Per Animation News Network's explanation on the matter, for those out of the loop:

Beginning January 2, the Me TV Network has announced a new weekday morning show, Toon in With Me. The original one-hour hosted series will feature comedy sketches, special guests, interviews, games and more, produced to lead into many of the greatest classic cartoon shorts ever made, including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Tweety, Road Runner and the many other fan favorites from the Merrie Melodies and Looney Tunes shorts libraries. MGM theatrical cartoon library shorts including Tom & Jerry, Droopy Dog and the Tex Avery catalog will also be part of the show, as well as the original Popeye cartoons from Max Fleischer. More than 1,000 cartoons will be included in the Me TV library.

Chicago-born actor, writer, comic, and personality Bill Leff will host the show. A pop-culture and classic TV fanatic, Leff studied improvisation at Chicago’s Second City Theater, performed stand-up comedy nationwide in clubs and on TV; he hosted several successful radio shows, has appeared in films including Major League and Major League 2, and has interviewed some of the biggest names in Hollywood film and television.

Kevin Fleming and Leila Gorstein also join the cast. Fleming is a writer, actor, and improviser whose comedy writing credits include the Warner Bros. Animation series The New Looney Tunes airing on Boomerang. Other animated writing credits include The Tom and Jerry Show, Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!, LEGO City Adventures, and Woody Woodpecker. Gorstein is an actor, writer, and comedian who has performed as part of The Second City Touring Company. She recently co-wrote and starred in the romantic parody film Love Dump and has hosted the streaming game show Role Models.

Also, beginning Saturday, January 2, Me TV debuts Saturday Morning Cartoons, a three-hour “all cartoons, all the time” block reminiscent of the Saturday morning broadcasts of the past. Each hour will present a collection of cartoons featuring Popeye and Friends, Tom & Jerry, Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies.

Also, for those keeping track of Looney Tunes' presence on broadcast/over the air television, this is technically the franchise's return in the air since September 2, 2000 on ABC.

Curious but can Me TV be streamed online or on Roku?

With all the memes about women choosing a bear over a man, Hollywood might wanna get on an 'East of the Sun and West of the Moon' adaptation

While there isn't a Roku specific app, you can legally stream OTA channels via Locast for free with ads, which has a dedicated Roku app and works in a browser. MeTV's website only offers free on demand program with no form of live streaming.

Though I stress that if anyone already has an antenna set-up, or a TV built in to catch signals, they're better off using that method.

If this is successful, hopeful chance they go beyond the catalog of other brand cartoons?

Harveytoons? Walter Lantz? Hanna-Barbera? Jay Ward? Japanese Anime?

[up] We kinda already have Hanna-Barbera toons by way of the Tom & Jerry/Droopy toons from H-B and The Flintstones is part of MeTV's regular schedule, but...maybe?

Japanese anime is probably a definite no, unless it's stuff like Voltron and Speed Racer.

[up] Sure. I mean, we all love old-school cartoons, right?

Also, I know Silly Symphonies are definitely off-limits.

Causal reminder that on weekdays, Toon In with Me is only an hour long, starting at 7 am EST.

Saturdays are the only days the block is expanded into 3 hours, from 7 am EST to 10 am EST.

Me TV is pretty clearly owned by Time Warner, and that's where all their cartoons are coming from. The Time Warner library includes the WB cartoons, the MGM cartoons, HB, and the Fleischer/Famous Studios Popeye (I think they own most of the Fleischer catalog); their essentially showing stuff that aired on CN back when CN showed classic cartoons. Anything not owned by WB isn't likely to show up (Woody Woodpecker is owned by Universal, Silly Symphonies is Disney, Paramount currently owns the Terrytoons, etc).

I'd be very surprised to see any anime, mostly because Me Tv is programmed to be nostalgia viewing for the 50+ crowd, and also because WB plain doesn't own much. If they did show any, it probably would be the older stuff like Astro Boy or Speed Racer.

[up] MeTV isn't owned by WarnerMedia, but by Weigel Broadcasting which doesn't have a higher parent company. I checked days prior to see if there was a known parent company, but I couldn't find anything to support that.

Weigel Broadcasting has more history dealing with ViacomCBS (Decades) and FOX Corp (Movies) in channel creation than anything with WarnerMedia.

[up] I stand corrected then. Still, all the cartoons they've broadcast so far have been from the Time Warner library. I suppose, if they aren't owned by Time Warner, there's nothing to stop them from licensing other cartoon catalogs ('cept Disney, I expect. The only non-Disney outlet that I've seen showing Disney cartoons is TCM).

Huh, they're airing Box-Office Bunny. Thought that was one of those lost cartoons.

The second weekend of "Saturday Morning Cartoons" is currently airing right now.

[up][up] It was only made in the 90's. Why'd you think it was lost?

Maybe you're thinking of Blooper Bunny (from 1991), which was withheld from release until 1997.

Though not directly related to their "Toon In with Me" block, MeTV recently acquired the syndication rights to The Jetsons. The series will be appropriately paired with The Flintstones on Sundays, starting on February 21st at 11:30 AM EST.

[up] Wonder if this only includes the 63-64 eps, or also puts the 1985 and 1987 episodes into the mix.

How about the Ant and the Aardvark?

It's interesting to note some of the cartoons they've been showing recently. This Saturday they'll show "Bushy Hare," a short Cartoon Network never aired, and the week after that they'll show one of the 2004 Larry Doyle Looney Tunes which never got an official release.

(It's interesting, also, that they aired shorts like "Rebel Rabbit" and "Tweety and the Beanstalk" uncut.)
