Reports of state-owned enterprises are setting up militias under their control, but the PLA commands them. Some online comments suggest that they can be used in potential protests over the real estate crisis.

A video made by Lei on who in the CCP are a "threat" to Xi Jinping. She also talks about how come the "fired" officials are being disappeared in a fast rate.

PS - My dad thinks Xi's going a good job at going after corruption. I internally cringe all the time.

Remember folks, authoritarian regimes love corruption, because if everyone is guilty of corruption, you can have anyone arrested on a whim under the cover of justice.

BBC reports the arrest of Liu Liange of the Bank of China.

According to them:

Mr Liu's arrest comes just about a week after he was expelled from China's ruling Communist Party following accusations of wrongdoing by the country's top anti-graft watchdog China's Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.

The regulator accused Mr Liu of a range of illicit activities which led to significant financial risks.

These include accusations of illegally granting loans, bringing banned publications into the country and using his position in the bank to accept bribes and other perks such as invitations to private clubs and ski resorts.

Interesting stuff. CBC made a report that for Chinese operations against the so-called fugitives (some did commit crimes abroad and were wanted by other countries), Canadian law enforcement did assist their Chinese counterparts.

In recent years, some people began to question this as some of the wanted persons who got sent back to China were disappeared even after Beijing made promises that they won't be executed or tortured and sent to a black site.

There's a reported instance where a supposed witness (a woman named Tao Mi) contacted a Canadian attorney and swore that her son was being threatened with harm from Chinese agents (likely MSS) in the early 2000s in order to get a fugitive back. The lawyer said that he last saw the witness 20 years ago and recalled that he was told if the witness talked to him and if Chinese public security police found out about it, she'll be disappeared.

China Observer talked about how Russians didn't like Chinese cars. It's mostly due to how the cars are assembled and there's no modifications made from the factories to better handle weather/terrain conditions in Russia.

He also mentioned the pricing. Aside from showing videos that the Chinese are very lax in the assembly/safety standards that they don't care on improving reliabity since they're the only ones there.

CO also mentioned the strict sanctions, forcing Russians to rely on airbags/seatbelts from other places or allow certain exemptions (eg a Russian-assembled car with no seatbelts/airbags will be allowed for now).

A lot of police present to make sure people are okay, but they're working with pro-CCP volunteers to block reporter's cameras and make them go away when they start to speak with the mourners.

Laowhy and Serpentza talk about Li Keqiang after he passed away. They mention that he's well-liked due to his reformist leaning. They didn't mention that he has an economist background and his English is quite good (I think fluent, last I checked. Couldn't find videos where he used English).

Earlier this year, a small town in the eastern Zhejiang province announced that it would offer couples 1,000 yuan ($137; £108) as a "reward" if the bride was 25 years or younger. It stunned and then angered locals, who called the local government tone-deaf for assuming that such a small amount of money could have an impact on such a major decision.

They'd need to offer way more money. 1,000 US Dollars wouldn't be nearly enough, let alone 1,000 yuan.
