoiler for the latter to boot.
Permission to cut?
to cutting.
I've thought of adding "Definitely not to be confused with" to The Wind Rises and When the Wind Blows, because I have actually mixed up the two on occasion. Would that be a valid example or misuse?
If there's actual confusion it's valid. This cleanup is for cases where no one in their right mind would confuse them.
About to clean a wick of Momo (got moved to Momo (Creepypasta)) on Momo, and the last sentence in the description is this:
There's been a back-and-forth on "Shaggy Dog" Story and I don't want to edit war, so...
Which parts of this are valid?
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.I think the middle sentence could stay, but axe the other two.
Nothing to do with trying to kill anyone from 30 Rock. Or with a form of Murder, Inc. that lets you hire a hitman online.
The latter one makes sense, but the former one is pure Fan Myopia, not even a series title pun.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I agree, I don't understand the first one at all. I support removing that one.
Could I get feedback on this "Momo" one please? (Note: said Literature page is now on Momo (1973)).
No child should have to think of selling medication for food. Are you afraid?I think you should cut the Momo sentence.
Is it kosher to mention "Not to be confused with Murder Simulators" for murder.com?

Kirby is awesome.Momo shares a name and even has its own page at Literature.Momo Creepypasta so I think it's okay to mention.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I only removed the sentence after that, the one that alludes to the characters from Avatar: The Last Airbender (flying lemur) and Phineas and Ferb (duck) who share the name "Momo". I kept the sentence that referred to other works that share that name.
No child should have to think of selling medication for food. Are you afraid?Murder Simulators is about video games, not websites, so I don't think it would fit.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool. There are some websites that are Murder Simulators, especially web games, so the connection can still be made.

Kirby is awesome.Neither Murder Simulators or murder.com are literally (or rather exclusively) about websites that let you simulate murder though. Maybe there is a "see also" to be made though.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.
Removed Star Control reference.
