Mario Party Overboarded

Go To

Overview and Instructions

A lone comet flies over the Mushroom Kingdom once every thousand years. This comet contains the Millenium Star, a sacred object that heralded the commencement of festivities. After the universe was renewed once, Mario still had the chance to watch the comet fly across the sky again. But during mid-flight it shattered. The Celestial Eon, which controlled the balance and flow of the omniverse went missing all across planets and solar systems. As invaders ruptured from the twisting of reality as Peach’s Castle started being ambushed, Mario knew something was wrong. Luckily, the Star Spirits who stopped Bowser once and helped run the Dream Depot noticed this and enlisted heroes and unwilling villains to combine together to stop the legion of foes who have secured pieces of the artifact, believing it would grant them wishes and power. The party commences like never before.

4 players every board work to gather stars and coins in order to play multiple boards in a game usually referred to as Mario Party. Using a Dice Block usually numbered 1-10, they move across spaces in set paths in order to reach first place. While the game of Mario Party itself is competitive, story-wise every player is working towards the same goal to restore balance to each world and board they come across. Each of the four players are able to carry up to 3 items that have special effects. Each item they carry can only be used once so choose wisely. Every 6 boards are its own plotline, which is connected to the larger, main plot.

Every player can nominate a character in-between board intermissions. Make sure the post where a character in nominated is written in the outline nested within the folder for it below.

Mario Party knowledge is required, but only the basic essentials. If you know how a game of Mario Party works (the Gamecube games and 8 are recommended but not required for game knowledge), you’re fine.

Almost all actions that happen during board play is controlled by the GM (currently leafsaber47). Unique content will be explained either at the explanation update before the board officially begins, and item rules will be recapped and/or explained as a sort of footnote to every update once a player gets them or arrives at the shop for the first time during a turn.

Spaces and how they look on the board map
  • Blue Space - Gives the player 3 coins. Appearance is exactly what it says on the tin.
  • Red Space - Takes away 3 coins from the player. Appearance is exactly what it says on the tin.
  • Event Space - If the player lands on this space exactly the number of spaces to move across as shown on their dice a event happens that automatically is written about in the update. A green space with a question mark.
  • Miracle Space - Initiates Chance Time. The two players and the resulting trade are determined by the GM. A green space with a stylized star on it.
  • Star Space - A space that can’t be landed on but will automatically give players a star if they have the right amount of coins to purchase it (usually 20). A unique appearance shared with the Orb Space but with a golden star instead of a red orb. If a person during the turn has bought the star for sale, the update will say where the Star Space moves to next immediately after the star is bought.
  • Evil Space - A space that initiates a random negative effect on the user based on who is the villain behind the current events in the story. A generic Bowser Space with black background with a red skull and crossbones symbol.
  • Lucky Space - If the player lands on this space, they will be transported to a separate area of the board filled with Blue Spaces and coins that lead the player usually to a free star. If they end up getting the free gift and they have moves left on the dice, they return to the board on the Lucky Space with all remaining moves forfeited. A yellow space with an eighth note in orange.
  • Battle Space - If the player lands on this space, a side scene where the Battle Mini-Game process is initiated prompting players to choose three minigames for them to decide on. Run by Bombette from Paper Mario, she will always choose the minigame which was picked the least when a tie occurs. Up for grabs are coins waged by all players. Lower pots than what Bombette expects will happen. Is a green space that features her likeness.
  • Duel Space - If the player lands on this space, they will decide on who to duel with, which their target is decided by the GM. A duel minigame commences, and the winner of the minigame will steal coins and/or a star from the loser. The winner’s loot will be determined by the GM. Represented by crossed swords in purple colors and background.
  • Orb Space - Can’t be landed on like the Star Space but will give a random orb to a player who passes it, which is revealed when they pass it.

    Common Events
  • Capsule Machines - Will give you a random orb item if a player who interacts with them has 2 or less items in their inventory. Appears a caricature of itself.
  • Shop - If their player happens to pass by the shop during their move and has at least 5 coins and is not under a transformation effect, they may purchase one item from the shop’s selection in the current turn. Only one appears per board. Appears as a common real-life shop symbol.

    How to Nominate
  • Character Name: - (link to image of character)
  • Series:
  • Personality (think of it as a backbone to a unique CPU in the Mario Party games. How do they behave during minigames and board play, what do they do with certain and all items, what minigames do they prefer and do well at, and what bonus star do they want the most?):

Kamek's Library - Turn 19

  • It’s the Boy of Sadness’s turn. He hits the Dice Block and rolls a 2. He cuts past Lucas and collects a Dinergate Orbnote  from the Orb Space right in front of him. He goes to the Blue Space right after it and stops there, getting himself 3 coins.

  • It’s Lucas’s turn. He takes out his Sluggish Shroom Orb and uses it. A modified Dice Block is conjured up right above Lucas’s head. He blasts it with PK Love just before the Dice Block reads 6. Like the Boy of Sadness before him, he collects an orb from the Orb Space that was just in front of him during the start of his turn, this time grabbing himself a Mushroom Orbnote  from instead of whatever the Boy of Sadness got.
    • With only two turns left on the board, Lucas is passing his way by Patchouli and Koakuma since trying to get an item from them would end up being all for nothing since he’s trying to use three items in two turns, which is just not possible due to Mario Party rules. He lands himself on the Lucky Space.
    • Lucas is greeted by the raven-haired witch with glasses and pointy ears, Thyme.
    • Thyme: You never expected someone like me to meet you at this precise minute, didn’t you? I am Thyme. Spice has found a safer area of this library safe from the gray-skinned crones we’ve also been doing research on.
    • A pastel pink portal appears behind Thyme.
    • Thyme: Come on, don’t be shy. Follow me.
    • As Thyme hops in, Lucas first takes a deep breath before taking the plunge.
    • Lucas finally arrived at the Lucky Space area, and standing in front of him and Thyme was Shizuka Masou, angrily tapping her foot.
    • Shizuka: Oh, finally there’s the one you’d promise to bring over here. I was doubting your talents.
    • Thyme: Well, he’s finally here. Let the kid walk his way over to Spice.
    • Shizuka: OK, I’ll keep an eye on the outside, to see if any little shits ransack this place.
    • Lucas nervously positions himself right before the first of several Blue Space in the Lucky Space area. Coins are openly laid upon each one — not touched at all; since Mahke Etstop was yanked away from the Lucky Space area due to Magolor’s shenanigans.

  • It’s Magolor’s turn. He immediately goes into his inventory and pulls out the Toady Orb, ready to pop it open. Out from the Orb is the Toady that was stored inside it. There’s a good feeling that he just wants to torment Mahke Etstop some more — as he wants the Toady to swap inventories with her. The Toady does so.
    • Toady: Toodles.
    • Magolor sees another Dice Block appear above his head and promptly summons a Deadly Needle to cleave it apart. Out from the Dice Block is a 5.
    • He passes by an Orb Space when his inventory is already full and gets a Cashzap Orbnote  from it. He ditches the Vampire Orb Mahke got last turn in order to keep the Cashzap Orb. After passing by the Evil Space right after said Orb Space, he stops on one of the warp book Event Spaces that is on the second floor of the board (Warp Book C). The grown to unusual size book opens up and sucks Magolor inside.
    • With the privilege to choose the direction the channels of warp books will take him, he goes down southeast towards the Event Space that is the bottommost located spaces in terms of latitude (Warp Book H), right before one of Lucas’s two Orb Spaces.

  • It’s Mahke Etstop’s turn. She hits her Dice Block and gets herself a 1. She groans before going towards the Red Space turned Evil Space before her and braces for impact.
    • The former two elements of the Fire, Ice, Lightning triad Mahke and the twin witches she’s going to get sent to together make up assault Mahke Etstop. A purple hand had snuck up behind her when she was trying to recuperate her senses. A half a minute later, she is now in the coven of the Gerudo Witches, forced to watch them attempt to hex her the same way they technically did to Lucas a good while earlier in the board.
    • Koume:    Oh, you poor unfortunate soul!
    • Kotake:    We hereby invite you to the Evil Space! It’s a delight having you here. Keheheh!
    • Kotake turns around to scroll through the pages of the supersized book for another spell, but then shortly gives up and casts the same kind of hex that Lucas witnessed with his eyes back then.
    • Koume:    Feh! Seems like we’re grasping for straws…
    • Kotake:    You’ll be sent back out of here soon, but you’ll definitely won’t be in the same place you were before!
    • The two witches cackle in diabolical elation as another dark purple hand sneaks up on Mahke Etstop and drags her back to the main area of the board. She is now where Magolor ended his turn. Lucas is now where Mahke Etstop was, and Magolor is now in the Boy of Sadness’s previous location. Said boy is basically sent a move backwards.

It’s time for yet another 1-vs-3 minigame matchup… Mahke Etstop with Magolor and Lucas together on a team of three? That definitely sends mixed feelings to her system…

Turn 19 Mini-Game - Archer-ival (video of minigame)

The Boy of Sadness is dropped into another fantasy world that wouldn’t be too farfetched in an isekai anime/manga/light novel, complete with none of the other three players being anywhere near his presence earlier. Luck is a fickle mistress as his point of arrival is in a bedroom, where a brown-skinned archer is sleeping on a stack of bundled straw. The blanket he was using fell to the cobblestone floor indirectly because of the impact of the Boy of Sadness’s landing. He was sleeping in only a white A-shirt and white tighty-whities — the latter complete with the stereotypical vertical fly.

The archer blushes beet red and yells at the Boy of Sadness.

Archer: What are you doing?! Leave my bedroom now!

The Boy of Sadness suddenly regains a lost sense of empathy from feeling the embarrassed Archer’s self-consciousness and immediately struggles to get up and hightail it.

Later, the Boy of Sadness is listlessly staring into the blue beyond, as if engrossed by the rural and idyllic landscape painted in his line of sight. That same Ambiguously Brown archer the Boy of Sadness met earlier, now fully dressed, walks up to him and apologizes for what went down earlier.

Archer: Sorry about that lil’ outburst I had earlier. Can’t let anyone in this guild know about that embarrassing secret of mine.

The Boy of Sadness looks to the side and sees a few more cottages, with one noticeably letting out strange smoke or steam from one of its open windows that hopefully won’t cause any adverse effects on this world’s atmosphere.

Archer: Ever since our adventures in the legendary Abyss, the kingdom’s citizens were gracious enough to lend all but one of us an estate greater in scope than our Base Camp, where us brave heroes rest. I’ve been hard at work sharpening my sharpshooter skills in case another calamitous event calls upon us star-crossed fellows ever again.

The Archer and the Boy of Sadness walk to just outside the village of the seven saviors of this fantasy world that the partiers have happened to land in. It suspiciously looks like something seen during that escapade in the Mushroom World regarding the amusement park called Mario Land. That useless line of fencing doesn’t help one bit. Regardless, the Boy of Sadness is instructed to stand behind it as the Archer tosses a longbow and quiver straight his way. The Boy of Sadness is given the instructions for the minigame and the archery needed to perform successfully in it.

The young-looking archer with the shimmering gray hair spots the targets past the brick wall are moving… and some depict no one he even recognizes…

Archer: Huh? How are these things moving at all? (Beat) Ah well, must be some kind of magic at hand. Good luck, young one!

The archer pats the boy in a suit who happens to be younger than him on the left shoulder before leaving. The minigame has de facto begun.

  • Mahke Etstop and her target she’s moving are distinguishably trying to make sure Magolor and his own target have little space to move as possible. Every time the purple target with a bee-like monster on it flies for a split moment in a direction opposite of what Mahke Etstop wants, she pushes back both said target and Magolor’s target.
  • The Boy of Sadness is noticeably trying to aim at the section of the targets’ area of control, having noticed the chicanery that Mahke Etstop and Magolor are causing. You’d think this’ll make Magolor the first of the three players to be eliminated from the minigame, but the targets are moving in a way where the arrow that the Boy of Sadness is firing hits the target belonging to the hands of Mahke instead even though he likely could have intended to fire upon Magolor’s target instead.
  • Lucas’s target is the next to fall to one of the Boy of Sadness’s arrows.
  • The purple target with a troll of some kind on it is hit by an arrow and falls down and away from the Boy of Sadness’s facing direction.
  • Several seconds later, the Boy of Sadness is correctly able to adjust his location, movement, and aim — to successfully nail Magolor’s target with the next arrow he fires. The Boy of Sadness has won the minigame.

The silvery-haired boy slightly older than the winner of the minigame applauds for the efforts the Boy of Sadness used up completely to get a pretty close win in the minigame and gives him some crystals (used as a form of currency in this world the players are in right now) as a money prize… it’s again 10 Mushroom Coins in total…

Exchange rates must be poor around these parts.

Kamek's Magic Library - Magolor Turn Aftermath (Mahke Etstop)

Upon realizing that her crap was jacked by Magolor, Mahke loudly yells, "Stop taking my things! IT'S! NOT! FUNNY!"

Kamek's Magic Library - Mahke Etstop Turn Aftermath (Mahke Etstop)

Just as her position got swapped by Twinrova, Mahke proceeds to cuss the witches out. Thankfully, you don't get to read Mahke's potty mouth at all. She's gonna be extra glad when the endgame comes. She's gonna enjoy fighting them as bosses. The moment when they fuse will be extra special for her.

OK, this 20th turn and the bonus stars/results/etc. posts took longer than I anticipated. Stay tuned for the latter!

Kamek's Library - Turn 20 (Final Turn)

  • It’s time for the final turn and the player shuffle event that Mahke Etstop inadvertently caused last turn has placed the Boy of Sadness in the Lucky Space area where Lucas once was. Spice, who was at the end of the Lucky Space Area corridor, was the only one to notice Lucas was replaced with someone else.
    • Lucas could have gotten the potential reward at the end of the Lucky Space area’s path much easier than the Boy of Sadness by being able to easily roll the number of moves required to reach there with the Mushroom Orb he had. The Boy of Sadness isn’t so lucky… To get there lickety-split he needs to roll a 9 or a 10 on his Dice Block…
    • He rolls a 1.
    • This causes him to sigh forlornly as he walks towards the Blue Space right in front of him, ending his last turn with 97 coins, though he could possibly get 10 more if he manages to win the minigame at the end of this turn.

  • It’s Lucas’s turn. He uses his Mushroom Orb anyways despite not being in the Lucky Space area anymore, where that same orb could have helped him. The two Dice Blocks he rolls are a 8 and a 7, resulting in a move sum of 15.
    • He ignores the flying treasure chest just three moves ahead of him, already having a bad feeling about his performance on this board due to how the previous turn caused him to get proverbially kicked out of the Lucky Space area.
    • The only Orb Space on the board is out of commission so Lucas will end up landing on the Event Space right near where Sophie Neuenmuller would be.
    • Suddenly, Lucas can hear her voice. She’s calling to him like a yodeler yodeling to a mountain.
    • Sophie: Sorry, I have to get ready for whatever is going to happen after this turn! I’m afraid I can’t assist you anymore with your adventure!
    • Lucas sighs, then turns back around facing away from the burgundy-haired young lady to wait for the next player in order to start their turn.

  • It’s Magolor’s turn. The petty Halcandran takes out his Cashzap Orb and uses it to target Mahke Etstop’s 10 coins. Magolor fires out several Magic Spheres given new lease on life by being electrically charged to thunderbolt-levels of power. They home in on Mahke Etstop and zaps away 5 of her coins. What Magolor just did could be accurately described as using a flamethrower to try to melt a rock.
    • With the Cashzap Orb’s effect being now dissipated, Magolor rolls a 10 with a Dice Block.
    • He flies straight towards Patchouli, stubbornly excepting something that could help him inch him closer to the first place standing Mahke Etstop is still holding on to. The Great Unmoving Library wasn’t amused.
    • Patchouli: You’re not supposed to be talking to me. It’s the last turn. Shoo.
    • Magolor huffs before walking… er, flying away from Patchouli’s closed shop, planning to see what could be in the nearby treasure chest with wings that he can get with his 10 move Dice Block roll. He manages to reach it, tosses 10 coins towards it, and watches it catch it all.
    • It then rumbles for a while before spitting out 5 coins for Magolor to pick up in return. He didn’t know what he expected.
    • Magolor then ends his turn on the same exact Blue Space he started his twentieth turn on just mere moments ago, with a coin count of 169. If this doesn’t guarantee him the Coin Star, no one knows what will…

  • It’s Mahke Etstop’s turn. She coughs just for a single time before shaking away all that soot Magolor’s earlier Cashzap Orb attack left her in.
    • She then hits her Dice Block like a normal person or player unlike most of those other Dice Block uses during this game. She rolls a 10, just like Magolor did. Taking the path to the only treasure chest left on the ground level of the library will make her end up landing on a Battle Space. And she’s tired of getting the short end of the stick for every Battle Mini-Game the players have played so far. She immediately heads straight west towards where Patchouli’s closed shop is, not forgetting to rudely punt Magolor out of the way beforehand.
    • Mahke Etstop lands on an Event Space. The giant green book right next to her opens up and drags her inside its pages. Mahke knew that this Event Space (Warp Book D) was right before on of Magolor’s blasted Orb Spaces. She just chooses a random direction blindly and ends up on the second floor of the board. Mahke was put on the Event Space sandwiched between two others there as the Warp Book at that other end spat her out onto it, five moves behind Lucas.

It's time for a 2-vs-2 minigame! Time for Mahke Etstop and Lucas to show Magolor and the Boy of Sadness the real superpower of teamwork!

Turn 20 Mini-Game - Revers-a-Bomb (video of minigame)

The players are walking through a faintly lit blueish tunnel towards the minigame location within an amusement park of sorts which barely feels OSHA legal. Suddenly, a part of the roof explodes apart as a pointy-eared girl in red hops in on an alchemically made sentient bomb called a Jumpy Dumpty. It’s Klee from Teyvat.

Klee: Klee can’t wait to play with boom-booms in park game! (Beat, as the staring players cause her to turn around to look at them) What? You think you’ve never heard of me?

The players walk the rest of the way to the entrance of the minigame location as Klee follows behind.

There are three Bob-ombs there telling the four players about the minigame, but they were about to address what happens after a side loses all ten health points as one notices Klee in the back, who immediately rushes up to the Bob-ombs to gaze intensely at their bomb-like bodies. One of the Bob-ombs raised one of his non-existent eyebrows.

Bob-omb A: OK, we know about how about you and the damage to the park’s property you caused. We’re not going to waste our valued employees’ self-sacrificing work on one game because of that.

Klee: (smirks) Eheh. I’ve already got a solution for that already.

Bob-omb A: You do?!

The Bob-omb to the left of the Bob-omb that is listening to Klee’s words takes notice, rolls his eyes, then lets the four players through the access gate.

Bob-omb B: Alright, the rest of you. Follow in.

The four players walk into the minigame area, take their positions, two of each on opposite ends of the playfield facing each other. Klee had already leapt her way into the minigame area with them and tossed out six Jumpy Dumpties into the middle of the platform for minigame play. Half of them start hopping like slinkies towards Mahke Etstop and Lucas’s team. The other half is doing the same but towards the team of Magolor and the Boy of Sadness. The minigame’s begun!

  • Magolor and the Boy of Sadness witnesses one of the Jumpy Dumpties going too far to their side of the playfield and exploding on its edge. The Boy of Sadness is stunned hard by the explosion and takes a while to get up. Klee pitched out a new Jumpy Dumpty in the middle of the playfield to replace the one that blew up on the edge closest to Magolor and the Boy of Sadness.
  • Another Jumpy Dumpty causes Magolor and the Boy of Sadness to fall to 8 health points. Lucas and Mahke Etstop are still completely unscatched. Luckily, Magolor didn’t get hit by an explosion like his partner did.
  • Over halfway through the time limit and Magolor and the Boy of Sadness are halfway to failure; yet they’ve only landed their first hit against their two opponents. This at least means Mahke Etstop and Lucas won’t be taking home a clean sweep in the minigame.
  • Ten seconds are left and Mahke Etstop and Lucas are still in the lead with 7 health points. Magolor and the Boy of Sadness are still falling behind with 4 health points.
  • Another health point down as another Jumpy Dumpty causes the Boy of Sadness to get temporarily knocked out again. Yet another Jumpy Dumpty causes Magolor and the Boy of Sadness’s team to drop to 2 health points when it exploded right in Magolor’s face — just as the Boy of Sadness already got himself back up.

Thirty seconds pass and the Jumpy Dumpty all explode straight away no matter where they were on the playfield; Klee doggedly complains about having run out of figurative fuel to throw out more Jumpy Dumpties. The minigame is over by timeout.

  • Magolor and the Boy of Sadness are barely clinging onto a single health point.
  • Lucas and Mahke Etstop still win no matter what, since they’re ahead of Magolor and the Boy of Sadness by 4 health points.

One of the Bob-ombs notices the slightly damaged playfield. He doesn’t seem too happy about the indirect damage Klee caused during the time the players played the minigame.

Bob-omb C: Welp, that more cash we’re going to have to fine this kiddo.

He walks over to the winners of the minigame to give them 10 coins each.

Bob-omb C: Here’s twenty coins as a cash prize. Be good noodles and divvy them up amongst yourselves, m’kay?

Kamek's Library - Bonus Stars, Results, and Epilogue

The twenty turns of the game are over, and it is time to wrap up the partiers’ adventure in Kamek’s Library. Klaudia took her sweet time with listing out the player’s coin and star counts. With that done, bonus stars are about ready to be distributed to their proper players.

Klaudia: It must be about that time to commemorate the experience of our players with Bonus Stars, right Star Spirit?

Misstar: Precisely — I sense the first of the three Bonus Stars is arriving here and it’s on its way!

A green star with a question mark depicted on it flies into the view of Misstar, Klaudia, and the players.

Misstar: This is the Happening Star! It will be bequeathed to the player who has managed to land on the most Event Spaces out of all four of you. It appears its selected recipient will be…

The Happening Star violently swerves all around the place before stopping right above Magolor’s head. It spits out a star at him and then gets the hell out of dodge.

Misstar: The Happening Star winner is Magolor, with 6 Event Spaces landed on! It seems like everyone else was two short of that value!

Next to arrive to the Bonus Star ceremony is a purple star with a shopping cart as its symbol.

Klaudia: Well, this might go to the person who has spent the most at Patchouli’s.

Misstar: Let’s see what the Shopping Star does—

The Shopping Star interrupts Misstar by splitting itself into two.

Klaudia: Uh, hey. That one bonus star’s become two.

Misstar: It appears we have a two-way tie! (watches the Shopping Star give stars to Magolor and Lucas) And the Shopping Star winners are Lucas and Magolor, with 20 coins spent each!

Mahke Etstop is audibly groaning because of Magolor’s current bonus star streak.

Klaudia: That just leaves one more…

The last of the bonus stars arrives on the scene. It’s a cyan star with a blocky letter M on it.

Misstar: It’s the Minigame Star, for the player who has won the most coins in minigames! Gee, there were a lot of 1-vs-3 minigames here, right? Let’s see who it picks as its chosen one.

The Minigame Star bounds its way to a very specific location: a few inches above the Boy of Sadness’s head. It gives him a star and makes its leave.

Misstar: hat a surprise; the Boy of Sadness wins the Minigame Star with 195 coins in total. To be frank, I’d have never expected that!

Klaudia: That should be all of them. Misstar, if you please…?

  • Lucas gets fourth place, as an ochre platform rises from below him.
  • The Boy of Sadness gets third place, as a bronze platform rises from below him.
  • Magolor gets second place, as a silver platform rises from below him.
  • Mahke Etstop gets first place, as a golden platform rises from below her. She is tossed a handheld magic mirror that seems to be inert but could be useful against the twin hags.

Klaudia: Congratulations on becoming a Superstar! Now, let’s save Ryza!

Patchouli walks to the winner and Klaudia; she has something to say.

Patchouli: The kombu-colored witch twins are encroaching our vicinity. I suggest a sortie.

Misstar: Affirmative. Let’s take them down!

The players, Klaudia, Patchouli, and Koakuma arrive at a nearby location in the supersized library and spots Koume and Kotake flying above their heads. They spot them and shoot some fire and ice at them. Mahke Etstop immediately takes out the mirror she was given just earlier and causes the elemental blast to be reflected back to them, hurting the Gerudo witches.

Koume:    Foiled by a single mirror! You are not going to take us down that easily, weakling!

This exchange occurs several more times until the witches grow weary and attempt to fuse together. Patchouli just fires a single fireball at Kotake and causes the fusion to end prematurely. Kotake collides with her sister as they fall to the ground, totally knackered.

Kotake:    You have bested us. Before we pass on, I must tell all of you… the boy we raised… his reincarnation… at a market… to ru—

The Gerudo witches pass on mid-sentence as their winged souls fly away, completely speechless.

Patchouli: (humphs) Looks like they underestimated you at first. Now where could she…

A giant book falls to the ground, shaking it and causing the purple-haired duo close to it to leap up in shock. Reisalin resurfaces out of the giant book’s pages.

Klaudia helps her up, overjoyed to see her friend again.

Klaudia: Ryza! I’m so glad you’re finally back!

Ryza: ...thank you. It definitely has been a while but I’m glad we could reunite after all this time you’ve been struggling along with the Star Spirit at your side…

Patchouli: I sense the library will soon return to its former size. I would kindly suggest we make our leave as soon as possible.

Misstar: The players tried their best! Klaudia, was there something you wanted us to do?

Klaudia: Ah yes, my father and his other relatives wanted to go to that big ol’ market happening in a place called…

Misstar: I assume... Hyrule?

Klaudia: Yes! That sounds like the one! ...though by the time you and your new cohorts arrive I will now no longer be under your service. It’s been an honor having you help rescue the alchemist that I know dearly.

Ryza: Alright, let’s get onto it! Let’s see what’s in store for us!

Misstar: Good. We’ll be heading there hopefully before the library shrinks back to normal!

Misstar has dismissed the partiers, who are complemented by her for making it through the strenuous game, and head towards the next board… hopefully to put the kibosh on what could possibly be a reincarnation of the Demon King of a Hyrulian past…

...this board took longer than expected. Don't let that small 47 space count fool you, that Star Space gimmick made the trek a little bit more lengthy than first estimated. We're tackling yet another custom board creation. The Twinrova's hints might have led to a certain clue on what's going to happen on this next board: Gerudo Trade Center.

Things are still the same after nearly three years: we're still stuck on TV Tropes I guess — and slots go by first come first served basis! If you've got first place, it would be polite to let other players nominate instead.

See you on 11/1/2024... or if you are from the Americas like moi, January 11, 2024!

Kamek's Magic Library Epilogue

Back in Mahke's homeworld, she's busy telling her story to a red-haired hot-blooded witch girl.

"So you defeated Twinrova with a magic mirror," asks the witch. "Man, you're so badass, Mahke!"

Mahke replies, "Y-yeah, Corva... You should have seen me in action! I finally won at something!"

"Cool. When will Misstar choose me next?"

"Who knows? But everyone has a shot at this!"

[up] Hmm... next time try to avoid posting roleplaying posts after the "Turn 20 (Final Turn)" and "Bonus Stars, Results, and Epilogue" posts, m'kay?

It might be clear to me we might need to delay our next board's debut date from January 11st to January 22nd. Yet a single nomination post has to be made, so get one of the four player slots available while they're still hot!

The Character's Name: Kasumi Toyama

Series of origin: BanG Dream!

Personality: A cheerful, enthuastic girl who likes stars because "they're sparkly". Which means, she'll always try to save enough coin to get a star whenever she could get one at a star space. She'll preferably only buy items that could help her get to the next Star Space. Might make some awkward decisions, though, seldomly.

Yes we know it's a typical competitive Mario Party player mindset to try to get stars at every single opportunity, but really I can't blame her for this.

Whoa. Almost went off schedule there. For me and everyone else in the Western Hemisphere at least.

Board 12 - Gerudo Trade Center - Turn 1

The sun rises in an all too familiar valley, and right in the middle of it is an oasis-like walled-off marketplace that was ready to do another day of business. A wormhole opens across from it. Out hops Misstar and four new partiers tagging along with her, ready to end whatever this random Demon King is doing right from the purported source.

Misstar: Whew! I’ve got a feeling this place is going to be a warm one! Make sure to cool down from time to time. We could be near a bustling center of commerce at any moment!

Suddenly a gray-haired woman flies out of the walled marketplace and seems to be glaring daggers at Misstar and the crew. Those wings… she is not a human in the slightest. It is Tear, a fairy, and a morally ambiguous financer.

Tear: You. Do you know why you’re here? You must be here to pay unto the same one I’ve a grudge against? Approaching this very location?

Misstar: Maybe. Why have you come here to pursue these particular monetary interactions?

Tear: (sighs) Miss Recette Lemongrass… you see, her home was few months ago destroyed by a Demon King. She had no other choice but to make a deal of her own to help her get out of the rut. As I was listening to her, the details of her anguished speech led me to perform a very deep analysis of the facts she’d given me… and turns out some of said King’s evil forces are… here. I have a hunch we’re here for the same one.

Misstar: You’re getting warm! Now, say — some of us here might not be familiar with this place, especially with that shopping mall by technically over there… are you able to tell us about it?

Tear: It’s with a slightly heavy heart that I have no choice but to fulfill your request. (clears her small fairy-sized throat) Now, all of you. Gather around and give me your undivided attention.

Tear explains multiple notable locations of interest on the board: there is a green-haired girl at the southernmost area of the marketplace itself, who may help a player steal an item from someone for a price. Tear has no idea how she got in.

Northeast across from that is a harvest goddess with a physical wolf-like form. She loves apples but is craving something a little more… of her tastes. That golden apple-selling stand to the north could look mighty peculiar.

Tear: One more thing — sandstorms could happen at any moment. Don’t want that and random encounter monsters ruining the revelry… (Beat) That’s all I’ll address. I need to check back on Recette at her little shop around here. I swear if she’s scamming random strangers for stuff again…

She stops for a mere moment to mutter “merde” under her breath.

Tear: I’ll be seeing you. If you really want to talk to Recette about something, do so at your own risk.

Tear flies away — Misstar takes the moment to turn back to the four players and resumes chatting to them again.

Misstar: Anyhoo… let’s hit some Dice Blocks first to determine turn order… they should be appearing in a few seconds…

Four Dice Blocks appear above the players’ heads.

Misstar: Good. Now’s your chance!

Corva Penryu rolls an 8. Snoopy rolls a 6. Ena Shinonome rolls a 5. Kasumi Toyama rolls a 7.

Misstar: Those are some tightly packed rolls! Here’s what we have: Corva is first, Kasumi is second, Snoopy is third, Ena is fourth.

Misstar gives the players the 10 coins they start the board with — concurrently with the appearance of the first Star Space on the board. If one were at the Star Space, once they make a sharp right turn then moves forwards four spaces afterward, they’d be right at Recette’s shop.

Misstar: Everybody’s set, time for us to begin!

  • It’s Corva Penryu’s turn. She launches a small volley of magic missiles at the Dice Block that is conjured mere inches above her head. It shatters apart and leaves behind an 8. Using up three-quarters of her moves, she stops for a short moment before a set of wooden gates open up before her, allowing her to enter the lusher market area put in the middle of an arid area of a version of the Golden Goddess’s created realm.
    • The first thing that enters Corva’s view after entering the market itself is a Capsule Machine, which she has little to no exposure towards and ignores it. The final two Dice Block moves are used up and Corva lands on a Blue Space. From where she ended her turn, she is just right behind an Orb Space.

  • It’s Kasumi Toyama’s turn. She hits the Dice Block and manages to roll a 9. Like Corva did before her, she leniently waits for the gates to the bustling medieval Akihabara to open. She enters, stops just a few steps later and interacts with the Capsule Machine. She wants the living gachapon to give her an Orb that could possibly help her on her way.
    • Capsule Machine: OK, I’ll give you an Orb. I wonder what you’ll get? Here it comes…
    • It opens its mouth, and a Numel Orbnote  rolls out of it.
    • Kasumi Toyama is confused by the Orb… but doesn’t want to waste anybody else’s time and continues onwards with her turn. She politely waits for Corva to move out of her way as she walks onto the Orb Space, picks up a Goomba Orbnote  on it, and walks towards the Blue Space right in front of it, and stops there to collect some coins.

  • It’s Snoopy’s turn. Hitting the Dice Block nets him a 5. He passes straight over the first Red Space the players will encounter on the board by default and stops on the Blue Space just a couple steps from the wooden gates holding the shielded commercial centerpiece of the valley inside.

  • It’s Ena Shinonome’s turn. Hitting the Dice Block nets her a 2, which causes her to groan in frustration. She lands on the Blue Space right after the Red Space that all the other players have already passed across during their turns.

It’s time for a 4-player minigame battle royale. What is in store this time?

Turn 1 Mini-Game - Catchy Tunes (video of minigame)

Now placed inside a hallway of a grandiose opera house, the players are looking at a door to a rehearsal room. They enter inside and see Schroeder inside struggling to get a fancy piano toy of sorts to work which sure left everyone surprised — but his present occupancy of the nearly empty rehearsal room had dumbfounded Charlie Brown’s dog the most. The blond-haired budding musician presses one of the white keys on the piano’s small and compact keyboard… and hears nary a note.

Schroeder: Pardon me, upperclassmen… (sees Snoopy with them) and Snoopy. This piano has caught my attention, but right now it’s not working! I know nobody who’s a gadget-working genius. Surely someone out of you four got a way of fixing it, right?

Corva nonchalantly sends a spell of weak stream of electricity aimed straight towards the piano, which sends it high into full gear.

Schroeder: Amazing — that was as enchanting as the Great Pumpkin! Now, allow me to demonstrate to you my musical chops as a token of my gratitude for the discovery of this great instrument.

He attempts to play something, but the first key he presses causes the four players to be shrunk by the piano and dragged towards the top of the magical instrument in some sort of telekinetic way. The four players are forcibly released from the grasp of the piano’s magical control, pushed away from one another as if they were droplets of water being sprayed out of a sprinkler.

Schroeder: That was weird. (Beat) Please wait here patiently. I shall be back in a minute.

The piano that shrunk the partiers has a metronome built into it, but there is a larger one in the background not a part of the piano that is summoning various musical symbols into the air, which are flying towards the piano’s surface like vultures divebombing onto prey. Snoopy, with his astute detective skills, leaps up into the air to grab a green treble clef. Snoopy is examining it in his hands — it seems as if something might happen if Snoopy were to collect a red eighth note, a blue beamed eighth note, a cyan sharp symbol, and a yellow bass clef along with it. While Snoopy’s doing this, the other three players have already caught onto the situation — and what the crafty beagle currently trying to do too… the minigame’s already begun as the players scatter around the instrument that they’re miniaturized onto, to grab more of these similar objects.

  • Kasumi manages to collect a red eighth note almost immediately. Two seconds later, Corva collected a blue beamed eighth note.
  • Nobody was paying much attention to Ena ironically enough… which let her collect a yellow bass clef symbol behind all their backs. Kasumi happens upon a cyan sharp symbol which she gets right after Ena had seized that bass clef.
  • Ena then gets an eighth note. Snoopy got the same kind of musical symbol, but beamed and blue.
  • Ena manages to get a cyan sharp symbol of her own after Kasumi has collected one several seconds ago. Then she gets a green treble clef too. All she needs is the blue beamed eighth note to win the minigame.
  • Corva and Snoopy get themselves a cyan sharp symbol and a yellow bass clef symbol. Now someone needs to grab a beamed eighth note before Ena does to force the minigame into a draw.
  • Corva does so, and none of the four players are able to collect any more musical notes or symbols after Corva stole Ena’s chance to get the blue beamed eighth note to win the minigame. The moment the metronome in the room that the players in stopped producing notes, they knew the minigame was over, and in a draw too.

Suddenly, a bowling ball out of nowhere rolls straight into the weakest of the four legs of the magical toy piano, causing it to collapse apart leaving the players in a numbed, dizzied state. Thanks to No Ontological Inertia, the players are back to normal size, but no one was able to get any coins at all in the minigame.

Schroeder returns to the rehearsal room the players were in and is startled by the players’ tuned out state, staring at the ceiling with eyes struggling to refocus.

Schroeder: Oh no! What happened? You’ve all been hurt badly, haven’t you? Wait here quick. I’m going to focus on finding you all first aid.

Sorry for the massive delay this time around. Tragic remotely Mario Party-related controversy broke out around the time I was almost ready to work on this second turn and I coped my way through 14 days with a lot of Splatoon 3.

Gerudo Trade Center - Turn 2

  • It’s Corva Penryu’s turn. Hitting the Dice Block nets her a 5. She picks up a Mr. Blizzard Orbnote  from the Orb Space just a couple steps ahead for her chooses to head straight eastward and stops on the Event Space after politely making her way around the more outgoing idol of the group. Walking towards the scarlet-haired witch is Holo, harvest deity for a far-off land.
    • Holo: My, fancy seeing you here. I am the white wolf of Pasloe, Holo. My darling Lawrence is here for this momentous excursion at this marketplace. Other vendors are cutthroat, just as I expected. Say, was there something to eat around here? I love my apples, but I’m pretty sure I want something that is more akin of my standard… Golden apples, perhaps? Let me know as soon as you find it; my dear is awfully busy.
    • She scutters away from Corva Penryu as if she is nearing all fours as the mage just pensively sighs.

  • It’s Kasumi Toyama’s turn. She hits the Dice Block and rolls a 3. Going the same direction across the board that Corva Penryu’s probably doing, she comes to a stop on the Blue Space right behind her.

  • It’s Snoopy’s turn. Hitting the Dice Block nets him a 5. He enters the central market area of the board just as the two girls ahead of him has already done, ignores the Capsule Machine that figuratively greets him in, collects a Flower Orbnote  from the Orb Space just a couple moves after that. Snoopy, with the last of his moves from the Dice Block, lands on the Battle Space just near the first interactable intersection of the general path of the board.
    • An explosion triggers Battle Space. Snoopy is barely hurt but is started to get annoyed. It was like the Red Baron landed explosive munitions on him. To his surprise, what he sees past the kicked-up sand is the Battle Mini-Game host Bombette, and her squadron of regular-grade Bob-ombs behind her.
    • Bombette: Looks like it's time for a Battle Mini-Game! The name's Bombette. Oh, by the way, if you want to know where the Bob-omb Cruiser is, it's parked up front.
    • One of the members of the Bob-omb Crew puts down a wooden crate onto the ground.
    • Bombette: I'm going to blow up this box that one of my folks placed here so I know what amount of coins all players are going to wager.
    • She uses Bomb on the crate. Insider the crate is a large stone tablet with the number 30 etched onto it, which shook the white-furred beagle.
    • Bombette: It's 30 coins per person. I'm requesting everyone on this board to give us your coins for the prize pool. Sorry, but it's how it works.
    • Snoopy grumbles as he gives his 13 coins to one of the Bob-omb Crew’s members, as other Bob-ombs are having the other three players on the board do the same. After that was all said and done, Bombette was about ready to request Misstar to take them to the area where the Battle Mini-Game will be held.
    • Bombette: Huh? 55 coins only? The partygoers must be short of funds. May the best win anyways. A Bob-omb referee will be coming with you guys to the mini-game location shortly.

Turn 2 Battle Mini-Game - Panic Garagenote  (video of minigame)

The players find themselves stuck in a giant box in a power plant of an unknown location. There is a Bellibolt wedging the way out of a tube into the room that the box containing the players are in. The players stare at the electrokinetic adipose-addled frog through the glass barricading them in the minigame area as it croaks out the instructions of the minigame. After a few minutes doing so, it then struggles to get back in the same piping it came into the room in to leave. The electrodes surrounding the rooms of each of the four players’ current containments power on as the minigame begins.

  • Suddenly, just as quickly as they started the minigame, the minigame quickly comes to an end as everyone except for Kasumi Toyama did not push the button on the ceiling of their tiny electrode-filled rooms which was the button that light up in yellow. Corva Penryu and Snoopy pushed the button on the right of them by mistake while Ena Shinanome was standing there insouciantly, doing nothing.
  • The electrodes in the tiny cube-like rooms that are in Corva Penryu, Snoopy, and Ena Shinonome rooms spring into action and deliver varying amounts of voltages onto them. The witch with the red hair didn’t seem too badly hurt, but Snoopy and Ena Shinonome was writhing in clearly apparent pain. Snoopy is whining, just around the same time that Kasumi Toyama gets ahold of the situation and reacts to her quickly earned minigame victory with expressions of relief.

Suddenly, an Iron Ball crashes through the glass paneling serving as a window to Kasumi Toyama’s current location of confinement, shattering it into pieces. She carefully makes her way around the shattered glass and slowly makes her way down to the power plant’s metallic floor. She does not take a second look at the 9-volt battery-shaped structure she and the other players were stuck in as she heads her way out of the power plant.

  • Everyone bar Kasumi Toyama was rescued and/or returned to proper health by the Bob-omb Crew. They’re back on the board as the Bob-omb Crew devised some tiebreaking in order to split up the prize pool properly. Kasumi Toyama gets 32 coins, Snoopy gets 14 coins, Ena Shinonome gets 8 coins, Corva Penryu gets 1 coin.
    • Everyone is returned fairly to their spaces; Bombette then congratulates the players for a great game, before heading off the board with the hovercraft and the Bob-omb Crew that makes their leave with her.

  • It’s Ena Shinonome’s turn. She hits her Dice Block and rolls yet another 2. There is a feeling of distraught Ena Shinonome is currently exerting at her gradually increasing misfortune. As if Mafuyu had enough shit to deal with.
    • Ena, with an unsatisfied pouting face, walks her way over to the Blue Space two moves in front of her and stops there, gaining 3 more coins.

It’s time for a 2-vs-2 minigame. It’s the two idol girls against Snoopy and Corva Penryu!

Turn 2 Mini-Game - Hop-O-Matic 4000 (video of minigame)

The players are placed inside a living room of what seems to be a usually usual Japanese residential building. There is a ruby-haired girl named Natsumi Hinata there playing on a Game Boy Advance, showing that this is indeed the Hinata household. The partiers’ presence alarms her and makes her get up.

Natsumi: OK, I don’t know where you all showed up, but I had a good feeling you could help the family with something important.

She tells them the Keroro Platoon freeloading in their house is planning something in anticipation of fending off another alien invasion to the version of Earth they’re currently stuck in for the duration of the minigame. It might be involving frog-like machinery… how fitting.

Natsumi: Just a warning, those machines can be really particular with how they control, or so I’ve heard.

Just before she could make an excuse to avoid further contact with the Keronian hooligans she’s been constantly up in arms with, a helicopter crashes straight into the house, sending pieces of drywall all over the place. Natsumi loses her balance and falls face-first onto a futon.

The doors on the helicopter that did a Kool-Aid Man through a wall slides open, and it is revealed to be Private Tamama opening the door. Two Green Shy Guys are at the cockpit of the helicopter behind him.

Tamama: The Platoon knew we’ve been searching for you three Pekoponian-ish folks this whole time… and that white-furred cur of a dog there, too! We’ve got to get our Hop-O-Matic F00s tested out in a race for the big day! Can’t let those chubby toads take some of Pekopon’s turf. Well, whaddya waiting for, then — hop in and we’ll take you there!

The players are just staring at Tamama and the Green Shy Guy pilots behind him. Snoopy blinks.

Tamama: Get in the choppa now or I’ll shoot ya!

The four partiers reluctantly climb into the helicopter as it zooms away. A half an hour later, the helicopter is closing in on a scenic little town in a still unbeknownst location. It is unclear whether or not the players are still above Japan.

Tamama flings open the door just minutes after the helicopter starts to descend back to ground.

Tamama: OK, folks. The place’s just below you lot. Let’s get you all down there!

Tamama rudely pushes the players out of the helicopter’s door and into the minigame’s racing location. Each of the four players land squarely in their respective team’s Hop-O-Matics. With the general gist of the vehicles’ controls understood at a proper minimum and a finish line they can barely see in sight; the players start pushing the vehicles to start moving, starting off the minigame.

  • It immediately starts off with Corva flubbing up the first required input of the minigame as Kasumi and Ena begin their performance with a quickly earned lead.
  • Kasumi and Ena get to experience what it’s like to be a sucker for frog-like mecha controls just like Corva and Snoopy did with them. This doesn’t last long as Kasumi’s team start to get back hopping again as Corva and Snoopy’s Hop-O-Matic struggles to operate properly.
  • Only after Kasumi and Ena get their second and third fuckups do Corva and Snoopy have a chance to catch up with them, which they absolutely took advantage of.
  • A few seconds later, the glitches happen again to both teams, although they manage to get a correct input into the machine occasionally. Eventually, Corva and Snoopy escape the constant glitching of their machine and hop their way to victory as Kasumi and Ena are unable to do anything but watch as their dexterity fails them.
  • Covra Penryu and Snoopy earned themselves a semi-swift new record of 0’33”83 upon crossing the finish line.

A Frog Pirate hops towards them, already out of their Hop-O-Matic F00, croaks in disgruntlement at being forced to work for the Keroro Platoon and sticks out its long tongue, where a bag filled with 20 coins is attached to it. Corva Penryu and Snoopy take the coins and distribute it amongst themselves equally… despite their wishes.

Corva Penryu - Turn 2 Aftermath

After setting a new record with that lovely rival of the Red Baron, the martial artist witch begins contemplating on where to buy those juicy golden apples from. The Item Store?

These must be good apples, then. What kind of effects would the Golden Apple orb have? Triple dice rolls like the Golden Mushroom? A divine being like Holo would have to have that at her beck and call.

How many times have I used that above joke already for MPO? I genuinely lost count.

Gerudo Trade Center - Turn 3

  • It’s Corva Penryu’s turn. She takes out her Mr. Blizzard Orb and lobs it at the Red Space northeast of her current location, which is just in front of another Orb Space. With an item used, a Dice Block appears into view at a very low elevation — very much usually not the kind of altitude they would appear in. It’s straight across from Corva’s shins. She unleashes a heel-drop kick onto the top surface of the Dice Block. It breaks apart like an egg, and what is inside it is a 10.
    • She goes right and then rockets straight up north, attempting to race Kasumi Toyama to the Star Space. After heading up all the way north and receiving a Kamek Orbnote  from the Orb Space just one move ahead of the Mr. Blizzard Orb Space she created just mere moments ago, she turns left immediately, heads towards the Orb Space in front of her at that immediate moment of her turn to collect a Tweester Orbnote  from it… then stops on the Blue Space right after it.

  • It's Kasumi Toyama’s turn. She hits her Dice Block and rolls a 2. Downtrodden, she walks towards the Blue Space placed right before the intersection that she watched Corva Penryu cross over just before during said witch’s turn.

  • It’s Snoopy’s turn. Hitting the Dice Block nets him a 9. He takes the same path towards the Star Space that Corva Penryu has already done, junction choices and all. After doing so, he has earned himself 3 coins and a Vampire Orbnote , albeit this is indirect obviously. He is just two spaces behind what could be the ones who are selling golden apples in the market area, like the ones Holo wanted the Magic Knight of a witch to get first.

  • It’s Ena Shinonome’s turn. She rolls the Dice Block and gets a 5. Finally, something less of an insult. Before using the latter three moves from her Dice Block she had to stop moving to allow the gates to let her inside the central area of the board. A Capsule Machine greets her presence and Ena decides to talk to the living gachapon because why the hell not.
    • Capsule Machine: OK, I’ll give you an Orb. I wonder what you’ll get? Here it comes…
    • A Flutter Orbnote  is spit out of its mouth.
    • Ena walks several more steps, immediately breaks her movement on her heels so that an Orb Space can give her an Urchin Orbnote , then slowly moves towards the Blue Space right after it and stops there.

It’s time for a 4-player minigame free-for-all. What possibly could be played this time around?

Turn 3 Mini-Game - Goomba Spotting (video of minigame)

The players are now located in the scenic and legendary city of Kivotos. As they stroll down the sidewalk, they seem a pretty irritated Yuuka Hayase leaning on a wall, who exhorts them to come over to her. The three humans, the ambiguously human witch, and the beagle on twos take roost in the alley just near them, sandwiched between two buildings to which the four partiers know little to nothing about.

Yuuka: So, do you know why I, Yuuka of Seminar, dragged you all back here? We’ve been hearing rumors of sentient shiitake mushrooms roaming the streets around arbitrary times of the day and I had no choice but to have someone a vital a variable as me keep tabs on them.

A generic brown-haired Millennium School student with Opaque Nerd Glasses hands each of the four players a tally counter. One’d be fooled into thinking the counters were old-fashioned mechanical ones but painted to look like they were white — a look at the holographic LCD-display lookin’ digits on it would dictate otherwise.

Yuuka: Now pay attention to what’s ahead and count any remainder of those mushroom-looking whatevers. If you count something else other than those, then it’s your fault. Don’t think I won’t admonish you if you told me you did!

The four players line up horizontally across from each other.

Yuuka: I sense they will be closing in on our approximate location. Enter on the counters the second they start passing by!

The first Goomba of the minigame walks by the players (and the 100kg twintail girl) as the minigame defacto begins.

  • After the first few Goombas have figuratively rolled in, various animated objects that are definitely not Goombas begin to be interspersed in the groups of Goomba walking by. One’d swear that at least one of the players could have already been tripped up by the changes and made miscounts.
  • The last two Goombas were carrying a Sukeban for whatever reason. After they pass by, the minigame is over. Yuuka told them she doesn’t see any more Goombas or otherwise making their way across and past the alley the players and her were looking at them from.

Yuuka: Alright, now please give me the counters you’ve been loaned.

  • Corva Penryu’s counter reads 30.
  • Kasumi Toyama’s counter reads 32.
  • Snoopy’s counter reads 39.
  • Ena Shinonome’s counter reads 35.

The Goombas, now aware of what the players and the treasurer of Seminar were doing, walks in a single-file line on the sidewalk past the viewing eyes of Yuuka and the four players as the former prepares to count every single one of them just to double check her analyses.

Yuuka: Hmm… 31… (looks back at the results the players have)

She frowns as it turns out the minigame’s has ended in a draw.

Yuuka: Well, sorry to break it to you all, but you’re all incorrect! I’d hate to say I’m sorely disappointed in all of you — because some of you were almost there. Just work harder next time, sheesh!

The downtrodden players look on as Yuuka Hayase leaves them behind in a slight huff.

Corva Penryu - Turn 3 Aftermath

Offended by that, Corva retorts, "Well excuse me... Not all of us are good at math!"

[insert tasteless Inglourious Basterds joke here]

Gerudo Trade Center - Turn 4

  • It’s Corva Penryu’s turn. She throws a fireball at the Dice Block that appears above her. Out comes a 1. The red-haired witch sighs as she walks towards the Duel Space and stops there. Watching the space below her glow purple in a beacon-like manner, she sees Misstar come face-to-face with her, politely asking her what player she would like to participate in a Duel Minigame with.
    • Corva choose Kasumi Toyama, and in a flash of light, the idol arrives there, who eventually regains her footing and stands up. Corva assumes a fighting stance. Kasumi rolls with it and assumes a tai chi-like pose, standing on her right foot. Suppose she might have some Hidden Depths?
    • Misstar: Well, you two seem like you’re ready — time to take you all to the Duel Mini-Game bout!

Turn 4 Duel Mini-Game - Time Bomb (video of minigame)

The two players awaken to find themselves in a super-charged version of Earth, right in the heart of Brazil’s capital, located in a military warehouse of some sorts.

The energetic explosives tinkerer Tayane Alves, aka Raze, is putting a screwdriver to one of two very distinctly designed explosive devices, plasticky explosives with time capabilities, rigged to plungers. The Brazilian notices the two and takes action to talk to them about what’s going on.

Raze: Yo, did you two just drop in here? Lemme tell you this: things began looking a smidge different around these parts of town and I reckon my next Radianite rodeo ‘bout to be hella unfamiliar. Found the resources to reverse-engineer these bad manos somewhere in Baiana a while ago. Thinking you could try these out for me?

The two duelist stand behind the plungers of the two time bombs.

Raze: ‘Kay, gringos. With these, it’s always about precision. Why not push them down after, hmm… ¿três segundos? The closer you can get to exactly that amount of time, the better.

Raze steps back, away from the time bombs, hopefully in the right place to not get blown up by her own supply.

Raze: Vamos, you two! Let’s watch some sparks fly already!

The time bomb triggers on their timers, starting the minigame.

  • For what could have taken longer than was really needed for the minigame, the plungers belonging to the bombs of both players seems to be pushed down at nearly the same time.

With that done, the hologram eight-segemented number displays turn on.

  • Corva Penryu’s bomb reads 3.97.
  • Kasumi Toyama’s bomb reads 3.99.

Poor Toyama-san is flung across the warehouse storage room from the bomb that just went off behind her. Corva Penryu just shields her face with her arms, being unusually resilient enough to take the brunt of the explosion.

Raze: Well, I’ll be damned. Just barely scraped by a super small margin of difference. You’ve earned it, champ. Tell that chefinha of yours I said hi!

Corva Penryu fist pumps the air in victory as she and the knocked-out loser are awaiting to return to the board.

  • Corva Penryu and Kasumi Toyama have returned to the board. With Kasumi Toyama brought back to shape, Misstar summons a rapidly rotating selection of images inside a magical sphere of sorts, and Corva Penryu is instructed to hit it.
    • Presented there is a sharply designed red X.
    • Misstar: I do sorely apologize but it seems like this is the first time it really wanted to do that. Kasumi’s not going to give you anything in return for winning the Duel Mini-Game. All that for nothing… Oh well!
    • Kasumi Toyama exhales out a sigh of relief as Corva Penryu is slightly distraught.

  • It’s Kasumi Toyama’s turn. She rolls a 4 from her Dice Block and heads down the same path Snoopy and Corva Penryu are still taking towards the Star Space, despite still being a bit disconsolate about what happened to her during that Duel Mini-Game she took part in earlier. She collects a Sluggish Shroom Orbnote  from the Orb Space that preceded the Blue Space she was about to stop on. Her inventory’s looking quite full, and she needs to use an item before she is forced to constantly pick up and trash anything she hasn’t used yet… perhaps that Lucky Space close by can assure her to use that Sluggish Shroom Orb she just got to roll an 8…

  • It's Snoopy’s turn. Hitting the Dice Block nets him an 8. He makes his way up to the northernmost area of the board, turns sharply left, grabs a Mr. Blizzard Orbnote  from the Orb Space in his current path, and heads across the bend towards where the Star Space is just ahead. He stops just in front of the Lucky Space of the board… on a Red Space. The white-furred beagle’s not too happy about that.

  • It's Ena Shinonome’s turn. Hitting the Dice Block nets her a 3. She decides she is not going down the same path the other three players have done before her and goes north upon reaching the closest junction to her. She stops on a Blue Space, right before one of those Orb Space smattered across the board.

It’s time for a 2-vs-2 minigame — can Corva Penryu prove she can tolerate dogs as much as cats? Let’s see if the two idols dictate otherwise!

Turn 4 Mini-Game - Herbicidal Maniac (video of minigame)

The players are now located on a distant greenhouse-like planet in outer space. There is a female Human Alien gardener tending to the exotic plants nearby. Complaining about the influx of Piranha Plants making their way to the planet, she instructs them on the instructions of the minigame then points the players towards four Egg Mobile-like vehicles with flight capabilities. Two have red highlights, and two more have blue ones. All four have energy blast cannons, which should prove mighty convenient in carnivorous plant killing.

The players hop onto their rides, each one pertaining to their respective team’s color designation and fly their way towards an oddly specific pipe system that consists of silvery pipes suspiciously similar in build to that of Mushroom World Warp Pipes.

Each team’s side has four Piranha Plants pop up in random locations in the minigame playfield as the minigame begins.

  • One by one, each of the four Piranha Planets Snoopy and Corva are dealing with fall down, giving them their first point, just as Ena Shinonome just got one of their four Pirantha Plants. The remaining three escaped.
  • Four more Piranha Plants surface on each team’s side, and it appears as if naval mine-shaped explosives have been lurking inside the pipes as well. Shooting one will alert more Piranha Plants to the playfield.
  • Snoopy and the witch he’s partnered with attempt to shoot at one of the Piranha Plants, but they’ve been targeting the same Plant, so the shots their hovercrafts fire collide and then do absolutely nothing as the fired energy blast begin to commence non-existence. It might not have caused them directly to not be able to get their set of Piranha Plants ousted in time because Kasumi Toyama and Ena Shinonome had gained their first point by vanquishing the last Piranha Plant in play at virtually the last second.
  • Snoopy, accidentally hitting one of those explosives, causes more Piranha Plants to crop up on their playfield meaning they have no chance to catch up with Ena and Kasumi, who had already secured themselves their second point of the minigame.
  • Another round of Piranha Plants to pin down — but this time it’s not Snoopy hitting explosives by mistake, it’s Ena Shinonome. Twice, in fact, leaving the idol duo no choice but to watch Corva Penryu and Snoopy gain their second point of the minigame. Is Ena intentionally trying to sabotage her team’s own progress or something?
  • The final round commences and Snoopy and Corva Penryu make the same mistake of triggering two explosives in quick succession like Ena did just a smidge earlier. While this could have given the opposing team the opportunity to get their third point and win the minigame, Ena and Kasumi unfortunately are unable to knock out the last Piranha Plant they have to deal with.

The Piranha Plants, along with the bombs left untouched on Ena and Kasumi’s side of the minigame descend back down the pipes in the pipe system.

The four players sulk in the matter of the second mini-game draw in a row before heading back to the female gardener they conversed with earlier to tell her the grave news…

I could do a Cirno joke right about now...

Gerudo Trade Center - Turn 5

  • It’s Corva Penryu’s turn. Bummed about possibly ending up passing by the Star Space for being 6 coins too short, she pulls out her Tweester Orb and watches the summoned Tweester Orb come out of its Orb shell. It then makes a slick-ass turn towards the Star Space in order to toss it somewhere else on the board, additionally sending Snoopy into temporary hysteria.
    • The Tweester changed the Star Space to outside the walls containing the market inside the sandy dunes of the Gerudo landscape, around the same area where the players had started their journeys a few turns ago.
    • With that dealt with, Corva Penryu hits her Dice Block and rolls a 5. She unknowingly walks past Snoopy without even noticing and lands on the Blue Space that was just before the Star Space she’d have to give up a chance of grabbing a star from if she hadn’t used that Tweester Orb earlier.

  • It’s Kasumi Toyama’s turn. She uses her Sluggish Shroom Orb and is eventually greeted with a cyan Dice Block slowly shifting through the 10 possible numbers Dice Blocks can usually roll. It just jumped to 7 just as Kasumi was about to hop up in the air to hit it. With an 8 rolled, she heads north on the junction laid just before her, as she then turns left to collect a Flutter Orbnote  from an Orb Space (okay, that might be a bit overkill considering how she’s gunning for the Lucky Space which almost always has a free Star waiting at the end of a Lucky Space area).
    • Suddenly, right next to the Lucky Space is a barrel, which is shaking a bit. Suddenly, it is dragged off of its position. There is a hole there, and a Shrinking Violet with scarlet-ish hair pops out of it. It is Sumi Sakurasawa.
    • Sumi: Umm… excuse me, miss. Do you have a moment? There’s a restaurant of some sorts hidden beneath this barrel. I’m surprised about how little the market knows about it. It’s a great place to escape the harsh conditions of this environment we’re stuck in.
    • Kasumi follows her inside — and they both arrive in the hidden restaurant. For some unexplained reason, coins are lying onto the Blue Spaces in the Lucky Space Area. The Blue Spaces are leading to a blonde-haired woman in a tank top, off-shoulder tan shirt, some boots, and a skirt, struggling to figure out what happened to the phone she is looking at in her hand. Her elbow’s right on the wooden table she’s sitting at.
    • Kasumi goes to stand behind the first of the Blue Spaces leading to the end of the Lucky Space Area path.

  • It’s Snoopy’s turn. He takes out his own Mr. Blizzard Orb and throws it like a snowball. It lands right on the Blue Space in front of the Duel Space that is closest to Recette’s shop.
    • He hits the Dice Block and rolls a 7. He brushes against Corva Penryu’s legs like a cat passing by her before turning right at the upcoming junction that he had no choice but to choose that certain direction anyways due to the nature of said junction.
    • He heads towards the location of Miss Lemongrass’s shop. The shop’s outside is what could be described as what would happen if an RV trailer was made in the medieval or Renaissance period. He heads inside to converse with Recette at the counter inside her covered wagon residence, as if he’s going to spend quarters at Lucy’s psychiatry booth.
    • Recette: Capitalism, ho! I had a feeling you’d pick the right merchant for the job! Now why not take a look at what I’m selling at this moment? Don’t bat an eye at the exorbitant prices; that’s just how I like to do business!
    • The shop’s items include: Flower Orb (15 Coins), Mushroom Orb (5 Coins), Vampire Orb (15 Coins)
    • Snoopy, with an irascible scowl, heads back out the same way he came in, eliciting a mixed response of surprise and confusion from Recette.
    • Recette: Hmph. Killjoy. (yells at Snoopy who’s outside from inside her shop) If you really want to come back another time, just do so, okay?
    • Snoopy walks to the Blue Space right after the shop location of the board and stops there, grabbing 3 coins.

  • It’s Ena Shinonome’s turn. She hits her Dice Block and rolls a 5. After doing an amused yet modest shrug, she goes to the Orb Space right in front of her and collects a Toady Orbnote  from it. After passing over a Blue Space and an Evil Space, she turns left towards the direction of Recette’s shop, which is not too far from the exits of the market area of the board. She lands on a Blue Space just a move and a few steps away from Recette’s store.

It's time for a 4-player battle royale. What will be played this time around?

Turn 5 Mini-Game - Will Flower (video of minigame)

The players are just standing outside a temple surrounded with flowers of various different species. Suddenly, a bob-cut girl in gardener garb staggers her way towards the partiers, carrying a clay pot with a Fire Flower planted in it. She trips on something invisible and the pot shatters to pieces as the Fire Flower lays there motionlessly on its side. A little plant-like homonculus pops up behind her and is worried if she just got injured or not. It is the Futsumaya assistant, Shiemi Moriyama, and her familiar was that little green thing just on her back. She gradually gets up and brushes off dirt from her long skirt.

Shiemi: Sorry about that! I’m Moriyama-san. Perhaps you’ve heard about me or my boyfriend? I’ve begun a part-time job near this temple honoring the mystical qualities of flora around the world. Recently, I just learnt various spells and managed to revive a dead tulip in one of the flowerpots sitting on a fence over there!

White Shy Guys carrying flowerpots with dead sunflowers are seen walking across the garden fields around the floral temple. Seems like they might have to do something with those.

Shiemi: I’m sure there must be a different way to plant back to good health, right? You don’t always have to be taught something by someone like me. I think the guys working here want all you to head inside. They’ve requested something important.

The players soon enter the temple and are greeted with an array of four fancy carpets on the mural-like floor. Each of the four players stand on the end of each carpet as the white Shy Guys come in with withered sunflowers inside pots and places each one directly facing the player across from them, on the other end of the long carpet each of them has their feet on. The minigame begins as the players start literally willing the flowers back to life.

  • Several seconds pass and the flower that Corva Penryu is working on returns to life and blooms once more.
  • With a fast new record of 0’08”48, Corva Penryu wins the minigame by a slightly wide margin.

One of the white Shy Guys walks over to Crova Penryu, congratulates her on the task, and gives her 10 coins.

Almost didn't get to upload this during the birthday of the girl the partiers met in Turn 3...

Gerudo Trade Center - Turn 6

  • It’s Corva Penryu’s turn. She hits her Dice Block and rolls a 7. The upcoming junction forces her to turn right towards the location of Recette’s shop. Seeing the outside appearance of the store, she shrugs to herself and heads inside.
    • Recette: Capitalism, ho! Another customer to sc— er, make good deals with! Now why not take a look at what I’m selling at this moment? Don’t bat an eye at the exorbitant prices; that’s just how business rolls when you visit the Lemongrasses.
    • The shop’s items include: Dueling Glove (10 Coins), Toady Orb (25 Coins), Super Mini Mushroom (10 Coins)
    • Corva Penryu changes her mind and exits out of Recette’s shop, causing the latter to react with incredulousness, urging the scarlet-haired witch to listen to her before she took her first step out of the door.
    • Recette: Just come back to at least buy something next time, missy! Nothing in life is free, y’know!
    • Snoopy is just waiting on the Blue Space past Recette’s shop, who just blankly stares at Corva Penryu, who is waiting for the doors back out to the arid desert to open. Snoopy had no other choice but to stand there, watching the witch walk her way out of the marketplace area of the board.
    • Corva lands on the Event Space standing in the way between her and the Star Space. She waits for a while before realizing nothing happened when waiting on the Event Space. She yawns in boredom, trying to tarry tolerantly as long as she can take for the next player’s turn to start.

  • It’s Kasumi Toyama’s turn. Hitting the Dice Block nets her a 6. She walks across the curvy bend of Blue Spaces in the Lucky Space area, but due to her dice roll, stops about three-quarters of the way in. She now has 59 coins, owing to both the Blue Space she landed on, and the picked-up coins strewn across the restaurant’s floors like pieces of gum sticking onto the underside of a table.

  • It’s Snoopy’s turn. Hitting the Dice Block nets him a 7. About to head back outside to the harsh, dry desert the sturdy stone wall is keeping the marketplace from, he waits for the doors in his way to said desert open before him, and as soon as there is an opening, dashes his way outside.
    • He bumps into Corva Penryu in order to reach the Star Space, who just leers at her with a slightly peeved expression.
    • Misstar appears in a flash — in a particularly literal manner — to ask Snoopy if he would like to purchase a star for 20 coins. Snoopy chooses to get the star like basically every other partier does.
    • Misstar: You’ve asked nicely, so here’s your first star of the game!
    • With the first star that anyone has collected on this board, the Star Space moves onto another location on the board… all the way on the other side of the desert. Now someone would have to get back into the marketplace area of the board and exit out towards the eastern half of the board… or just use a Flutter Orb or a Magic Lamp.
    • After collecting his first star, Snoopy gets a Chain Chomp Orbnote  from the Orb Space that was just in front of him. He ends up landing on the Blue Space right past the area in which the partiers started their game on.

  • It’s Ena Shinonome’s turn. She pulls out her Urchin Orb and tosses it at the Orb Space Snoopy created on the previous turn just two spaces behind her. After that, she hits her Dice Block and rolls a 6. After using up one of the six moves from her dice, Ena Shinonome decides to enter Recette’s shop to see if there might be something that she’d want.
    • Recette: Capitalism, ho! Now why not take a look at what I’m selling at this moment? I hope you actually buy something unlike the other folks that passed by here earlier! On that note, I’ve heard you’re struggling quite a bit here from that star missy o’ yours. Don’t tell anyone else this, but I’ll give you a discount. Don’t tell me I didn’t make a good deal, ‘kay?
    • The shop’s items include: Dueling Glove (5 Coins), Toady Orb (15 Coins), Super Mini Mushroom (5 Coins)
    • Ena Shinonome buys the Dueling Glovenote  for a discounted price of 5 coins.
    • Recette: Thank you for your purchase! Just keep note that I’m a “no refunds” girl!
    • Ena Shinonome heads out of Recette’s shop, and passes by the lone Blue Space in-between the gates back out into the open and the aforementioned shop of the Lemongrass lass. The wooden gate slowly creaks open — and Ena Shinonome seizes the opportunity to pass through. The gates shut behind her back as she cuts by Corva Penryu. Like Snoopy did on his turn, she collects something from the Orb Space — a Klepto Orbnote  she just nonchalantly tosses out of her inventory. She stops on the Blue Space right after said Orb Space and collects 3 coins.

It's time for another 4-player free-for-all tussle. What’s going to be the minigame?

Turn 6 Mini-Game - Shy Guy Says (video of minigame)

The players awaken to find themselves stuck in barrels floating in the wide, blue yonder. Ropes are attached to a wooden boat belonging to a crew of Shy Guy wannabe pirates. The captain of said crew hops onto the bow of the boat. The expected pirate speech is subverted.

Shy Guy: Welp. Hello mateys. I guess I have to force you all to entertain me. I’ve got two flags of different colors with me. You try to copy my movements and flag choices. But if you fail… sorry, but you walk the plank. Before we begin, I’ve gotta warn you… pirates aren’t exactly the type to… er, be fair players.

  • The minigame begins as the Shy Guy holds up the red flag. Everyone except Snoopy gets this one, while Snoopy does not react at all to Shy Guy’s actions.
  • Shy Guy: Very funny. Wanted time to be lazing around on the job, huh? Bye.
  • The Shy Guy pulls out a cutlass and severs the sinews of the trope keeping Snoopy’s barrel attached to the pirate ship. Snoopy has ended up marooned at sea.
  • The Shy Guy switches to raising the white flag he has. Everyone got this one. The Shy Guy returns to raising the red flag again, this time twice in a row. Unlike the two idol players, Corva Penryu does not realize that Shy Guy had switched to raising the red flag, as she holds up her white flag by mistake.
  • Shy Guy: Aha. Didn’t think I’d not catch that. (cuts the rope attached to Corva’s barrel) Off you go now.
  • The Shy Guy holds up the white flag. Then he holds up the red flag. Both Ena and Kasumi are still not eliminated.
  • This time around, the Shy Guy appears to be raising the red flag again but bluffs his choice and his other arm holds up the white flag he has. This time around, Ena and Kasumi are not aware of the Shy Guy’s tricks and raise red flags.
  • Shy Guy: Hey… you two blind or something? I see both of you chose the wrong flag... guess that’s a draw for you.

He pulls out his cutlass and swings it like a Minecraft sword doing a sweep attack, cutting the ropes attached to Kasumi Toyama and Ena Shinonome’s barrels, sending them off into the blue horizon.

Shy Guy: Have a safe voyage. Probably. Haha…

Corva Penryu - Turn 6 Aftermath

That Chain Chomp orb is dangerous stuff. Star Steal can make or break a game. It's best to wait until Snoopy gets desperate enough to steal cash and waste the Orb. That mutt might be smarter than Corva, though.

One draw minigame later...

As she drifts off into the sea, Corva whines, "Another draw game! How are we so unlucky?!"

more draws than a gartic phone game

Gerudo Trade Center - Turn 7

  • It’s Corva Penryu’s turn. She unleashes a flurry of cryokinetic bursts at the Dice Block that appears above her head and is cracked away to pieces like it was succumbing from frostbite. Inside it was a 1.
    • Corva, dissatisfied with the low roll, scoffs before heading towards the Blue Space right next to her and stopping there.

  • It’s Kasumi Toyama’s turn. She hits her Dice Block and rolls a 3. She collects the remaining coins left on the two Blue Space between her and the blonde-haired young woman forlornly tapping on her phone. Kasumi is waiting next to her table courteously to see if she can get a response from her.
    • The woman turns around and sees the brown-haired idol next to her. She is Saya Endou.
    • Saya: Well. Greetings. Sorry about that — struggling to keep my composure trying to figure out what’s up with my new phone. I knew I should’ve eaten somewhere else instead of here. Anyways, I have something that I don’t know how it got in there, so I’ll let you have it.
    • Saya had a star this whole time — and Kasumi happily takes it, shooting her from third place up to first. A few minutes later, Kasumi Toyama has left the secret restaurant, and is back on the surface of the marketplace. She’s standing in first with 1 star and 65 coins to her name.

  • It’s Snoopy’s turn. He chooses to use his Chain Chomp Orb as a Chain Chomp is summoned from it. Seems like Corva was mistaken… maybe he’s not as smart as one might think… or he’s probably just a really impulsive dog. How one reflects on his decision to immediately use his Chain Chomp orb when he doesn’t have 50 coins yet to steal a star regardless, he asks the Chain Chomp to steal some coins from Kasumi Toyama, who has got a target metaphorically pinned to her back with her 65 coin count.
    • Chain Chomp: Arf arf! <You want me to steal something for you? No problem!>
    • In a Single Bound, it leaps onto Kasumi Toyama on her current location of the board’s only Lucky Space., crashing down onto her, sending nearby visitors to the board into a panic. She has lost 13 coins to the Chain Chomp, which eventually does a Superman-tier leap back to Snoopy, with the stolen coins in tow.
    • Chain Chomp: Woof woof! <What a steal! Here is 13 coins for you!>
    • Snoopy doesn’t mind getting another dog (as much as a Chain Chomp can really be considered a dog) to do his dirty work and waves it goodbye as it leaves. Such a petty pup.
    • Snoopy hits his Dice Block and rolls a 10. After using up five of his moves, he has to stop for a bit to let the wooden gates to the marketplace section of the board open up so he can get through. The Capsule Machine that welcomes his presence inside is ignored as Snoopy is going to pick up an Orb at the Orb Space two spaces away from it — and it’s a Goomba Orbnote .
    • The beagle’s final move requires him to choose a direction to move in on the junction that is the first junction that everyone had to move through near the beginning of the game several turns ago. He chooses to go straight forward and stops on a Red Space. Well, at least he’s gunning for the Red Star if nothing else…

  • It’s time for Ena Shinonome’s turn. She takes out her Dueling Glove and puts it on. A bright burst of light envelops her hand, motioning Misstar to come over for assistance.
    • Misstar: You’ve got the Dueling Glove! What’s going to be your opponent?
    • Ena chooses to duel Kasumi Toyama, probably because she’s still quite bitter from the Shy Guy Says minigame that happened during the last turn.
    • Kasumi Toyama drops from the sky, slowly picks herself back up in a punchy disposition, and wonders to herself why every other player is picking on her this turn. It might be she’s getting a bit sick of it.
    • Ena Shinonome tells Kasumi Toyama to Bring It, as Kasumi Toyama assumes a pose as she’s going to run a track-and-field marathon.
    • Misstar: Now that’s the spirit. Let’s get you to our minigame destination as soon as we can!

Turn 7 Duel Mini-Game - Blown Away (video of minigame)

The two players find themselves standing on a very cushy cloud somewhere in the air. By some odd chance, a little piece of paper with the minigame instructions on it, which Ena Shinonome rushes towards and picks up, trying to read it. Kasumi Toyama, ever the curious sort, tries to look at the instructions on the parchment, constantly in Ena’s face, who is trying her damnedest to move the piece of paper away from her ebullient eyes.

Suddenly, a harsh gale of wind blows away the piece of paper that Ena was holding. A Lakitu flies past them, dropping two rocket launcher-like gadgets that each player catches in their hands. They are individually trying to figure out what they do, but Kasumi pulled her weapon’s trigger by mistake, causing a bursting ball of air to blow them near towards the edge of the cloud they’re on.

They’re now quite a way apart from each other. The two idols aim the barrel of their air bazookas at each other, ready to begin the Duel Mini-Game.

  • Kasumi starts the minigame by shooting an uncharged shot, pushing back Ena who tried to approach her opponent head-on. Kasumi starts charging up her bazooka, ready to nail her hard with a charge shot. The blast is fired, but grazes past Ena’s shoulder who retaliates with an uncharged burst of air.
  • Kasumi retaliates with more air bazooka shots. It looks like Ena is about to be throw off the cloud, but Ena pulls a fast one on Kasumi and fires an air bazooka blast at her.
  • This doesn’t work out for Ena as she is soon hammered by two more blasts of air in quick succession like a jab-lock in a Smash Tournament, sending her off the cloud.

Kasumi is the winner as she turns her back towards the fourth wall, holds the air bazooka she’s holding upright, with the barrel pointing towards the stratosphere, and gives a thumbs up with her left hand.

  • The two players, finished with their duel, return to the board — with Ena safe and sound. Misstar summons a rapidly rotating selection of images inside a magical sphere of sorts, and Kasumi Toyama, who has finally won a Duel Mini-Game on her own, is instructed to hit it.
    • Kasumi does and sees that she will get 5 coins from Ena Shinonome. Not much but it’s honest work.
    • Ena is made even more grumpy from having to cede 5 of her coins to the person she intended to sic the Duel Mini-Game on.
    • With the spoils given, the two players are returned to their prior locations on the board. Ena Shinonome has no other option but to hit her Dice Block and see what it gives her. She rolls a 10. At least it’s compensation for her Duel Mini-Game loss in a way. She turns around the bend of spaces around the starting section of the board, heads towards the gates like Snoopy did, and waits impatiently for the wooden gates to open and rushes in.
    • Ignoring the Capsule Machine due to having to pass by the Orb Space just a few moves ahead, Ena Shinonome then grabs herself 3 coins and a Chain Chomp Orbnote  before ending her turn.

It’s time for a 2-vs-2 minigame. Can Ena Shinonome trust Corva Penryu enough to overcome Kasumi Toyama and Snoopy?

Turn 7 Mini-Game - Picking Panic (video of minigame)

The two teams find themselves standing on floating platforms facing a familiar face: Woody. He is being flanked by four trees, two at front, two in back. Two of the trees have bore fruit and are about to fall off their branches.

Woody: Greetings, again! I am very much indebted to your Star Spirit and her prior company’s effort on your tasks in Woody Woods. Mind helping me with a small errand, please?

Woody explains the minigame’s instructions as someone off-camera tosses a basket to each of the two players.

Woody: I’ll bestow some coins to whoever collects the most fruits in their team’s basket. Are you ready? Good luck, players!

For each team, the platforms let one member let off, who begins hanging onto rope attached to the fruit-bearing tree. The other team member for each team, leaves the basket put on the platform and lets themselves get tied to their feet to rope attached to the non-fruit bearing trees across from the fruit-bearing trees to the right of Woody.

The fruits start dropping off as the minigame begins.

  • The first fruit that dropped was a 3-pointer and nobody was able to handle it carefully towards their team baskets. It took until a second fruit drops (a 2-pointer) for anyone to start gaining points.
  • Roughly halfway through the minigame, Corva and Ena were leading with 3 points, with the other team just a single point behind.
  • Eventually, a 3-pointer fruit finally falls into one of the team’s baskets… it belongs to Kasumi Toyama and Snoopy, who have taken the lead from Ena Shinonome and Corva Penryu.
  • The last of the fruit eventually falls off the tree they came from… and Woody analyzes how much fruit the teams got as the players leap off their ropes and onto the platform, right in front of their baskets with fruit.
  • Corva Penryu and Ena Shinonome have 8 points. Kasumi Toyama and Snoopy… have the same number of points.
  • With a slightly faint frown, Woody declares the minigame to be a draw.

Woody: Oh, that’s such a disappointment… You folks seem to be evenly matched in terms of acrobatics; to the point that the minigame’s in a tie! I wish I could give two of you some coins, but I’m afraid I cannot.

The players bemoan yet another minigame draw as they wait for Misstar to return them back to the board…
