Huh, strange. It's a common trope yet somehow it's hard to search for.
In Bart Gets an F, how did Bart end up doing worse than Milhouse on a test despite getting the answers from him?
The writers have a hate boner for him.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.He probably misheard a few items.
Closest would probably be Nightmare Fetishist, but that's more liking gross stuff rather than being oblivious to it.
I think the joke is that Homer thinks he's in a stadium and that makes him want a hot dog, not that he wants to watch Bart's operation.
But there should be a trope of a character reacting mundanely towards something horrific.
Yeah it's probably that. Many of the cast like to do that.
Anyone familiar with a fan comic called Legend of the Mole Man?
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Since today is Star Wars Day, I just remembered one of my favorite jokes. :) Mayor Quimby is dumb. XD
Quimby: And may the Force be with you!
Leonard Nimoy: (miffed) Do you know who I am?
Quimby: I believe I do. Weren't you one of the Little Rascals?
Leonard Nimoy is my favorite classic era guest star. He was perfect. Keep watching the skis... I mean skies.
see my completed Tangled (Varian) fanfic collection! https://archiveofourown.org/works/24467056/chapters/59049532And the send off they gave him was funny and nice at the same time. :)
Leonard: Well, my work here is done.
Barney: What are you talking about? You didn’t do anything.
Leonard: Hehe, didn’t I? (smiles, and then gets beamed away)
Nimoy was definitely the best celebrity-as-themself guest star (best celebrity guest star period being, of course, Albert Brooks).
Funny thing is that Nimoy was the Simpson’s third choice for that episode
Forever liveblogging the AvengersThe irony that Nimoy has overtaken the Star Wars day conversation, when at least two Star Wars actors did guest voices on the show.
I actually like the novelty they handled as well. Both James Earl Jones and Mark Hamill did multiple roles in their respective episode.
Also gotta love this gag.

Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here. Both are also cursed.
R2 would have jumped into the ring from the beginning, anyway.
Wake me up at your own risk.Surprised they just referred to the Cylons as "mighty robots". And it's not like the show didnt know about science fiction, Tom Baker (just his appearance, it wasnt a guest star role) appeared a few seasons earlier as one of the representatives of Television.
Refresh my memory. Is there a trope for when somebody is unaffected by things that are gross? In “Round Springfield,” Homer was about to watch Bart undergo an appendectomy, and he said this about it: “Man, these are primo seats. I could really go for a hot dog!”
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.
