The devs posted their third Dev Talk, which is focused on their process of adapting Marvel characters to work in Rivals' gameplay style. It even teases how Hela will play and explains what inspired her in-game abilities.

Wonder what game they could be referencing.

Spoilers here since it reveals bios, closer looks at the designs, skins, and abilities.

And below you can find most of abilities (like 4 heroes missing)

It's actually 5, they are Magneto, Scarlet Witch, Peni Parker, Star-Lord, and Namor.

I like how it tells you which comic book inspired the comic-themed skins.

I also like how a lot of the lore uses recent stuff.

Like the X-Men characters referencing Krakoa and Storm's bio using her X-Men Red stories as the Regent of Sol on Mars and dealing with Arakko.

Which dang, Krakoa, Arakko, and Mars would make great maps.

This all looks like it'll nicely fill the void caused by the slow suffering death of Overwatch. The artstyle and presentation looks great. Can't wait to see more about the gameplay.

Ooh... Knull namedrop in Groot's lore! I wonder if that means he'll be a boss and/or playable?

With the Guardians trapped on Klyntar I definitely expect it to be a map.

Lotta nice set-up to potential new stages in the character bios.

Wonder what other villains we'll be getting after Loki and Hela. Knull would be a pretty cool inclusion.

Supposedly, 20 new heroes were datamined: Adam Warlock, Black Widow, Blade, Captain America, Cloak & Dagger, Jeff the Landshark, Hawkeye, Human Torch, Invisible Woman, Iron Fist (Lin Lie), Moon Knight, Mr. Fantastic, Psylocke, Squirrel Girl, The Thing, Thor, Ultron, Venom, Winter Soldier, and Wolverine

Wow some good picks there, love the possibility of Cloak & Dagger being playable and I’m curious how Jeff is going to appear in this.

About the only bad pick I don’t like is using the Lin Lie Ironfist. Cause Lin is the bad Ironfist so kind of a dumb move to use him instead of Danny Rand.

He's there for the similar reason Luna Snow is...He was created by Marvel in collaboration with Net Ease to attract more Asian readers.

Imo, the biggest lacking names are now Cyclops, Deadpool and Dr Doom.

Lin Lie is still the current Iron Fist.

Sadly he still is despite his whole push landing with a wet thud and no one really caring about him. I think everyone is just waiting for when Danny finally regains his powers again.

Danny being replaced is pretty much entirely due to bad-faith complaints from people who only know him from the awful Netflix show and think it's racist to have a white character be a martial artist-themed hero... even though Danny has ancestry from K'un L'un and properly earned the Iron Fist mantle through his own merits. It's like the people defending the Iron Man 3 twist because they heard the Mandarin was a racist caricature in the Silver Age and assume he was never updated until the Shang-Chi movie.

A new Dev Talk is out, detailing how the devs go about creating destructible environments in the game.

To be fair, he was that back in the silver age.

But yeah, Danny being replaced seems to be a result of the backlash the Iron Fist show got and how people were hoping for an Asian actor to play Danny.

Whatever happened to Pei anyway? Danny was training her to be his successor.

I usually zero in on Tank characters so Magneto looks like my man. Maybe Peni.
