This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.

Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

It’s been quite a while since I’ve been here as I’ve been busy with other things so I haven’t been able to deal with it until now, a while back I was suspended for edit reasons and would like to appeal but again since it’s been quite a while could someone remind me what it was, thanks guys.

So I know why I was suspended. It was due to trying to remove information from offsite drama and false information from the Escape From Vault Disney TV Tropes. The creator of the show had in fact called out a user out directly on Twitter for posting it and false information. I should have just reported the page and leave to let a mod take care of it as I got into an editing war with the another user. I now know that outside information is not allowed or I would have kept information removed, I do know now. I am not going to make excuses for what happened, it was wrong of me to do it. I have been here 2010 and created pages. It was wrong as this never happened before to me. I would just wish my account would be restored so I don’t loose all the work I put into my pages over the years.

Hey, I was trying to edit my Troper page, and it said that I was suspended for some reason.

Okay then, I apologise for the crude comment that I made on my last edit, on Useful Notes/Ireland, where I had restored a joke that was on top of the page, that wasn't the bad bit, but I had made a crude edit reason where I said "rack off snowflakes" as a joke.
Although I understand that some people didn't like the joke, I had no ill intent with the joke, as while I have an horrific sense of humor, I do not actually want to cause any form of harm, hence that I usually apologise in advance for when I am about to make one.
There have been some interesting things that I had seen on the Half-Life 2: FakeFactory=} Remastered, specifically, the Ravenholm level, and I would like to add some examples for the NightmareFuel page for ''VideoGame/HalfLife2'', since the mines at the end of the Ravenholm chapter look like a WombLevel, with all the reddish stuff covering the mine walls, It'll be really cool, since that the [=NF page allows some references to the mods as well.
I will try and be more civil next time, and I will keep my jokes to myself.
I would like to have my editing powers restored, so that I can undo some of my mistakes, please.

Not entirely sure why I cannot edit the Escape From Vault Disney YMMV thread. I understand that another troper kept claiming that the someone off the site felt it was harassment, but nothing I posted was intended to generate harassment on this site or any site. I am a fan of the show and was simply adding something in Harsher In Hindsight that I felt was appropriate, and even included the official statement and position of the show members regarding the situation for both context and accuracy. I have received no word from the individuals cited by the other troper that this information is private and out of line. I understand that if this information is causing drama from other tropers that I should delete it, and I'm willing to do so. Please consider my appeal. Thank you.

You've been suspended due to problems with indentation and formatting examples. Looking at the records, I can see that you've been notified about this issue on six different occasions.
Normally, we would refer you to the Example Indentation in Trope Lists policy page for this sort of issue. But we already went through the rules the last time you were suspended for this. This is your third suspension overall (although the third one was for a completely unrelated issue) and if we reinstate you again, you are very unlikely to get another chance.
If you couldn't understand (or couldn't follow) the rules last time, how can we be confident that this time things will be better? Can you say anything to reassure us that another run through the indent policy won't be wasted effort?
We're willing to consider reinstating you, but we want to ensure that we're not going to be back here in a few months time.

You've now accumulated 13 forum thumps, 6 of them in OTC. Most recently, there were 2 for posts in the OTC War in Ukraine thread.
One of those was for 'forever war' doomsaying, the other was for bringing the situation in Israel and Gaza into the Ukraine conversation - not only is that off-topic, but Israel/Gaza is currently a banned subject in OTC (as it's an understandably emotive topic and conversations about those events don't tend to go anywhere good).
OTC conversations can get heated (especially when war and terrorism are involved) and we're relatively strict in moderating them - we've had to lock entire OTC threads in the past and we don't want to do that again.
It may be worth taking a look at the OTC guidelines and introduction, as well as the general forum rules.
This is your first suspension. If you're confident that you understand the rules and won't accumulate more thumps, we are comfortable reinstating you — but if this keeps happening then you may face an indefinite ban from OTC or, possibly, a wider forum ban.
If we reinstate you, are you comfortable that this won't happen again? Do you have any questions?

Apologies for bringing up the Israel-Palestine stuff. I was responding to the news of foreign aid package, which did mention Israel, I will not mention the conflict until the thread gets reinstated.
As for doomposting, I didn't consider it to be doomposting at he time because I care less about anyone "winning" than just the end of hostilities, and iirc I was responding to a post about how US aid would drag out the war.

So I have read though the page of "Edit War" as you asked me to do. So the understand that I have is that if I have an issue and/or a disagreement with another user, the first thing to do is to open a discussion in the area if there are multiple people editing it or to PM the user over the issue. Doing it the way that happened to me is not helping matters as it go on a never ending war and I'd end up back here again or have even worst issues to deal with. It's not a matter of what is right and what is wrong at that point.
That being said, if there is a major issue with vandalizing or if the user isn't responding I should use the report button to get a moderator involved and not get myself involved in it.
Hopefully you will understand that I did read though the rules and that I will not get into an editing war again. I'm sorry that it happened.

Starting with the CamelCase formatting first and I’ll get back to you guys on the edit war part later.
In regards to CamelCase for formatting that’s where you uppercase the first letter of each word and smoosh them together to get the blue links for tropes such as this; Flower Motifs, as well as this Deuteragonist with the brackets and putting them like this, graceful ladies love the color purple.
I’ve been working on this since I’ve been suspended, how does it look, I think I’ve got the format down now.

Thank you for directing me to the proper page. I understand that if one person deletes a part of the page, someone else restores it, the first person deletes, and this cycle repeats with the same two users, this constitutes an edit war and will be grounds for suspending said users. I will keep this in mind and try to communicate better with Konacha or anyone else that disagrees with my edits in the future. A few years ago I was having persistent trouble with an edit I was making. The issue was with bullet points: for some reason, whenever I submitted the change, the linebreaks were removed, causing a mess of text on the same line. This happened several times, and so the suspension came.
I procrastinated from making this post to address the issue. However, I would like to edit again. I understand that persistent bad edits are annoying for the mods and the users, so I will resolve to do the following:
- Use sandbox, preview, etc amply before committing changes
- In the case of a formatting issue or anything else brought to my attention, take my time addressing it rather than rush a change
- Read recommended guides carefully before proceeding with edits
