Maybe robot's new body will go berserk or something. Maybe try to recover it's arm from that room where the cherry tree was. The classes with Parlay and Smith should be interesting...Maybe they'll see that ghost girl with the sword that attacked Annie. Reynardine is a wildcard, really. And yeah, the scissors are ominous.
Reaction Image Repository[308] is up.
Annie's looking forward to Kat's return. Except for her and Shadow2, the halls seem completely empty. And Annie is barefoot and without makeup.
Annie seems to be having no trouble with running now. Has Annie been running to improve her stamina since ch 12? Or is she just skipping?
The comparison between Gunnerkrigg and Good Hope is interesting, unfortunately we don't know enough about Good Hope to really draw any conclusions. Though I can't help but wonder if Good Hope had a creepy forest at its back doorstep.
Is it just me or has Annie got taller? And why isn't she wearing shoes? At least shadow 2 can talk now. If Good Hope did have a creepy forrest behind it, well that's just bad planning. Next to a schoo, sure, but a hospital? What I want to know is if Annie has been learning how to make better use of her medium abilities. Maybe we'll see what was up with that sword-ghost.
Reaction Image RepositoryThat. Is. A. Huge. Room. We've already seen that the Court is massive, but this is... You can't even see the walls.
Or maybe the walls are just painted matte black.
Knowing how big Gunnerkrigg is, I wouldn't be surprised if it was just really big. Although having rooms-within-a-room seems a bit excessive. Seriously, it's no wonder we never see any other students around, each class probably has their own borough or something. Who the heck finances this place? It must cost a ton.
Reaction Image RepositoryIt's probably bigger on the inside or something.
SHIKI is dead.Considering that they already have artificial environments and HardLight simulations, that's not too much of a stretch.
So Rey's back in his plushy form. And that's quite a view Annie's got from her room.

Interesting. Explains why going over that gorge is such a big deal. The forest would be overgrown by buildings. Almost like entropy in reverse.

I'm calling Chekhov's Gun on that mask. If nothing else, it ties in with the emphasis on eyes.
I'm liking Annie's new hair more (assuming this is another change in hairstyle and not just, say, wet hair from a morning shower). Scratch that, her hair looks enough different; I think her hair was wet on the last few pages and now it's drying.
Interesting indeed. Yeah, that mask is going to come up later. Most likely so will that jar of paper stars. I wonder how long it will be before Reynardine jumps in the conversation. I want to know what he, Annie, and Shadow 2 were up to all summer.
(nice sig quote, btw)
Reaction Image RepositorySummer holiday was six weeks long. Poor Annie was making those stars the entire time.
As for Reynardine, we know that girl talk bores him, and the last time he interrupted one of Kat and Annie's conversations with a rude comment, he ended up unable to talk for a full week. So if he doesn't have something positive to add, it's in his best interests to keep his mouth shut.
On the other hand, I suspect (based on nothing) that Rey knows something about Anthony. And he could decide to share that, either to be nice or to trick Annie into trusting him. So it could go either way!
(Thanks. I take it you're a Jars fan?)

Oh, that Reynardine!
Don't you normally need fingers to do that?
Reaction Image RepositoryPlenty of obscene gestures don't require fingers, for example whatever this is.

Although when I first read it, I thought he was flipping her off, Strong Bad style.
Wow someone besides me and Meta4 posted here! Yeah, I noticed the actual gesture shortly after I posted. And yeah, the Strong Bad style bird crossed my mind too.

Although do you know any other good arc-based webcomics? Gunnerkrigg is the only one I can think of ([ww=One Over Zero]that's still going...).
''Are we both from a different world?''Agh! Lost page of discussion here...
Well, seems that critter thing is fire. Kid played with it, burned the house down. And died. Or something.
Do you highlight everything looking for secret messages?Awesome news: Gunnerkrigg Court is getting published. The first 14 chapters in a ~300-page hardcover volume, for about US$25. No word yet whether it will be available outside the US.
Today's page: Somehow, Dhoo's words aren't very reassuring.

Wow. I'll need to look into that...
Do you highlight everything looking for secret messages?[359] Interesting, even someone on a first-name basis with Death doesn't know very much about the afterlife.
Whatever the similarities between Martin's and Sword Girl's situations, Sword Girl must have been a more severe case (otherwise the Guides would have just brought a medium and the situation would have resolved itself).
Alas, Sword Girl's unlikely to be revisited this chapter... 27 pages already.
Do you highlight everything looking for secret messages?
Who else here is a fan? I know I'm not the only one 'round these parts.
Spoilers ahoy, I guess.
So, the Summer Holiday (and the hiatus) is over, so the next chapter should bring the start of our heroines' second year at Gunnerkrigg. Tomorrow (or tonight, depending on your time zone) we get the chapter 15 title page! (This update schedule is killing me. I hope Tom builds up enough of a buffer that he can start updating every weekday.) Will Kat start working on Robot's new body? Will Annie begin her classes with Parley and Smith? Will Anthony's absence be a source of awkwardness and tension? Will Reynardine continue being nicer, or will he revert to being a Smug Snake?
So many questions, so few answers!
EDIT: And the Ch 15 title page is up at Drunk Duck. (The main site will be updated in a few hours.)
Kinda forboding. Makes me think that blood will be spilled this chapter. Hmm, there were lots of parallels between ch 7 and 14, so maybe this chapter is going to parallel ch 8. There was blood in that chapter.
And the bismuth symbol shows up again. I guess that means those scissors are school property.
