As seen in the Do we have a project to disambig works? Ask The Tropers, there are many works pages that seem to need disambigs, by virtue of sharing names and having no differentiation.
This thread is for the discussion and listing of what to do about such pages.
See here for a list of needed disambigs.
The List
- Film.The Lost World
- Series.Utopia
- Series.Kidnapped (2006 NBC Cop Show) (20 wicks)
- Series.The Street
- VideoGame.Star Wars Battlefront
- VideoGame.Star Wars Battlefront II
- WesternAnimation.Fantasia
- WesternAnimation.Max Steel
Similar Issues
- Then there is pages like The Host which is for the Korean film but has a bunch of wicks referring to the adaptation of The Host.
- Ransom: YMMV.Ransom only has Film entries, but Characters.Ransom is trying to be a disambig to Characters.Ransom Film and Characters.Ransom TV... Trivia.Ransom needs to be split.
- Film.Deadlands is conflicting with the Tabletop Game. Maybe move to its redirect, Film. The Dead Lands?
- Series. The Untouchables: It's holding multiple versions in there...

A Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) article has been created (I'll expand it later), and a trailer is out. But is the "2019" disambiguator necessary? The original Modern Warfare game was called Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, with a numeral, while the reboot has no numeral.

Dunkirk will need to be added because of Dunkirk (1958)
(maybe we need a page like Hyphenated Titles that anyone can edit to add that they find)
There is a new ""Charlies Angels'' film coming out with the same title so the old one should probably be moved
I have found cases of fanfics sharing their names with works that are completely unrelated to them.
- Fanfic.Insomnia (The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask) with Literature.Insomnia
- Fanfic. All Along The Watchtower (X-Men: First Class) with Literature. All Along The Watchtower.
I'm pretty sure there are many more out there; those are just the ones I can recall on top of my head.

SpaceBattles.com fanworks (unnoficial) index in my Sandbox. If there is an actual risk of a subpage collision, the fanfiction is disambiguated by fandom or author, while the other work's page usually doesn't move. Since apparently fanfics are less "official works" or whatever.
(I'm not saying what should happen here, just what is already happening. I'm not trying to start an argument.)
On that note, Fanfic.Emergence (RWBY) should be disambiguated to make room for future work Series.Emergence. I'll take care of that one myself, probably tomorrow.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.Per this ATT thread, I believe Music. The Wrecking Crew Music should be moved back to Music. The Wrecking Crew while Film. The Wrecking Crew should be moved to Film. The Wrecking Crew 1968.
Fanfic.Bastard should be moved to Bastard (Harry Potter) to avoid wiki word collision.
Some pages use weird non-standard disambiguation:
- Anime.Yu Gi Oh First Anime Series to Yu-Gi-Oh! (1998)
- Anime.Negima Second Season to Negima!? (2006)
- Manga.Metroid Manga to Metroid (2003)
Also, since these works have unique titles which are currently redirects, shouldn't they use those titles instead of adding the year?
- WesternAnimation.Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer 1998 to Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Movie
- VideoGame.Dissidia Final Fantasy 2015 to Dissidia Final Fantasy NT
Dissidia is a weird case, because Dissidia NT might not be the name for the 2015 game as a whole, only for the home console editions.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.How to handle Literature.Halo?
There's the Franchise.Halo, then there's the book series, with its first book, also being called Halo...
Perhaps there's enough Halos to be a Stock Title?
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576Make Literature.Halo redirect to Main.Halo, which will be a disambiguation page for the the game franchise and the unrelated book series.
I suppose it's been five years or so since I last brought this up, but would Life On Mars be better served with UK/US(/Korea) disambiguation rather than by year?
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.I'm not familiar with the show, but if it's anything like The Office, where most people refer to them as the "US version" or the "UK version", it would probably be fine. Being Human is another one like that.
I was about to disambig various work pages titled "Home", but then I realized this book and this game were both released in 2012, so I can't disambig them by year.
Would by creator be acceptable? Home (Morrison) for the book and Home (Rivers) for the game.
Edited by Primis on Mar 23rd 2020 at 10:20:55 AM
Creator is the best option, it appears.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.Alright, I'll work on moving those later, then.
I just found Fanfic.Home, too. How should I do that one? There's no conflict with the year, but I've seen other fanfics that are disambiguated by creator or by source material (Death Note, in this case).
Fanfics are generally disambiguated by either source material or author's penname. (I prefer the latter, personally, as there's a much lower chance of two fanfics with the same name being by the same author than being in the same fandom. But I don't think there's any official preference.)
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.I prefer source material.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.Same, but if the fic doesn't have any subpage entries, it doesn't need to be disambiguated.
Keet cleanupIs there any policy reason to not disambiguate it, even without subpage entries?
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.It always could have them in the future, though.
There's already a page at Literature. What If, and I've added Isaac Asimov's 1952 Short Story by the same name to Sandbox. What If. I would like advice on what disambiguations should be used; I'm thinking Literature. What If Gamebooks and Literature. What If 1952 would make a good disambiguation. ~Sideshow Jazz 19, you've done the most work on that page, what do you think? Link to TRS threads in project mode here.
Yes, that's a good idea.
Hey guys, let's not get heated here, take it to this thread if you wanna debate the policy itself.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessFinished disambiguating the "Home" pages.
- WesternAnimation.Home —> WesternAnimation.Home 2015 (All the subpages were for this one, so I moved those to "Home 2015", too)
- Literature.Home —> Literature.Home Morrison
- VideoGame.Home —> VideoGame.Home Rivers (VideoGame.Home now redirects to Home, due to VideoGame.Home 2013)
- Fanfic.Home —> Fanfic.Home Out Of Lullabies
Also revamped Home, added notes to all the work pages, and also removed the notes for the various episodes of TV shows titled "Home", since those aren't likely to be confused with entirely separate works.
I think you did a good job on the disambiguation page, although I dispute removing the episodes. Would you mind if I added them back in?

The Legion disambig sounds like a good idea.
Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)
