Its more like giving robots preferences would be weird
New theme music also a boxActually, I was more surprised that the announcer just called them robots and not Cylons. Of course, this episode first aired in early 1999, even then Star Wars was more popular than Battlestar Galactica.
One thing I don't like about Simpsons especially in the late 90'S is being beholden to the status quo. Yes status quo is god, but the early seasons enjoyed stories that don't amount to "we do thing, but the climax resets the status quo".
Their obsession with the status quo is honestly why they've lasted so long I think
New theme music also a boxIt certainly makes Marge happy.
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.Honestly, I wish they’d time skip a few years so Maggie could be an actual character
I know they won’t though.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersThey already write Bart and Lisa more like teens, kindergartener Maggie could be really fun. But I know outside of a non canon 'future' episode, they won't and even then she gets more jokes than personality. (Like the Lisa's Opus one where Maggie just holds up a sign that says "you speak for me" when Lisa goes to college.)

see my completed Tangled (Varian) fanfic collection! https://archiveofourown.org/works/24467056/chapters/59049532I mean I'm fine with it, the whole audience already knows. They wouldn't question why they had multiple christmases yet the characters never age or go up in school year. I just wish their storytelling doesn't involve leaning on the status quo.
What do you all think of the few status quo changes they did make like Lisa being a vegetarian and Buddhist, Barney overcoming alcoholism in season 11 (until relapsing in season 15), and Maude Flanders permanently dying?
Like I said earlier, Lisa becoming a Buddhist was -takes a shot of his cocktail- not a great plan.
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.credit to them though that she stayed Buddhist though
New theme music also a boxIn which TheRealJims tackle how The Simpsons portray character deaths.
...and wow, especially that Father Kristofski death ad. Gee wiz, who would die among them - the almost always recurring characters or the guest character?
Although his conclusion is hilarious - you have apparently a high mortality rate if you're an adult parent.

Happy Whacking Day!
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.(please don't actually wack any snakes)
New theme music also a boxThe episode where Barry White madly shouted “You people make me sick!” and they were happy about it. XD
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue. The scene in question.
@Ulti: Since you mentioned it, there actually is a real Whacking Day in Australia. Only it’s about clobbering cane toads rather than snakes.
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue. They should have invited Weird Al instead. He's already sung an anthem to stomping weasels, he wouldn't mind a snake whacking.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersPerfect though it would have been, "Weasel Stomping Day" unfortunately was only released to the public in 2006 (both as part of Al's Straight Outta Lynwood album and a music video that was part of a Season 2 episode of Robot Chicken), quite some time after "Whacking Day" was made, and the Simpsons episode might well have inspired the song, at least in part.
