So, what now, a crowner?
Here there be cats.My problem with Horrible Judge Of Danger is it goes in both directions. It would also apply to a complete coward who is always imagining danger when there is none.
Other names have been suggested, like Stupidity Impulse Bait and Dumb Choice Bait. What I want confirmation of right now is whether the concepts I suggested are fine or need redefining.
Here there be cats.is the second concept video game specific? because that seems pretty close to Press X to Die, and i think we have non video game examples
You seem to be right. We ought to move them (if there's any in the Schmuck Bait page) to Press X to Die.
Here there be cats.Clocking due to inactivity.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Crowner ideas (some rewording may be needed, and it may be a 2-step process):
- Rename
- Retool to explicitly include non-traps (a mechanism intended to cause harm) to allow other examples that are "obviously dangerous".
- Retool from focusing on trap by themselves, to focus on characters who foolishly decides to interact with something that has stereotypical elements of a trap.
- Split off non-physical traps and baiting provocations

TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupShut off the clock, and hooked the above crowner with some wording adjustments, along with having renaming be conditional on retooling and the option for splitting off a new trope omitted (since that's a job for TLP or the Salvage Yard).
Edit: Neglected to mention that renaming was made conditional on retooling because the discussion regarding the current definition on the first two pages of the thread seems to indicate that there's some uncertainty regarding what the current definition is, meaning renaming without retooling might leave wick cleaners unsure of what to do with examples.

Crown Description:
Schmuck Bait is frequently misused. What should be done with it? Options are not mutually exclusive.
If we go with Horrible Judge Of Danger, I would want to put something in the description that says "Not to be confused with Hanging Judge."
