Mario Party Overboarded

Go To

Overview and Instructions

A lone comet flies over the Mushroom Kingdom once every thousand years. This comet contains the Millenium Star, a sacred object that heralded the commencement of festivities. After the universe was renewed once, Mario still had the chance to watch the comet fly across the sky again. But during mid-flight it shattered. The Celestial Eon, which controlled the balance and flow of the omniverse went missing all across planets and solar systems. As invaders ruptured from the twisting of reality as Peach’s Castle started being ambushed, Mario knew something was wrong. Luckily, the Star Spirits who stopped Bowser once and helped run the Dream Depot noticed this and enlisted heroes and unwilling villains to combine together to stop the legion of foes who have secured pieces of the artifact, believing it would grant them wishes and power. The party commences like never before.

4 players every board work to gather stars and coins in order to play multiple boards in a game usually referred to as Mario Party. Using a Dice Block usually numbered 1-10, they move across spaces in set paths in order to reach first place. While the game of Mario Party itself is competitive, story-wise every player is working towards the same goal to restore balance to each world and board they come across. Each of the four players are able to carry up to 3 items that have special effects. Each item they carry can only be used once so choose wisely. Every 6 boards are its own plotline, which is connected to the larger, main plot.

Every player can nominate a character in-between board intermissions. Make sure the post where a character in nominated is written in the outline nested within the folder for it below.

Mario Party knowledge is required, but only the basic essentials. If you know how a game of Mario Party works (the Gamecube games and 8 are recommended but not required for game knowledge), you’re fine.

Almost all actions that happen during board play is controlled by the GM (currently leafsaber47). Unique content will be explained either at the explanation update before the board officially begins, and item rules will be recapped and/or explained as a sort of footnote to every update once a player gets them or arrives at the shop for the first time during a turn.

Spaces and how they look on the board map
  • Blue Space - Gives the player 3 coins. Appearance is exactly what it says on the tin.
  • Red Space - Takes away 3 coins from the player. Appearance is exactly what it says on the tin.
  • Event Space - If the player lands on this space exactly the number of spaces to move across as shown on their dice a event happens that automatically is written about in the update. A green space with a question mark.
  • Miracle Space - Initiates Chance Time. The two players and the resulting trade are determined by the GM. A green space with a stylized star on it.
  • Star Space - A space that can’t be landed on but will automatically give players a star if they have the right amount of coins to purchase it (usually 20). A unique appearance shared with the Orb Space but with a golden star instead of a red orb. If a person during the turn has bought the star for sale, the update will say where the Star Space moves to next immediately after the star is bought.
  • Evil Space - A space that initiates a random negative effect on the user based on who is the villain behind the current events in the story. A generic Bowser Space with black background with a red skull and crossbones symbol.
  • Lucky Space - If the player lands on this space, they will be transported to a separate area of the board filled with Blue Spaces and coins that lead the player usually to a free star. If they end up getting the free gift and they have moves left on the dice, they return to the board on the Lucky Space with all remaining moves forfeited. A yellow space with an eighth note in orange.
  • Battle Space - If the player lands on this space, a side scene where the Battle Mini-Game process is initiated prompting players to choose three minigames for them to decide on. Run by Bombette from Paper Mario, she will always choose the minigame which was picked the least when a tie occurs. Up for grabs are coins waged by all players. Lower pots than what Bombette expects will happen. Is a green space that features her likeness.
  • Duel Space - If the player lands on this space, they will decide on who to duel with, which their target is decided by the GM. A duel minigame commences, and the winner of the minigame will steal coins and/or a star from the loser. The winner’s loot will be determined by the GM. Represented by crossed swords in purple colors and background.
  • Orb Space - Can’t be landed on like the Star Space but will give a random orb to a player who passes it, which is revealed when they pass it.

    Common Events
  • Capsule Machines - Will give you a random orb item if a player who interacts with them has 2 or less items in their inventory. Appears a caricature of itself.
  • Shop - If their player happens to pass by the shop during their move and has at least 5 coins and is not under a transformation effect, they may purchase one item from the shop’s selection in the current turn. Only one appears per board. Appears as a common real-life shop symbol.

    How to Nominate
  • Character Name: - (link to image of character)
  • Series:
  • Personality (think of it as a backbone to a unique CPU in the Mario Party games. How do they behave during minigames and board play, what do they do with certain and all items, what minigames do they prefer and do well at, and what bonus star do they want the most?):

Nothing suspicious here folks

Gerudo Trade Center - Turn 8

   Malevolent Moment begins!

Past the walled off marketplace, in the sandy dunes, a greenish bare foot makes a harsh stomp on the sand. It is the Demon King of a far-future Hyrule, Ganondorf. He stops for a moment to make a return laugh, then begins his speech.

Ganondorf:    How they have desecrated this important land for their amusement… They have made a great mistake! They must witness a king mid-vengeance!

Ganondorf then attempts to do a Dead Man’s Volley magic spell made by the Ganondorf that was quelled by the Hero of Time.

Ganondorf:    This must work… surely such ancient hexes like this must be still potent!

The deadly yellow projectiles fly off and by some chance, head straight towards Recette’s shop in its little wagon that is located in. Recette was thoughtful and protected herself with a barrier spell.

Recette: That was close. It feels like a Demon King’s presence is afoot. Damn. I thought this day would be an easy one!

Tear, who had noticed the issue afoot, flies her way towards Misstar and tells her about how Recette’s shop is currently out of commission.

Tear: My prior client, Recette Lemongrass, cannot serve anyone for a short while. I am afraid there is someone behind the destruction of her shop’s temporary location.

Misstar: Understood. Such information shall be relayed to the players around for now!

  • It’s Corva Penryu’s turn. She nails her Dice Block with a volley of sorcerous bursts of energy comets, and out from the Dice Block is a 4. She goes to the Orb Space right in front of her, collects a Flower Orbnote  from it, and then goes towards the Blue Space right in front of the starting area of the board.

  • It’s Kasumi Toyama’s turn. She pulls out her Flutter Orb and summons a Flutter to her aid.
    • Flutter: Thanks for calling me over! I'm here to take you to the Star Space. Hang on tight.
    • Flutter picks up the brunette idol; despite weighing less than her and carries her out of the marketplace area of the board and right onto the Star Space on the far right of the board, in the desert outskirts.
    • Flutter: Good luck out there! Tell them I sent you!
    • Warping straight towards Kasumi Toyama is Misstar.
    • Misstar: I see you’re quite the resourceful one! Do you want a star for 20 coins?
    • Kasumi Toyama is obviously not taking no for an answer. With a new star purchased by her, she furthers her lead with a 2-star count, while the other three players either have zero or one star. Since another Star has been purchased by a player, the Star Space moves to a different location again. It is now located near the bottom of the board, just several moves away from a nature-loving green-haired girl with thighhighs.
    • Kasumi Toyama then rolls her Dice Block and gets a 3. She stops on the Blue Space that is in front of the doors that’ll lead her back inside the marketplace — hope Ganondorf isn’t putting pressure on the visitors and vendors there this turn!

  • It’s Snoopy’s turn. He takes out his Goomba Orb and throws it at the Red Space in front of the current Star Space location. After that, he hits his Dice Block and rolls a 10. Well.
    • Snoopy enters the junction with seven moves left from his Dice Block and goes straight forward, not bothering to turn. There is an Orb Space in his current path. It gives him a Bone Orbnote . Snoopy is delighted! A bone for him to futz around with, and no Chain Chomp can take any of his coins (or his stars) away from him! Snoopy passes over a Red Space, then walks onto the Blue Space right after said Red Space.
    • Snoopy then turns around to face north, then keeps moving straight up the path before him, stopping on a Blue Space, just a move short from walking on a second Red Space.

  • It’s Ena Shinonome’s turn. She immediately takes out her Chain Chomp Orb, not wanting to waste effort on potentially losing another minigame or rolling too high for the Star Space that is potentially within ten spaces away from her. Her fourth place standing is grating on her, so she’s planning the Chain Chomp to get coins from Corva Penryu to knock her down a peg.
    • The Chain Chomp that is summoned listens to her instructions.
    • Chain Chomp: Arf arf! <You want me to steal something for you? No problem!>
    • The Chain Chomp performs another physics and reality-defying leap straight towards Corva Penryu, who was outside in the desert dunes. It lands on her and comically flattens her like a rug… and takes one coin from her. One. Measly. Coin.
    • Eventually it makes its way back to Ena Shinonome, slinking to her location as to not cause a single ruckus moment and spiritlessly throws the single coin onto Ena Shinonome, who groans in discontent.
    • Chain Chomp: Whimper… <I only got one coin…>
    • The Chain Chomp makes its leave, and Ena Shinonome has no choice but to hit her Dice Block and see what she’ll get. She rolls a 2.
    • After using her first move, she decides to go south on the junction that will lead her to the space she’ll land on. She lands on a Blue Space at the other end of the junction. The green-haired nature lover is just nearby… will Ena Shinonome plan to have her steal something from another player?

It’s time for a 4-player battle royale. There’s a peculiar feeling that something is, er… different this turn… but no worry! It’s still going to be minigame time regardless!

Turn 8 Mini-Game - Kirby on the Draw (video of minigame)

The players find themselves somewhere peculiar, a scenic view of what seems to be a lone Wild West saloon. Corva casts a Wizard Eye spell on the place. The whole desert’s a ruse. They’re in a specific location in Magoland somewhere in Planet Popstar, though none of the partiers know that it’s an amusement park by Magolor’s handiwork, assumedly. Corva has a hunch her purple-haired chat buddy warned her about some place like this, but she sure can’t place her finger on it…

A sentient yet small being is walking across the fake sand trying to figure a way out of the place before bumping into Snoopy, who is roughly twice the height of the thing. It is revealed to be Woody, a toy from somewhere definitely not of Popstar. He could have some relation to Adeleine, an immigrant to Planet Popstar, though he himself doesn’t know that — and neither does the partiers.

Woody: Oh man, I’m not seeing this am I? A dog on two legs? I’m seriously not getting too old, right?

He then looks up and realizes Snoopy is with three other humans and realizes he’s pulling a Sid.

Woody: All right, mutt. I’ll tell you this once. I have no idea where I’ve ended up, but I keep seeing these big, round things wandering about like little kids. There’s something here that I swear is giving me faint and fuzzy feelings to my dream sheriff years, but I have dedicated the rest of my life to the carnival as a toy philanthropist! Wants me to buy a ticket or something! Do I look like I care about Monopoly money? (sighs) I know. I got a bit out of it. I’ll see you around.

Snoopy thinks, pulls out a typewriter from Hammerspace, writes something with it, then tears off the paper from the typewriter and hands it to Corva Penryu and the others to read. The other three players nod in understanding then turns towards a Waddle Dee tending to the booth positioned in front of the minigame location. They walk up to it, who is wearing the standard blue Magoland uniform. It begins talking about the minigame and its instructions, then hands each of the four players a toy-like revolver (what a coincidence) with a magazine size of eight rounds.

Waddle Dee: Just so you know, I’ve heard something about this from your fellows, right? You’re off the hook this time! Now, just stand behind the wooden railing over there as we begin operation of your game.

The players stand behind the playfield of the minigame, fingers on the triggers of their guns. A whistle of some sort sounds out as the minigame begins.

  • About a quarter of the way in the mini-game, decoy Bombers start appearing in the minigame amongst all the normal targets. The first one didn’t manage to fool a single player, but the second one that appears caused Kasumi Toyama to have her points thrown back to zero because she wasn’t aiming at a Cappy target properly.
  • Several more seconds pass, and a Waddle Doo target pops up on the side of a barrel. Thanks to the cactus, no one was able to hit it in time before it went away, in which another one soon took its place. Kasumi Toyama was soon to hit that Waddle Doo target over the previous Waddle Doo target, though.
  • About a half a minute more pass, and nobody has mistakenly hit a Bomber. They wait as the Waddle Dee running the minigame announces the results.
    • Far behind the others is Ena Shinonome, with a last place standing of 70 points.
    • With exactly 300 points is Kasumi Toyama, taking third.
    • Snoopy, the runner-up, has 390 points.
    • Corva Penryu, with 480 points, wins the minigame.

The Waddle Dee congratulates Corva Penryu and awards her enough Dedededollars for the obligatory 10-coin minigame payout. Finally, no minigame draw this time…

Corva Penryu - Turn 8 Aftermath

After the mini-game is over, Corva contacts Mahke to pass the time.

"That mini-game was different, Mahke," sighs a triumphant Corva. "Who would have thought we played a Kirby-themed mini-game?"

Over the phone, Mahke's voice grumbles, "Let me guess... Did that stupid egghead ruin your fun?"

"Not exactly. We just had target practice, and I won! Fun, right?"

"Good. If that stupid yellow-eyed freak shows up at all during your game, I'm gonna give him an agonizing bath!"

Welp. Mahke still hates Magolor's guts. It is obvious that she has a big chip on her shoulders, regarding that dirty backstabber in cute plushie body.

there's like three or four numbers i could reference here

Gerudo Trade Center - Turn 9

  • It’s Corva Penryu’s turn. She rolls her Dice Block and rolls a 10. She uses the first half of the moves from her Dice Block before stopping midway to let the gates open so she can get into the trade center of the board itself. Corva once again ignores the Capsule Machine that goes past her gaze and collects a Chain Chomp Orbnote  of her own from the Orb Space that just laid ahead a few moves after the living gachapon. For her tenth move, Corva must pass her way across a junction and chooses to go down south, aiming to reach the Star Space first before anyone else does. She lands on the same Blue Space that Ena Shinonome is currently situated on, as the red-haired witch slowly turns her head towards the pugnacious, brazen brunette idol and forms a very smug smile. Corva Penryu knows very well about the 1-coin Chain Chomp Orb flub Ena had the previous turn…

  • It’s Kasumi Toyama’s turn. Hitting the Dice Block nets her a 4. Before she can use her Dice Block moves, she’ll have to wait for the wooden gates back into the marketplace she used her Flutter Orb to fly out of. She lands on a Blue Space after making her way through the opened gates (which of course shuttered close behind her back). Initially expecting the usual 3 coins the Blue Space will gift her, she is surprised to find a Hidden Block appear above her head, being hidden in the Blue Space she just stopped on for almost half the game. She hits it.
    • The Hidden Block had 17 coins inside of it as Kasumi happily collects them all, along with 3 extra coins from the Blue Space she is standing on itself.

  • It’s Snoopy’s turn. He hits his Dice Block and rolls a 7. After passing over a Red Space for his first move, he comes across a split path, to choose a direction to turn towards. He turns left, then comes across an intersection junction, in which he can choose to keep going forward or make a turn towards the north. Doing the latter, he stops on an Event Space as a blue-haired deity walks towards him, leaning forward to look at him.
    • Idunn: Well. Can’t really say for certain I’ve seen you before. From Yggdrasil, I am the apple goddess, Idunn… along with my twin sister, Idunna, who’s the blonde one you see behind you.
    • Snoopy is luckily able to distinguish between the two Norse goddesses despite his deuteranopia.
    • Idunn: You must be really here for our golden apples. Sorry, but I can’t give such a thing to lowly Midgard lifeforms.
    • Snoopy pulls out his typewriter again and writes something with it, tears off the paper from the roll it comes out of and shoves it in her face. Idunn is humbled and rethinks herself.
    • Idunn: (Beat) My sincerest apologies. If it’s for another fellow goddess, then I shall do so gratis. Keep onto this with all your heart.
    • Snoopy takes the golden apple in hope he can carry it all the way to Holo, a stone’s throw away from the Water-attribute monster duo.

  • It’s Ena Shinonome’s turn. She hits her Dice Block and gets a 4.
    • She passes by the ever-watching nature-loving girl with green hair and turns towards her general viewing direction, indirectly motioning her to interact with her. She is Jasmine, who was raised in the Forest of Silence, not too close in concept to the Lost Woods of Hyrule.
    • Jasmine: Hey. I’m Jasmine. You must be here to request my hunting services, no? I can steal something from another player for 5 coins, but if you really want something in particular… fork me thrice that amount. What say you?
    • Ena Shinonome doesn’t think she will pay Jasmine; she will be landing on a Blue Space soon and have just enough coins for the star at the Star Space just around the bend. Can’t waste coins on something that either doesn’t really contribute to her coinage or can directly make up for her lost coins but is likely to leave her with a big deficit. She’s not happy with the Chain Chomp that only gave her only one coin last turn…
    • Jasmine: You really wanted to bail? Fine with me, then. If you decide to wisen up, I’ll be waiting.
    • She goes back to hide behind the crates and barrels in this specific part of the market as Ena Shinonome continues on with her turn.
    • Ena lands on a Blue Space and now has the coins to spend on a star.

It’s time for a 1-vs-3 minigame. Can the sole animal of the partiers win this minigame? Or will the girl trio win instead?

Turn 9 Mini-Game - Pop Star (video of minigame)

The players are taken to a carnival where a balloon popping event is hosted. Snoopy takes the platform where a red balloon is attached to. The other three players hop onto pad-like pumps on the blue platform, attached to a similarly colored balloon. The mini-game starts the moment Snoopy lifts up the hammer he’s been given.

  • Snoopy’s balloon ends up popping into confetti first, while the team of three were at least trying to compete with the cartoon canine.

A Fly Guy heads towards the boisterous beagle and gives him the 10-coin prize.

Ouch, one day off the the turn number.

Gerudo Trade Center - Turn 10

  • It’s Corva Penryu’s turn. She pulls out her Flower Orb and uses it. Something appeared behind her — as the red-haired witch turns her back, she is content with the fact the giant flower floating behind her is a rose. Corva then hits her Dice Block and rolls an 8. She saunters her way past Jasmine and Ena Shinonome to make her way to the Orb Space just in front of the latter.
    • Collecting a Vampire Orbnote  from it, Corva then walks past the Miracle Space right after the Orb Space then makes a quick left turn towards where the Star Space is located. She stops at the Star Space and waits for Misstar to appear before her.
    • Misstar: My, that’s a pretty flower that’s tailing you. I hope you don’t mind paying up 20 coins for a star?
    • Corva Penryu says yes and finally gets her first star of the game. The Star Space changes location: it’s back in the far east of the board. If only a Reverse Mushroom were here for Kasumi…
    • Before using her last move, Corva Penryu has to choose which direction to head in via one of the board’s many junctions. She heads eastward. She stops on a Blue Space and gets 3 coins from it. The rose behind her bursts away and bestows 24 more coins upon her.

  • It’s Kasumi Toyama’s turn. She hits her Dice Block and rolls a 7. She collects yet another Flutter Orbnote  from the Orb Space a couple spaces in front of her. She then goes around the bend around the Lucky Space she landed on a few turns ago and stops just a move or two near the intersection that converge towards a path heading straight towards Recette’s shop. The Blue Space she stops on gives her 3 coins.

  • It's Snoopy’s turn. He hits his Dice Block and rolls a 4. He heads towards the Blue Space directly up north from his current location then turns sharply left to collect an Orb from the same Orb Space Kasumi Toyama had gone over just a while earlier. It’s an Urchin Orbnote . Snoopy gets rid of his Flower Orb for it and then continues onwards with his Dice Block moves.
    • He stops on a Blue Space, just a few steps shy of the Lucky Space of the board.

  • It’s Ena Shinonome’s turn. She immediately takes out her Flutter Orb and pops it open. Flying into the market, straight from the skies above is a Flutter. It’s ready to take her to the Star Space just outside the market premises.
    • Flutter: Thanks for calling me over! I'm here to take you to the Star Space. Hang on tight.
    • Another Flutter, another brunette girl using it to get to a Star Space… funny how it’s the same location in which Kasumi Toyama took a Flutter Orb use there.
    • The Flutter slowly carries Ena to the Star Space located in the arid conditions of the sands and then bids her goodbye.
    • Flutter: Good luck out there! Tell them I sent you!
    • Misstar appears before Ena Shinonome to ask her for a very starry opportunity.
    • Misstar: Wow, strange minds do think very alike. I assume you are here for the star, yes? Are you sure you have the coins for that?
    • Just enough! Ena Shinonome trucks away all 20 of her current coins and is granted her first star in exchange. She’s still stuck in fourth, but at least she has at least one star like everyone else…
    • With another Star obtained, a new location for the Star Space is to be assigned to… it’s back on the other side of the board, repeating its behavior of settling outside in the desert instead of inside the marketplace area in the middle of the board.
    • Ena Shinonome then hits her Dice Block and ends up rolling a 7. The first three moves from the Dice Block are used up as Ena arrives at the gates that lead back inside the marketplace area of the board. She restively waits for the gates to open up. They eventually do as Ena heads through them, which starts closing behind her as she ends up landing on the same Blue Space Kasumi Toyama unearthed a Hidden Block from. No Hidden Block for her this time though.

It's time for a 4-player free-for-all tussle. What could possibly be chosen this time around?

Turn 10 Mini-Game - Barreling Along (video of minigame)

The four players are stuck on a massive stack of barrels on a wooden ship stuck on an unknown harbor set on what appears to be a quite tropical coastline. A piece of yellowed pell carried through the wind currents pins itself on Ena Shinonome’s face, much to her perplexion. She sees what’s on it and because it has the minigame’s instructions on it (coincidentially) she relents and shows it to the other three players as if to play it fair.

Suddenly, a throng of Ukikis made their way onboard the ship and crashed into the barrels, scattering the barrels all over the place. Each of the players are now rolling on barrels with a distinctive smear of a unique color on them trying to not lose their balance on their respective barrels.

The players’ barrels fall down to the port below and in front of the ship they arrived on. Someone the barrels are still intact as the barrels make a sharp left turn somewhere to escape another mob of Ukikis on their trail.

The players come across a uniquely marked line in white, and what lies ahead is hidden by large patches of overgrown grass. They’ll have to see what lies ahead — especially because they might need someone stout and strong enough to take the barrels, they’re rolling on off their hands… er, feet. The four players slowly roll each of their barrels with their feet off the start line as the minigame starts. Now their legs are going to have to book it to the end of the path.

  • Soon, Corva Penryu reaches the finish of the minigame first. She had the lead, then lost it to both Snoopy and Ena Shinonome, but regained her lead in the last few seconds. Her time: 0’28”99, a new record.

There is a strong sailor in blue that stops the barrel Corva is on in its tracks and picks her up to place her on solid ground. He is Skipper of Fa’Diel.

Skipper: Phew. This is the fifth time this has happened in the past several weeks! You sure it wasn’t those imp-like monkeys running amok here?

Skipper gives Corva Penryu 10 pieces of lucre. That’s 10 Mushroom World coins in the bag!

Corva Penryu - Turn 10 Star Get

After getting the star, Corva Penryu dances like, much to the consternation of everyone else around.

You Got a Star!

Corva Penryu - Barreling Around Aftermath

Satisfied with her victory, Corva juggles her Star and her 10 coins earned from the minigame while rolling around on the barrel as a way to rub the salt in her opponents. What a sore winner.

well at least update gap day count matches turn number

Gerudo Trade Center - Turn 11

  • It’s Corva Penryu’s turn. By the existence of a Flutter Orb in Kasumi Toyama’s inventory, Corva knows she’s going to use it as soon as possible and further her lead even further. It was time for Corva to take off the proverbial gloves as Corva Penryu opens up her Chain Chomp Orb. She gets greeted by a Chain Chomp — and promptly asks it to steal a star away from the brown-haired idol.
    • Chain Chomp: Bark bark bark! <Is a star the thing you want? Feed me the 50 coins first, I'm starving!>
    • Corva does so and watches it leap across the marketplace in order to land squarely on Kasumi Toyama, who was straight up north from the pugilistic witch. With the star it stole in its mouth, it leaps straight back towards Corva Penryu, who’s allowed to take the star from its mouth in a well-bred manner.
    • Chain Chomp: Pant pant pant pant pant… awooooooooo! <Here's a star, stolen just for you. That was exhilarating!>
    • With Corva Penryu temporarily taking the lead place away from Kasumi Toyama until she, with near-certainty, uses her Flutter Orb from her inventory to just offset the star she just lost, she intrepidly proceeds to smash the Dice Block appearing above her apart. Out from its remains is a 6.
    • Madame Penryu moves towards the Orb Space and funds out what it gives her: a Numel Orbnote  — which she reacts to with an air of indifference before continuing to use up her Dice Block moves.
    • She stops on a Blue Space and gets 3 coins. This particular Blue Space is right behind a Red Space, and after said Red Space is a junction: either go straight west towards Recette’s wagoned shop or head outside to the arid and dry dunes outside in the valley. Wonder what direction she’ll take?

  • It’s Kasumi Toyama’s turn. As if Corva Penryu was a psychic, Kasumi Toyama immediately pounces on the opportunity to use the Flutter Orb she just got a turn ago so she can get a free trip to the Star Space laid outside the market premises.
    • Flutter: Thanks for calling me over! I'm here to take you to the Star Space. Hang on tight.
    • Another round of “idols reliant on Flutter Orbs” happens as the Flutter, with slight difficulty, directly deposits her at the Star Space outside in the desert, before making its departure.
    • Flutter: Good luck out there! Tell them I sent you!
    • Misstar teleports in front of Kasumi Toyama, now in astonishment at how fast the Flutter Orb using-brunettes are taking a lot of shortcuts to Star Spaces now.
    • Misstar: Whoa, you folks are really efficient at doing this. It’s been done thrice already — and I wonder if we’ll get more. Are you willing to get another star, then?
    • Of course, Kasumi Toyama says yes and returns to a two-star count after being set back to one for a short moment. With another Star collected, another Star Space appears somewhere else on the board, it’s back in the marketplace area of the board, deep in the southern portion of the board. In fact, it’s the same location in which Corva Penryu managed to get her first star. Will the Star Space location ever pick a new location to spawn at again instead of choose the same three locations every time it moves?
    • Kasumi Toyama hits her Dice Block and manages to roll a 1, which does dampen her chipper mood for a moment or two. She goes and collects a Piranha Plant Orbnote  right in front of her via the Orb Space there, and then stops on the next Blue Space on the path right afterwards.

  • It’s Snoopy’s turn. He hits his Dice Block and rolls a 10. He goes around the bend where Lucky Space is smack dab in the middle of, and eventually turns right towards the location of Recette’s shop. His full inventory means he cannot enter the shop, not that he’d like to anyways. Before using his last Dice Block move, he waits for the wooden gates outside the marketplace to open up so he can get on the Blue Space on the other side. When the gates do so, he darts right through them before they shut back up. The Blue Space he lands on bequeaths three coins onto him.

  • It's Ena Shinonome’s turn. Jealous of how well her rival idol’s doing in the game, she unleashes her Toady Orb to force an empty inventory of items onto her as Ena gets whatever Kasumi Toyama might have stashed away (not that she is acutely aware that Corva Penryu has been gunning to compete against Kasumi’s leading standing too). In flies a Toady.
    • Toady: What inventory do you want to nick this time, pal?
    • Ena Shinonome of course asks it to swap Ena’s empty pockets with Kasumi Toyama’s inventory.
    • Toady: Toodles.
    • Ena Shinonome, with a dorky grin, then goes and hits her Dice Block. She ends up rolling an 8. A move in and Ena walks over an Orb Space; this one gave her a Flower Orbnote , which she just dumped. She then walks around the same path Snoopy took during his turn but stops right before the four-way intersection leading towards the Lemongrass shop — on a Blue Space, which gives her 3 coins.

Time for the second 4-player minigame in a row! What shall the players be playing this turn?

Turn 11 Mini-Game - Cherry-Go-Round (video of minigame)

The players find themselves on the outskirts of Sweet Sweet Canyon, normally a location reserved for kart races. Somebody has set up some kind of cherry throw competition. Just before any one of the players get onto one of the shortbread platforms where a supersized cherry lays in waiting, they are shortly interrupted by a Slurpuff, who barks at them for a while for being too hasty, then actually barks out the instructions of the mini game. Snoopy, able to speak fluent dog, manages to give the other three players information on the minigame by typing out what he thinks it said via some fancy-shmancy typewriter work.

Soon, the players seem to be ready as each of the four players are holding each cherry with both hands, ready to spin around. The slowly start to accelerate in rotation, starting the minigame off without a hitch.

  • Five seconds pass and the players let go of their loaned cherries and watch them fly and then see how far they landed.
  • Snoopy is ranked last with a cherry travel distance of 9.11 meters.
  • In third place is Kasumi Toyama, with the cherry she threw going 10.3 meters.
  • Ena Shinonome surprises with a high throw distance of 17.5 meters…
  • …however, that excellence from Ena wasn’t enough to trounce Corva Penryu, who is first place in the minigame. 17.7 meters cherry throw, wow; yet another record setter for the scarlet Magic Knight!

A gingerbread Shy Guy walks over to Corva Penryu, wiping off some sweat from her forehead, and gives her 10 coins before walking away. Don’t worry, those aren’t chocolate coins. They’re real and bonafide Mushroom World coins.

Corva Penryu - Turn 11 Aftermath

Although her rival was in the lead again, Mahke is satisfied with her stolen Star and the victory in this round's minigame. She's doing decently, it seems. Next time, she'll save enough for another Chomp Orb and rob yet another Star from Kasumi. Maybe that Vampire Orb will give her enough dough to cover those costs. What a devilish plan...
