Episode 11. In which they do not go on a date.
Possessive sister is possessive. And completely oblivious to reality.
Hakuya really does focus on the right detail. And it's okay when he's the one who ruins the building. He's the one who going to build it up again, after all.
Well, at least she's aware of her addiction. Kind of.
Yeah, that would be the first shady person to think of. No one would ever blame her.
Good reaction from Konoha. And she figured out the truth pretty quickly.
And then she goes total tsundere on him. I don't have a good feeling about that, though it's certainly in line with her character.
Mashiro is kinda funny describing the situation before realising exactly what she's saying.
Well, there's at least one person who can handle Benio. We need more of that one person.
Another tsundere. This one an actual alien.
She should not be allowed near kids.
He sure reminds me of Hanako when he covers his face with his hand.
I'm not sure it's possible to be any worse at covering something up. Without actually saying what it is you're covering up.
Okay, that leaving plot is so old.
Why is that weird?
Check out my fanfiction! Was that the alien from Kamichu saw?
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntThose greys are really common. Not sure you can peg a specific source. The Tsundere part was funny however. Unless this is where your getting it from.
I can kinda understand the ending Neither one of them has any social skills since they are an autistic and a nine year old. Well, it's a little better than when normal people pull something like that at least. Still, you would think Masahiro would know to at least leave a note.

Benio becomes more creepy and selfish with each episode. Good thing that the vice president is always there to stop her.
Ouch Hakuya that was pretty harsh.
Konoha is really likable, yeah.
"... with their kid!" :D :| :( Oh, Mashiro.
The way this show introduces "drama" can be really forced.
Not that one, the pink jellyfish thing.
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntBecause Konoha's character type is usually pretty flat and unlikable.
The sort of squid-looking type of alien is also really common in Japanese media. Apparently it has something to do with the original movie of War of the Worlds, I think?

Not Three Laws compliant.Weird that they didn't leave a note, yeah.
Konoha needed more screentime.
I think Konoha's been getting more screen time than Benio lately. Which isn't really a bad thing.
Episode out. Not a very good one, especially not for what is probably supposed to be the final episode.
Benio destroyed whatever was good about the episode, as usual.
Episode 12. In which they go on a trip.
I was going to make an It's Quiet… Too Quiet joke, but it seemed tacky.
Mayu's a good friend.
Yeah. As predicted. Doesn't make it less stupid.
Way to ruin the mood.
Benio getting angry at Hakuya's sparkles is hilarious.
Neither of them are UMAs. They're both identified.
The series would've been better with one character removed.
Konoha is probably the most surprisingly decent and reasonable character of the season.

Check out my fanfiction!Kinda weak episode. I was hoping for more humor and less Kobeni inferiority issues.
The reason for leaving was so weak.
Okay, I have to admit that the scene where he's carrying her was good.
Here comes Benio to make the episode worse.
Hakuya sparkling was great.
Aww, they didn't invite Konoha. And she's my favorite.
This was fun little series with only one element that I really didn't like - Benio became too unlikable past episode 4 or so.
I don't think the reason for leaving was bad (actually fairly reasonable considering the timing), but the way they stacked drama on it was. They should've invited her, though. And Konoha to that other thing.
Check out my fanfiction!
Yep, the drama could have been avoided had Hakuya, you know, informed Kobeni about it. His very terse text message just made it worse. XD
That said, baby steps, and this time there was a definite movement forward. :>

I kinda suspect they didn't invite Kobeni bc they didn't take the train.
Hakuya does a pretty good high-functioning autism impression. I don't think it ocured to him that Kobeni might think they actually left. Probably bc it would never occur to him to do so.
I have one of those fire starter things, cool.
Yeah, they should have invited Konoha.
It did feel like they padded the drama a bit this episode.
I didn't mind Benio that much. Last episode was I think the first time she kinda annoyed me. She's better in small doses however, as she's basically the comedy relief.

She could have been worse if Konoha hadn't started slowly absorbing her screen time.
If Benio attacks, Mashiro should hide behind Konoha, then push her at Benio. That would make two people happy, so it's a win-win!
Check out my fanfiction!Episode 12: I was okay with Hakuya's lacking texting skills, but not so much for the Kobeni's drama. Well, they got a sweet moment out of it, so I guess it's alright. Plus the art was gorgeous.
I can really see Konoha, Niko and Mashiro become best buds. United by UMAs.
Well we know which is the most gif-able scene in the episode. So cute!
I seriously thought Benio had hijacked a helicopter. Would have "redeemed" her some, but turns out it was Mayura's. Maybe next time, Benio.

OVA is out by the way, and boy, while it's played for laughs, what Benio was able to do in this special (walk on water, ninja-style ballistic jumps, walking on walls, well, trees anyway) in her chase of Mashiro kind of makes one thing that Kobeni's family isn't as normal as she thinks it is. The fact that Benio is able to keep up with Mashiro in the mountains, well...

OVA 1. In which there are UMAs.
He's always so expressive. Well, at least Kobeni can read him.
Getting in on a picture is relatively innocent for her.
Giant lizards. Like monitor lizards? That's what it looks like. And "hairy monsters" could be anything. I'm betting on a somewhat orange hair colour.
"If anything, the UMAs will be afraid of her." Well, yes. Whether you count the monkey or Mashiro.
Powered by perversion. She really is the UMA out there.
Well, on the picture in the article, you can't really make out the orange hair.
Kind of bland OVA, really.
Check out my fanfiction!
There are TWO [OVAs] by the way. The one that got translated — the UMA hotsprings trip — was the one that came with the first Blu-Ray. The other one accompanied the publishing of volume 6, and is about Benio and Kobeni's youth instead.
The latter one confirms some things:
- Nadeshiko's actually Benio's ChildhoodFriend, and she played with Kobeni when she was still young.
- Kobeni really had pink eyes before
- Benio's insane athletic abilities being present even as a grade-schooler (for context, she jumps to the top of the jungle gym from the ground in one leap).
- And her siscon tendencies are set in place as well...
- And how she takes playing house way too seriously if Kobeni's involved.
- How Hakuya and Mashiro are the only kids in their village (due to the younger folk apparently moving to the city and never bothering to come back)
- The Mitsumine matriarch's preference for expensive sweets from the city (a parody of Godiva's chocolates this time).
- And one heck of a brick joke -- Nadeshiko wondering if Kobeni now knows what Sekuhara is... Ten years later.

And yes, the second ova isn't subbed... Yet. Hopefully Loligeddon does it too, as it's only 12 minutes long.
Sorry for bumping, guys, but the second OVA is up subbed.
Why be sorry about that? And it's not a proper bump if you add something relevant to the thread.
Check out my fanfiction!
Don't worry Benio, with you around the other creepy stalkers can't compete.
It's weird, but I think Konoha is my favorite character. Her friend is a jerk though. At least she's not an annoying jerk the way Benio is.
The show has me kind of wondering if this relationship is even a good idea. It seems like an increasingly bad one to me.
