Oh wow, the last cartoon on today's Toon In with Me is "Hare and Loathing in Las Vegas", a Bugs Bunny/Yosemite Sam cartoon that only ever released in Australia due to Looney Tunes: Back in Action bombing!
Eek the Cat's Bill Kopp and Phineas & Ferb's Dan Povenmire co-wrote it!

??? ...
...Released Date: 2004?
Is this the most recent cartoon that shown up on "Toon In With Me?"
Yep, I'm still here. The skits between the cartoons are fairly Trope-rich. For example: in one episode, Bill the Cartoon Curator meets his childhood imaginary friend Mr. Smarty-Pants... who apparently is actually a real person that Toony and Mr. Quizzer can see. There's Recycled Premise, because American Dad! did something similar in their show. Mr. Quizzer is proud to be considered Toony's good friend; it's funny when you realize they're played by the same guy. Fridge Horror kicks in when you realize a grown man often hung around Bill as a child, gaining his trust and consistently misinforming him about things. It's very layered.
For those of you who don't know, there's going to be a special Christmas version of the show on Monday at 8pm, and one of the shorts featured will be a new restoration of the Fleischers' "Somewhere in Dreamland." It has apparently never looked better. Here's the list of cartoons - unfortunately we're not getting "Peace on Earth."
Also, last Tuesday they aired a classic Columbia short - 1949's "Cat-tastrophy." (The Christmas special will feature another one, "Gifts from the Air.")
If they're taking from Sony's library now, will we see UPA shorts pop up? Will Mr. Magoo and the Fox and the Crow make their debut?

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."TIL that Fleischer Studios had a studio in Miami.
Anyway! Next Monday, the show will be featuring tributes to Superman and include Bugs Bunny, Popeye, and the Pink Panther parodies of the Man of Steel...and will also feature the Superman Fleischer cartoon "The Arctic Giant"!
Yeah, the Fleischer's moving to Miami is why Jack Kirby quit the studio and went to work in comics books. His mother didn't want him to move so far away from the family.
...Jack Kirby was in animation at one point?!

He worked for Flesicher from approximately 1935 until 1937, working as an in-betweener (mostly on Popeye cartoons). He's cited both their impending move to Florida and his dislike of their working environment, which he called a "sweatshop for pictures" as his reasons for leaving.
HEADS UP FOLKS!
A FIVE HOUR MARATHON OF BUGS BUNNY CARTOONS IS COMING YOUR WAY! Check Local Listings! Only on Me TV.

But that's fine, because apparently Woody Woodpecker is coming to MeTV soon!

This is a little off-topic but it relates to TIWM because they share a character...
Has there been any news about if there's going to be a third season of Sventoonie?
I haven't heard anything. Although I'm surprised that it was more Toonie describing a movie rather than actually showing one or maybe it could have been like MST3K and Toonie and Trevor (the undead video store guy) could've cracked jokes about the movie.
But anyway! The Saturday Morning Cartoons schedule is having a shake-up on September 2nd in light of Woody Woodpecker!
- 7:00 am - Popeye & Pals
- 7:30 am - The Tom & Jerry Show
- 8:00 am - Woody Woodpecker & Friends (Beginning September 2)
- 9:00 am - Bugs Bunny & Friends
The Walter Lantz cartoons haven't been on American TV in years so this is a good thing. And the first broadcast will feature one of my favorite Lantz cartoons, Tex Avery's "Sh-h-h-h"...
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Semi related, but I gotta say it's disappointing they're not using the month long Svengoolie double feature to expand Sventoonie into a proper movie showcase.
Well, this is a surprise, it appears that MeTV is planning to show two Peanuts movies this month: A Boy Named Charlie Brown on the 19th, and then Snoopy, Come Home on the 26th, both at 6pm.
"Hey, gimme a minute to get to know everyone, 'kay, Brainy?" "Of course, but please allow me to get a word in, too, bzz."And for some reason, the commercial made it look like Snoopy, Come Home is a nice and uplifting Thanksgiving movie. :S
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.Me TV's Toon In With Me is celebrating Women in Animation which is so awesome and so sad at the same time. It took a niche channel block for this to happen.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.It seems the success of this block has spawned an upcoming, brand new spin-off channel: MeTV Toons.
It'll be coming in mid-June, and it's a continual collaboration between owner Weigel Broadcasting and Warner Bros. Discovery (according to some sites and trades like The Desk and Variety). However, they're not the only media company cited as other content include: Paramount Pictures, MGM Studios, Terrytoons, Sony’s Columbia Pictures, Comcast’s Universal Studios and Jay Ward Productions.
The new channel is also expanding its availability. Not only will it be another free over-the-air network, but it'll also launch as a free streaming channel on other free ad-supported television services (like Pluto TV).
Beyond Warner Bros. titles, Me TV Toons will also feature animated content from other studios and distributors, with properties including Rocky and Bullwinkle, Woody Woodpecker, Casper, Betty Boop and Speed Racer.
As part of the channel launch, animation historian Jerry Beck (whose books include “The 50 Greatest Cartoons,” “The Hanna-Barbera Treasury” and “Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies: A Complete Illustrated Guide to Warner Bros. Cartoons”) will help produce original content related to the Me TV Toons library. Also, character actor Bob Bergen — who has voiced Porky Pig, Marvin the Martian and more, will serve as the signature voice announcer for Me TV Toons.
This reminds me of what Cartoon Network used to function as, as a rerun house for old cartoons of the Golden Age and the 1950s-80s cartoons.
Wonder if this upcoming channel will eventually decide to make original animated shows later on like Cartoon Network did?
I also am curious if it'll be successful in the age of streaming that is causing TV ratings to fall.
CABLE ratings. Sure Broadacst Networks are also affected but this is a broadcast network. If its for free people are going to be more willing to watch, especially if they are cord cutters.

Jerry Beck, who's involved with the network, says it's not going to be that. He says: "Think 1992 Cartoon Network – TIMES 100. On steroids."
Of course, when I hear that, I wonder - will it have the same sense of humor Cartoon Network had back in the day? Will they have smart-ass promos poking fun at the shows? Who knows. He also says that there will be no plans for the channel to produce new shows (which was always the plan with CN; after all, Hanna-Barbera was still producing new shows at the time).
As for the 90s and 2000s shows - you gotta remember now, those shows are as old as the shows Cartoon Network was showing when it began. Still, more Freakazoid is good, no matter what.
The diverse lineup makes me wonder what else they have in store. Toon In With Me has been showing Columbia Color Rhapsodies - will we get some Mr. Magoo or Fox and Crow shorts, too? (They could show Totally Tooned In, maybe.)
Some of the odder shows announced on the site include Marine Boy (another anime), the Police Academy cartoon and the Abbott and Costello cartoon, which I don't think CN ever aired. They've also got Kwicky Koala and the Mr. T cartoon.
I'm keeping a lookout to see if it'll be available in my area. Lot of people I know would definitely watch.

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."I saw that article and now I'm wondering how deep this will go.
Like, what's next, SWAT Kats and Garfield and Friends? Heathcliff is in the roster on the website. That might be enough to warrant a block on cats. (And saying it out loud, having SWAT Kats and Garfield and Friends would kick sooo much butt…)
Freakazoid was the one that made me do a double take because it didn't hit me right away that he's considered an oldie. But yeah, Freakazoid always gets a pass in my book...and now I feel old again, because it hits me that I'm a year away from hitting 30. Ohhh, how the time flies.
I never even heard of Marine Boy and I must've forgotten that Police Academy had a cartoon.
What else could we see? CN-era Space Ghost Coast to Coast? Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ('87 and/or '03)?
The sky really feels like the limit now…
The only limit so far is NO NEW CARTOONS. Only reruns. Which is great, this is a nostalgia network.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.
Me Tv can get away with it because, as a network, they're aiming for the adult nostalgia market.
Plausible deniability, you know.
