Apparently Chicken Little got heavily executive meddled with.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire....a movie that's almost two decades old, so not really reflective of anything.

Ironic how the trailer was posted on a Monday.
Also something something Star Lord and Nick Fury, I'm sure someone's gonna make an entry about that.
I loved the first part of the trailer and the rest seems... fine. I will probably check it out.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadI feel like Chris Pratt's Garfield is better than his Mario. Also, I'm glad they remembered that Garfield has a little bit of heart to it.
It's been 3000 years…So Nicholas Hoult is Jon in this, which I just find really funny that one of the big current "handsome boi" actors is playing Jon Arbuckle of all people.
The Alone Among the Couples scene also has me wondering whether this film will include Liz, and if so which version; or if they're going to go back to the classic "lonely loser" Jon for at least most of it.

Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonMemetic Mutation and Meme Acknowledgement. It's only a matter of time before Chris Pratt becomes an Ink-Suit Actor.
Obscure Reference: "It can sometimes knock out opponents with the shock created by breaching and crashing its big body onto the water. The trailer is alright. The thing is that Garfield is fundamentally a cynical character who has a complicated relationship with Jon, but avoids going too sadistic by having the occasional sentimental moments and "partners in crime" plot. So starting off with him as a kitten and a Tastes Like Friendship first meeting with Jon feels off, even if it is for a Big Eater joke. I'm also not sure about Garfield's dad in the plot, partially because he's three time bigger making him look more like a cheetah than a stray cat.
That said the animation style does seem to have some spunk to it, blending the more Cheated Angle style of the comic strip with high energy visual humor. Chris Pratt's voice may take some getting used to, most of what we hear is him narrating to the audience instead of real conversations. At this point Pratt is a fairly experienced voice actor in his own right and playing lazy goofballs is part of the niche he's carved out for himself.
Do you not know that in the service one must always choose the lesser of two weevils! As for Pratt's performance, it just sounds too high pitched or energetic to me. Or maybe just because Lorenzo Music voiced him for so long, it became easy to think of Garfield as having a specific sound. Music's voice was a little deeper and much more sardonic (even in instances where he needed to show more emotiona). Bill Murray and Frank Welker, and whoever voiced him in the litter box commercials and video games kinda followed that sound, with mixed results.
I suppose I could just look at this as them trying something different with the character. I just don't think it works.
As for the Chris Pratt/Samuel L. Jackson connection, it's really far from the first time Jackson made a film with somebody he already co-starred with in some film franchise. He co-starred in Jumper with Hayden Christiansen after the Star Wars prequels.
With all the memes about women choosing a bear over a man, Hollywood might wanna get on an 'East of the Sun and West of the Moon' adaptation…HARVEY GUILLÉN IS PLAYING ODIE HE CONFIRMED IT ON TWITTER!

The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire. The second comment (in the order that it appeared for me) summed up my thoughts exactly.
“If I had a nickel for every time Harvey Guillén voiced a canine companion to an orange cat, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice, right?”
SoundCloudI'm glad they're paying a celebrity to make dog noises, he's truly getting into character.
Am I the only one who LOVED the trailer!? Baby Garfield looks RIDICULOUSLY cute. And the trailer hit all the right points for me. Even Chris Pratt cant ruin the movie since I will be watching it dubbed anyway. I feel this might be a surprise hit.

Though I prefer it when Garfield talks without moving his mouth.
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue. What was the other?
EDIT: Ah, it was Perrito from Puss-in-Boots.

Count me in as another fan of the trailer. Will definetly be seeing this since I've been a huge Garfield fan since I was about 5 years old, I even like the live action movies and The Garfield Show.
Oh and I think Chris Pratt does a great Garfield, it's pretty true to Lorenzo Music's Garfield.
I genuinely think Pratt fits Garfield better than Mario, which his Mario isn't even that bad btw.
Art Museum Curator and frequent helper of the Web Original deprecation projectOne thing that gave me pause about the movie was that Garfield's first meal with Jon... WAS PIZZA!? I was afraid what I read on TV Tropes was true and he liked Pizza's better now. That's like NO.

The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.I'm of the belief that for a good voice for Garfield, you don't need to imitate Lorenzo, you just need to get the spirit of the character down. And Pratt, while not perfect, does a pretty good job at capturing that.

Art Museum Curator and frequent helper of the Web Original deprecation projectYes, I'm also surprised it was not lasagna. Like, lasagna is Garfield's main thing.

Luckily Lasagna did show up. It just took a while.

Keep in mind that Mark Dindal also has Chicken Little on his resume.
I'm not saying he's the reason that movie sucked, I'm just saying, Mark Dindal doesn't mean good film.
