Mario Party Overboarded

Go To

Overview and Instructions

A lone comet flies over the Mushroom Kingdom once every thousand years. This comet contains the Millenium Star, a sacred object that heralded the commencement of festivities. After the universe was renewed once, Mario still had the chance to watch the comet fly across the sky again. But during mid-flight it shattered. The Celestial Eon, which controlled the balance and flow of the omniverse went missing all across planets and solar systems. As invaders ruptured from the twisting of reality as Peach’s Castle started being ambushed, Mario knew something was wrong. Luckily, the Star Spirits who stopped Bowser once and helped run the Dream Depot noticed this and enlisted heroes and unwilling villains to combine together to stop the legion of foes who have secured pieces of the artifact, believing it would grant them wishes and power. The party commences like never before.

4 players every board work to gather stars and coins in order to play multiple boards in a game usually referred to as Mario Party. Using a Dice Block usually numbered 1-10, they move across spaces in set paths in order to reach first place. While the game of Mario Party itself is competitive, story-wise every player is working towards the same goal to restore balance to each world and board they come across. Each of the four players are able to carry up to 3 items that have special effects. Each item they carry can only be used once so choose wisely. Every 6 boards are its own plotline, which is connected to the larger, main plot.

Every player can nominate a character in-between board intermissions. Make sure the post where a character in nominated is written in the outline nested within the folder for it below.

Mario Party knowledge is required, but only the basic essentials. If you know how a game of Mario Party works (the Gamecube games and 8 are recommended but not required for game knowledge), you’re fine.

Almost all actions that happen during board play is controlled by the GM (currently leafsaber47). Unique content will be explained either at the explanation update before the board officially begins, and item rules will be recapped and/or explained as a sort of footnote to every update once a player gets them or arrives at the shop for the first time during a turn.

Spaces and how they look on the board map
  • Blue Space - Gives the player 3 coins. Appearance is exactly what it says on the tin.
  • Red Space - Takes away 3 coins from the player. Appearance is exactly what it says on the tin.
  • Event Space - If the player lands on this space exactly the number of spaces to move across as shown on their dice a event happens that automatically is written about in the update. A green space with a question mark.
  • Miracle Space - Initiates Chance Time. The two players and the resulting trade are determined by the GM. A green space with a stylized star on it.
  • Star Space - A space that can’t be landed on but will automatically give players a star if they have the right amount of coins to purchase it (usually 20). A unique appearance shared with the Orb Space but with a golden star instead of a red orb. If a person during the turn has bought the star for sale, the update will say where the Star Space moves to next immediately after the star is bought.
  • Evil Space - A space that initiates a random negative effect on the user based on who is the villain behind the current events in the story. A generic Bowser Space with black background with a red skull and crossbones symbol.
  • Lucky Space - If the player lands on this space, they will be transported to a separate area of the board filled with Blue Spaces and coins that lead the player usually to a free star. If they end up getting the free gift and they have moves left on the dice, they return to the board on the Lucky Space with all remaining moves forfeited. A yellow space with an eighth note in orange.
  • Battle Space - If the player lands on this space, a side scene where the Battle Mini-Game process is initiated prompting players to choose three minigames for them to decide on. Run by Bombette from Paper Mario, she will always choose the minigame which was picked the least when a tie occurs. Up for grabs are coins waged by all players. Lower pots than what Bombette expects will happen. Is a green space that features her likeness.
  • Duel Space - If the player lands on this space, they will decide on who to duel with, which their target is decided by the GM. A duel minigame commences, and the winner of the minigame will steal coins and/or a star from the loser. The winner’s loot will be determined by the GM. Represented by crossed swords in purple colors and background.
  • Orb Space - Can’t be landed on like the Star Space but will give a random orb to a player who passes it, which is revealed when they pass it.

    Common Events
  • Capsule Machines - Will give you a random orb item if a player who interacts with them has 2 or less items in their inventory. Appears a caricature of itself.
  • Shop - If their player happens to pass by the shop during their move and has at least 5 coins and is not under a transformation effect, they may purchase one item from the shop’s selection in the current turn. Only one appears per board. Appears as a common real-life shop symbol.

    How to Nominate
  • Character Name: - (link to image of character)
  • Series:
  • Personality (think of it as a backbone to a unique CPU in the Mario Party games. How do they behave during minigames and board play, what do they do with certain and all items, what minigames do they prefer and do well at, and what bonus star do they want the most?):

Towering Treetop - Turn 17

  • It's Bandana Dee's turn. Consuming the Super Mushroom Orb, he hits three Dice Blocks. With a 3 and two 5s, his resulting total amount of moves he can take is 13. How unlucky for him, because either way he goes, he's going to land on another Evil Space. He takes the path usable via the pink flower and braces for another tornado of camellia petals to whisk him away again to the scorched mound of grass where Lady Eboshi is waiting...

    • Lady Eboshi: Back again so soon. Welcome to the Evil Space. I must cast some kind of misfortune on you. What shall it be?

    • The wicked maiden comes up with another devious plan.

    • Lady Eboshi: How about I swap everyone's places on the board when I throw you back on it? Hope you'll like what I've done mixing up your positions. It's been a pleasure having you here.

    • The positions of the players are shuffled. Now Sir Pentious is on the Evil Space, Sorbet Shark Cookie is near the Venusaur, Yuri is on the Blue Space at the end of the slide, and Bandana Dee is dialed back to the Blue Space to the left of one Event Space.

  • It's Sorbet Shark Cookie's turn. He hits the Dice Block and gets a 7. Using the purple flower as a springboard, he passes by an Orb Space, getting himself a Toady Orbnote . He skips past the Capsule Machine due to his full inventory and lands on a Blue Space, as his coin count goes up to 41.

  • It's Sir Pentious's turn. He hits the Dice Block and gets a 2. As he leaves the Evil Space and hops onto an Orb Space, he gets a Spiny Orbnote  before moving again. Landing on a Blue Space shoots up his coin count to 23.

  • It's Yuri's turn. She hits the Dice Block and gets a 3 from it. Moving past the Orb Space, which gave her a Sluggish Shroom Orbnote  she kept in exchange for tossing away the Bone Orb. Landing on the same Blue Space Bandana Dee is on, she gets 3 coins from it.

The same 1-vs-3 mini-game roster from last turn is about to be used for the next mini-game.

Turn 17 Mini-Game - Sign, Steal, Deliver (video of minigame)

The players show up at a large apartment complex where two trucks are parked at, both with empty cargo and working conveyor belts. A human courier tells them about the mini-game they are going to play for a wage. As Bandana Dee is given the control of a RC drone, the Spike in the red truck pulls out a bugle and plays a loud sound on it, telling the players the mini-game has started.

  • Bandana Dee delivered 12 packages in total with the drone.

  • The three other players on foot delivered 8 packages in total.

With Bandana Dee doing a better job than the three misfits of a team, the human courier pays Bandana Dee the 10 coin wage. A pretty opportune job for the mini-game, eh?

The paranoia of post errors's killing me here. Just a few more updates left to go!

Towering Treetop - Turn 18

  • It's Bandana Dee's turn. Hitting the Dice Block nets him a 2. It's a nice change for once as Bandana Dee lands on a Blue Space, sending his coin cache up to 42 coins.

  • It's Sorbet Shark Cookie's turn. He uses the Toady Orb and summons it to his aid.

    • Toady: What inventory do you want to nick this time, pal?

    • Sorbet Shark Cookie asks the Toady to swap Yuri's inventory with his. Using Kamek-borrowed powers, Toady is able to obtain a rather nice set of equipment for him to use.

    • Toady: Toodles.

    • Sorbet Shark Cookie hits the Dice Block afterwards and gets a 6, sending him towards the slide, and acquires a Cashzap Orbnote  after a few seconds; before stopping at the Event Space near the giant tree's face.

    • Giant Tree: Hey, can you please tickle my nose with this feather? My nose feels itchy...

    • Out came a third big sneeze which just put Sir Pentious down to a Blue Space next to a Capsule Machine.

    • Giant Tree: Glad to have that sneeze out of my system. Thank you!

  • It's Sir Pentious's turn. He begrudgingly hits the Dice Block, still miffed about getting his hopes of a third star dashed. He gets a 5, and moves towards a Blue Space, netting him 3 coins.

  • It's Yuri's turn. She hits her Dice Block, netting a 5. As she lands on an Evil Space, she visibly sweats before a twister of camellia petals captures her and sends her to the scorched hollow where Lady Eboshi was waiting.

    • Lady Eboshi: Welcome to the Evil Space. I must cast some kind of misfortune on you. What shall it be?

    • Lady Eboshi hatches a plan: to send all players to a nefarious mini-game with the aid of shamans with wicked magicks.

    • Lady Eboshi: Time to play a little game for me. Whoever loses the mini-game gets their monetary fortune taken away!

Turn 18 Evil Mini-Game - Fruits of Doom (video of minigame)

The players are unknowingly sent to a mini-game where they end up in a fully decorated and furnished dining room adorned with vicious red dragons.

Lady Eboshi tells them about the mini-game, demanding a series of fruits to be given to her in a specific order. Among the dinner plates are strawberries, watermelons, apples, oranges, grapes, cherries, pomegranates, and peaches.

  • Yuri is first. She gives Lady Eboshi an apple, who eats it slowly before giving her approval.

  • Bandana Dee is next. He gives Lady Eboshi a watermelon slice, who has a second thought on eating it before taking a bite out of it anyways.

  • Sorbet Shark Cookie is next. He gives Lady Eboshi a pomegranate, who manages to eat it at first sight.

  • Sir Pentious is next. He sheepishly places a strawberry on a plate right in front of the lady, who takes a bite out of it before giving her approval.

  • Yuri is next. She gives Lady Eboshi another slice of watermelon, who stares at it for a few seconds before slapping it out of her hands.

Lady Eboshi: I don't want this! Gentlemen, get rid of this girl's belongings. (turns towards other three players) As for you lot, it's been nice having you here. You are dismissed forcefully.

Yuri helplessly watches as she is confiscated of all her coins before Lady Eboshi figuratively throws all four players back onto the board.

After the Evil Space mishap, it was time for a 2-vs-2 mini-game with Yuri and Sorbet Shark Cookie against the other two players of the board.

Turn 18 Mini-Game - Bus Buffer (video of minigame)

The players are taken to a seedy part of a city, probably Earth in its Western Hemisphere. There are two filthy buses parked next to each other. Will Smith hops in to tell them about the instructions of the mini-game.

Will Smith: Those Shy Guy dudes are gonna give you something to clean these bus roofs. Whoever gets their own bus cleaned up first gets some cash from those folks I just told y'all bout. You ready for this?

When the four players are finally up on the roofs with cleaning devices, a Shy Guy turns on a boombox to tell them it's the start of the mini-game.

  • The bus that Yuri and Sorbet Shark Cookie were working on was completely cleaned first.

The Shy Guys climb up to the roof of the nicely done van to give each of the two winners 10 coins.

[Sorbet Shark is extremely happy about Sir Pentious being knocked away from the Star space by the sneezing tree. And now he has a Chain Chomp orb AND 50 coins! Maybe he can put that spooky serpent back in his place next go-around!

Silly mistakes happened behind the scene this turn. The stuff after this is going to be eventful!

Towering Treetop - Turn 19

  • It's Bandana Dee's turn. He uses one of his Chain Chomp Orbs to call in a Chain Chomp for stealing some coins from Sorbet Shark Cookie.

    • Chain Chomp: Arf arf! <You want me to steal something for you? No problem!>

    • The Chain Chomp immediately jumps in a single bound over a few spaces as it slams its body upon Sorbet Shark Cookie, squishing him and taking 10 coins from him, enough coins for Bandana Dee to steal a star on the next and last turn.

    • Chain Chomp: Woof woof! <What a steal! Here's 10 coins for you!>

    • Now with 52 coins in total, Bandana Dee hits his Dice Block, as he rolls a 2, sending him to Sorbet Shark Cookie's Piranha Plant space, rendering the steal he made with the Chain Chomp Orb wasted. Bandana Dee loses 26 coins as Sorbet Shark Cookie is able to amass 67 coins after the steal.

  • It's Sorbet Shark Cookie's turn. He immediately opens his Flutter Orb to summon a Flutter to take him to the Star Space.

    • Flutter: Thanks for calling me over! I'm here to take you to the Star Space. Hang on tight!

    • Flutter picks up a light cargo in Sorbet Shark Cookie as he takes the gingerbread man to the Star Space.

    • Flutter: Good luck out there! Tell them I sent you!

    • Sorbet Shark Cookie accepts his third star from Eldstar, as he is elevated to the lead, with 3 stars and 47 coins in hand. The next Star Space is next to the Miracle Space, as it was at the start of the game.

    • Sorbet Shark Cookie then hits the Dice Block, getting a 7. Declining to shop, due to having a good set of items to use already, moving past the Koopa Bank turned out to be a roadblock, as a Koopa Troopa halted his path.

    • Koopa Troopa: Welcome to this branch of the Koopa Bank. I'm sorry to say, but I'm requiring you to deposit 5 coins in the bank.

    • Sorbet Shark Cookie deposits 5 coins as his coin count falls down to 42.

    • Koopa Troopa: The Koopa Bank now has 10 coins in their reserves. Thank you for visiting.

    • After passing by an Orb Space for a free Chain Chomp Orbnote , he climbs up to the platform where Woody is at. He stops right on the Event Space to talk to him.

    • Woody: Hello, little guy! I'm so happy to see you. As a token of my gratitude, I'm able to send some coins to everyone. Hit this block above you to find out how much I give.

    • The Dice Block gets hit, stopping at 25.

    • Woody: Wow, that's a lot of coins to give out. Let it rain money!

    • Woody erupts out coins to all 4 players on the board. Sorbet Shark gets the coin lead in 67, while Bandana Dee gets 51 coins, enough coins for a star to steal with a Chain Chomp Orb again.

  • It's Sir Pentious's turn. He hits the Dice Block for a 5, landing on the Event Space directly below a beehive. He is ambushed by bees, getting stung rapidly as the snake demon loses 10 of his coins.

  • It's Yuri's turn. She hits the Dice Block, getting a 7. After going to the path through the pink flower one last time, she takes a Toady Orbnote  from an Orb Space, before landing on a Blue Space, sending her coin count up to 38.

It's a 1-vs-3 mini-game for the next to last turn where Yuri is against the other three players.

Turn 19 Mini-Game - Thrash 'n' Crash (video of minigame)

The four players arrive at a skateboard course where three skateboards are lying in the open. Two Shy Guys describe to them about the mini-game that the players are going to compete in. While one talks to the three players who are supposed to go onto the skateboard, the other Shy Guy escorts Yuri to somewhere that the other three players don't know about. Come a minute later and Yuri is flying a contraption, forcing the other three players to skate for their lives.

  • Bandana Dee is rolled over by a wheel.

  • Sorbet Cookie Shark is stopped in his tracks by a falling stack of barrels.

  • Sir Pentious ends up in front of a Whomp. The villain is in cahoots due to his inability to outsmart the purple-haired girl.

Winning the mini-game, Yuri eventually parks her flying vehicle in a limestone-paved area near a pile of 10 coins which she takes after getting off. In the meantime, a trio of medical robots on hoverboards are flying above her head rushing in to treat the three losers of the mini-game before they are sent back to the Towering Treetop for the final turn.

Sir Pentious should have 41 coins, less than what the screenshot in the link indicates.

Ah... a short and sweet last turn. The finishing touches, lore, bonus stars, etc. are coming tomorrow! At my time zone of course.

Towering Treetop - Turn 20

  • It's Bandana Dee's turn. He uses his last Chain Chomp Orb, in order to steal a star from Yuri.

    • Chain Chomp: Bark bark bark! <Is a star the thing you want? Feed me the 50 coins first, I'm starving!>

    • Paid the 50 coins (Bandana Dee has a single coin left), the Chain Chomp stomps the ground multiple times in order to jump its way towards Yuri. Being crushed under its weight, the Chain Chomp pickpocket a star from her and bounces its way back to Bandana Dee to give it to him.

    • Chain Chomp: Pant pant pant pant pant... awooooooooo! <Here's a star, stolen just for you. That was exhilarating!>

    • Bandana Dee then hits his Dice Block, getting a 5. Taking his last trip on the pink flower, he lands on a Blue Space, ending with him a coin count of 4 coins.

  • It's Sorbet Shark Cookie's turn. As a last ditch effort, he uses the Sluggish Shroom Orb to roll a 9, content with first place; not risking the possibility of landing on Battle or Duel Spaces to further his lead. Skipping the Capsule Machine, he lands on a Blue Space, taking his coin count up exactly to 70. An Orb Space gave him a Mushroom Orbnote  on his way to the Blue Space, but that didn't matter too much.

  • It's Sir Pentious's turn. He rolls a 7 from his Dice Block, sliding down the wooden slide one last time before landing on a Blue Space, getting 3 coins for a total of 44. A Mushroom Orbnote  was given to him by an Orb Space he happened to pass over, but that doesn't matter on the last turn.

  • It's Yuri's turn. She hits the Dice Block, which spits out a 3. Landing on a Blue Space gives her 3 coins, totaling up to 51.

The last mini-game of the board is decidedly 4-player.

Turn 20 Mini-Game - Bumper Balls (video of minigame)

The last mini-game is an iconic one for sure. The players are in a large colorful airplane. A Goomba in clown makeup brings them four different balls for them to balance on. After it tells them about the rules of the mini-game, the plane swoops down onto a lone grassy island, dropping the four players onto it.

  • While Yuri and Sir Pentious are eventually knocked off the island and rescued by Bloopers in order to pull them to the next closest piece of dry land, Bandana Dee and Sorbet Shark Cookie bumped too much into each other that the plane came swerving back to the two players in order to notify them that the mini-game ended in a draw due to time out.

The remaining two players on the island felt pretty bummed to not get their coins.

It's time for the finale of the first board!

Towering Treetop - Bonus Stars, Final Results, and Epilogue

With the twentieth and final turn over, everybody returns to the start area of Towering Treetop for the final results. Eldstar and Calista review the amounts of stars and coins everybody has.

Eldstar: It's time to introduce the coup de grace of the game! Three out of six bonus stars are randomly chosen. Bonus stars will be given to players based on certain conditions they fulfilled during the board.

A purple star with a shopping cart depicted on it surfaces onto the scene.

Eldstar: The Shopping Star is given to players who spent the most coins in Calsita's shop. The lucky winner of this goes to...

The bonus star moves back and forth before stopping above Bandana Dee's head, dispensing a star.

Eldstar: Bandana Dee with 20 coins spent!

A green star with a question mark depicted on it surfaces next.

Eldstar: The Happening Star is given to players who landed on the most Event Spaces throughout the game. The lucky winner of this goes to...

The bonus star swerves rapidly until it stops above Sorbet Shark Cookie, dispensing out another star.

Eldstar: Sorbet Shark Cookie who landed on Event Spaces 4 times!

A blue star with a Plunder Chest silhouette on it is the last star to come up.

Eldstar: Our final bonus star is the Item Star, which is given to players who used the most items, orbs and whatnot, in the game. Who's going to get the last bonus star?

The star bounces around until it stops above Sorbet Shark Cookie, who takes his second bonus star from it.

Eldstar: Sorbet Shark Cookie with 11 items used! That's a lot!

Calista: And now for the grand finale... who is the Superstar to take this marvelous scepter to stop this self-reliant false queen?

  • Sir Pentious gets fourth place, as an ochre platform rises up from below him.

  • Yuri gets third place, as a bronze platform rises up from below her.

  • Bandana Dee gets second place, as a silver platform rises up from below him.

  • Sorbet Shark Cookie gets first place and therefore the scepter to stop Lady Eboshi, just after a golden platform rises from below him.

Eldstar: The Superstar is Sorbet Shark Cookie! Congratulations!

Calista: Now let us stop her!

The four party goers arrive at a dark spot in the forest. A Kitsune was preparing a sort of oriental ritual to raze Towering Treetop.

Lady Eboshi: Now this'll take a couple of minutes.

Eldstar whispers to Sorbet Shark Cookie with the Rose Scepter.

Eldstar: Now, before the ritual completes itself!

With a wave of the wand the cookie is wielding, the damage that Lady Eboshi tried to inflict is forcibly reverted as a blast of natural magic erases all of the wicked deeds that she tried to do and blows away all her cohorts.

Lady Eboshi: Ah! Foiled by a biscuit! Mark my words, you fiends. Someday my revenge will happen and the dream of a perfect utopia for my homeland can finally become a reality. Farewell.

The wicked lady flees the forest in retreat.

Calista: You actually did it... you guys have been a great help so far!

A blue portal appears right in front of them as another Star Spirit, Muskular, pops out from it.

Muskular: What's up, Eldstar? Some freaky turtle is planning to raze some random harbor town I came across. I gotta gather some bros to help the people over there.

Eldstar: Very well. Our next quest shall be just that.

As the party winds down, Eldstar congratulations the players for a good effort before he and the four players leave Towering Treetop to places unknown... or possibly the next board Muskular is going to by pure coincidence. Time and space may tell...

Final Results

The first board is done! Now a 2-day break can start for me...

Now players can nominate their next character to join the next board: it's going to be custom made!

I'd prefer if you refrain from renominating a character if you already nominated that character in the previous board. Just a heads up. If you missed the first board, go ahead and repost that nomination of yours!

Until next time.

Anyways, a proper example of the Personality field for the nomination forms with SPAS-12 as an example, so people know to follow it later:

Personality: somewhat greedy, resilient, stubborn to a fault, has well balanced performance as a lone player and in a team during minigames, loves to play food-based minigames, had a tendency to exert too much in competitive battles

Let's do this. Let's hope no errors in the post are caught.

Board 2 - Waterboard Village Prologue and First Turn

As Muskular calls in the four partygoers to quell the next threat, he recalls the rules of Mario Party to them before a Kansen named Zuikaku walked over to them.

Zuikaku: I sense a disturbance within this town. Rumors say a beast named Cagnazzo is planning to tear this town to pieces. We need a way to stop it, and fast!

Muskular scans the area and tells them about the events: Zuikaku herself who is ready for a duel for coins, a rock in a ocean with a giant sea shell on it, a boomerang throwing mini-game by a Water Nation native, a fishing mini-game held by an ocean witch, and numerous open houses that are willing to trade in your items for coins.

A mermaid in a human form walks to the players to tell them about the shop. She is Sun Seto, known as the princess of a supernatural gang of yakuzas.

Sun Seto: If you guys want any help, I've got a seedy black market hidden in an alleyway around here somewhere. I need all the coins I can get from you lot, I have a family to support!

Muskular: Nice, now that's all set, you better start smashing those Dice Blocks!

Neo Cortex got a 4. King Dedede got a 8. Larry the Lobster got a 1. Alivia got a 2.

Muskular: The order's set, guys! We have King Dedede in first, Neo Cortex in second, Alivia in third, and Larry in last.

Zuikaku lends each player 10 coins to start the party with during the time that a Star Space appears a couple spaces near a Duel Space.

Muskular: Let's get ready to rumbbbblllleeeee!

  • It's King Dedede's turn. He hits his Dice Block with his hammer, which spits out an 8. He passes by an Orb Space that gives him a Mushroom Orbnote  before taking a stop at a Blue Space, giving him a new coin count of 13.

  • It's Neo Cortex's turn. He hits the Dice Block, getting a 10. Passing his way over an Orb Space, which gave him a Cashzap Orbnote , he lands on a Blue Space which is right next to the alleyway leading to the shop.

  • It's Alivia's turn. Hitting the Dice Block gives her a 1, which puts her onto the Blue Space right at the beginning of her path.

  • It's Larry's turn. Hitting the Dice Block nets him a 8, which allows him to land on the space the self-proclaimed king of Dream Land was already on. The Orb Space he passed by to get there gave him a Kamek Orbnote .

Muskular: Cool! A 4-player mini-game! Let's see what these folks are gonna play...

Turn 1 Mini-Game - Triple Jump (video of minigame)

The players arrive on a floating island on top of a sea of pastel clouds. A Goomba tells them about the mini-game and tells them to do magical triple jumps to get the farthest distance possible. The Goomba returns to his 30m podium as he tells the players to start taking turns trying to jump the farthest.

  • King Dedede goes a distance of 63.33 meters.

  • Dr. Cortex goes a distance of 48.20 meters.

  • Alivia goes a distance of 32.68 meters.

  • Larry goes a distance of 49.34 meters.

With King Dedede winning the minigame by a slight landslide, a Lakitu drops in and gives King Dedede his 10 coins as the penguin gloats about his win.

Waterboard Village - Turn 2

  • It's King Dedede's turn. He pops open his Mushroom Orb in order to hit two Dice Blocks on his own turn. The Dice Blocks end up spitting out a 4 and a 1, resulting in a total amount of 5 spaces to move across. He stops by the shop to find out what's in display.

    • Sun Seto: I won't take refunds, but I'm sure you'll find something you'll want dearly.

    • The items on sale are: Kamek Orb (10 Coins), Plunder Chest (15 Coins), Waddle Dee Orb (10 Coins)

    • Dedede immediately bought the Waddle Dee Orb on first sight. "How could a harmless lil' creature be stuck inside a capsule?", he thought.

    • Sun Seto: Come back any time.

    • King Dedede lands on a Blue Space, raising his coin count to 16.

  • It's Neo Cortex's turn. He hits the Dice Block and gets a 6. Skipping by the shop, he lands on a Blue Space, getting 3 coin and taking the lead along with King Dedede.

  • It's Alivia's turn. She hits her Dice Block and gets a 6, passing by an Orb Space that gave her a Thwomp Orbnote  before stopping at an Event Space. An old man opens the door to the house directly next to it.

    • Old Man: My grandchildren and I are making pottery to sell. Would you mind helping us with carrying some for us to sell?

    • Alivia declines, as she was unsure if she would do well since she was not confident of her coordination.

  • It's Larry's turn. He punches the Dice Block with one of his claws. The block shattered, leaving a 4. Skipping by the shop, wary of human life, he stops on a Red Space, as his coin count plummets down to 10.

The second turn's mini-game is a 1-vs-3 match with the sea creature against everyone else. Good thing Bubbles caught wind of this forum game's plot and gave him the ability to breathe on land.

Turn 2 Mini-Game - Hop, Drop, and Roll (video of minigame)

The players end up landing in a large castle. A knight and a Whomp tells Larry about the mini-game as the other three players are pushed into the arena by Moblins. The Whomp activates a lever to start up the machine Larry was set to pilot so that the mini-game can start.

  • Alivia is knocked out first by a Grrrol bumping into her.

  • King Dedede is flattened by another Grrrol as Neo Cortex gets eliminated by being in the crossfire of a Bullet Bill at the same time.

The Whomp gives Larry his 10 coins for eliminating the other three players just before clerics came rushing in to try to heal the losers.

Waterboard Village - Turn 3

  • It's King Dedede's turn. He immediately uses the Waddle Dee Orb in order to have a kind of lackey he remembers using often to fetch him a free item for him to use. He ends up getting a Lakitu Orbnote , giving him the potential to steal items from his opponents.

    • He then hits the Dice Block for this turn, getting a 7. He takes the route up the bridge to land himself onto a Blue Space, now with 19 coins.

  • It's Neo Cortex's turn. He smacks the Dice Block and rolls a 2. Rubbing his hands just before making his plan to shake up the game a little, he lands himself on a Battle Space, causing an explosion to go off under his feet. Bombette and her Battle mini-game crew have just arrived once again.

    • Bombette: Looks like it's time for a Battle Mini-Game! I'm your host, Bombette. I'm going to blow up this box that one of my folks placed here so I know what amount of coins all players are going to wager.

    • She uses Bomb on the wooden box and in the box was a large stone tablet with the number 10 etched onto it.

    • Bombette: It's 10 coins per person. I'm requesting everyone on this board to give us your coins for the prize pool. Sorry, but it's how it works.

    • After the Bob-omb crew took the coins from all four players (one had quite the hassle with Dr. Neo Cortex), Bombette was about ready to request Muskular to take them to the area where the Battle Mini-game will be held.

    • Bombette: All right, that's 40 coins in total. May the best win! A Bob-omb referee will be coming with you guys to the mini-game location shortly.

Turn 3 Battle Mini-Game - Aim of the Game (video of minigame)

The players are taken to a theater adorned with regal decor in pre-French Revolution France. Oscar François de Jarjayes happened to be there for unknown reasons and explained to them about the magical top hat and the cards within it. As they listen to the mini-game instructions, several Koopa Troopas with time-appropriate headwear arm muskets in order to prepare the four for the game.

The four players get into their position as the top hat starts spewing out antique playing cards with big fancy Arabic numbers and/or x's on them, indicating the mini-game has already just begun.

  • King Dedede's hit cards in order are a 50, a 20, a 10, and two more 20s, totaling up to 120 points.

  • Neo Cortex's hit cards in order are a 10, a 5, another 10, a 50, and a 20, totaling up to 95 points.

  • Alivia's hit cards in order are a 50, a 5, another 50, another 5, and a 20, totaling up to 130 points.

  • Larry's hit cards in order are a x0, a 5, two 20s in a row, and a 10, totaling up to 55 points.

As the Bob-omb referee splits up the prize pool (Alivia gets 28 coins, King Dedede gets 10 coins, Neo Cortex gets 2 coins), the players and the Bob-omb referee return to the board, where the players are returned fairly to their spaces.

Bombette congratulates the players for a great game, before heading off the board with the hovercraft.

  • It's Alivia's turn. She hits her Dice Block, getting a 7. She stops by the shop in order to see what Sen Suto has in store.

    • Sun Seto: I won't take refunds, but I'm sure you'll find something you'll want dearly...

    • The items on sale are: Mega Mushroom (10 Coins), Cashzap Orb (15 Coins), Lakitu Orb (10 Coins)

    • Alivia purchases the Mega Mushroom as she caresses its smooth, cyan surface, planning to make great strides with it.

    • Sun Seto: Come back any time.

    • Alivia ends up landing on a Miracle Space. A beam of light shines on her as she is sent to the start area.

    • Muskular: Welcome to Chance Time, folks! Coins and stars will be up at stake in this event. Will luck be in your favor? Go on, hit this block right above you!

    • A glowing box appears above Alivia's head. She hits it once and King Dedede's face is shown projected to the left of the ethereal display above Muskular. She hits it again and Neo Cortex's maniacal mug appears to the right of the display.

    • The resulting event is an arrow pointing towards King Dedede with a sign reading "50 coins" above it.

    • Muskular: That's a pretty massive haul! Neo Cortex has to give King Dedede 50 coins!

    • Neo Cortex and King Dedede fall onto the start area onto their rear ends. Neo Cortex watches in shock as his paltry 8 coins are sent towards King Dedede, leaving the king with 27 coins and the mad scientist with absolutely nothing.

    • With Chance Time finished, everyone except Larry, who was already on his space, are sent back to their spaces.

  • It's Larry's turn. He hits the Dice Block, getting a 6. He lands on a Blue Space, sending his coin count up to 13.

Another 4-player mini-game signals the final part of the third turn as Muskular prepares to whisk them into another location for the mini-game.

Turn 3 Mini-Game - Totem Pole Pound (video of minigame)

The players find themselves in a canyon. There, a Spear Guy tells them about the instructions of the mini-game that they're about to play. The Spear Guy eventually leaves soon after he tells them to stand in a rank, straight line. Four Totem Bros. sprout out from under the partygoers' feet as the mini-game begins.

  • Larry is the winner of the mini-game by pounding his column of Totem Bros. out of existence first.

The Spear Guy comes back holding a sack of coins in order to congratulate him for the performance in the mini-game. Inside is the predicted 10 coin prize.
